Love Vasque Shoes!!!
Vasque shoes are my absolute favorite. They are rugged, fit great, and have superior quality. The Juxt's did not disappoint. I got 2 pairs. A friend turned me onto Vasque shoes years ago. I've had many pairs over the years. I had to switch from med. width to wide width as i got older, and my feet spread out with age. The wide width is as perfectly fitting as the mediums were back then. Super comfortable, rugged, and great looking. I currently have about 7 pairs of Vasque's. Some with waterproofing, and some without. The Juxt's are the newest addition to the crew. I got them as soon as i could find them in wide. The stupid supply chain issues made finding wide in Vasque's hard. You will not be sorry for choosing any Vasque shoe. I have extreme foot pain from many years of working on old concrete hangar floors. So consequently, I have trouble finding shoes that are comfortable. Vasque shoes are them. I also have found shoes from Rock Rooster to be great for work. I've tried dozens of high end shoes over the years. These 2 brands are my go to's. I also liked a model from Danner, but they discontinued them. So Rock Rooster for work, and Vasque for everything else. I use a high end firm supporting insole from Sole in my Rock Rooster's for work. Keeps my foot stable when carrying a heavy tool bag and A/C parts. The Vasque's, i like the insole that comes with them. Hope this helps.

I just tend to look like one.
I've read somewhere that these were the shoes a Seal Team 6 member used during the Osama Bin Laden raid. I don't know if that is true or not. I'm not a Seal, I just tend to look like one... the animal, not the highly trained elite soldier. I took these out on a 5 mile hike/trail run. In my area we had a day of thunderstorms couple days prior, so most of the trails were still wet and muddy and slippery. Most of the small streams that I was able to get by without getting my feet wet were now overflowing with water. I knew if I went through with this, it would be close to impossible to return these if I didn't like them for some reason. However, at the comfort of my home, when I was walking around in these, they were very comfortable. Love the feel, fit, and look of the shoes. So I crossed these flooded streams, completely submersing these shoes in water. They drain well and were quick to dry. I aired them out and wore them the next day hanging out with friends. During my hike, these shoes have great traction and protection. I didn't feel any rocks or roots, and my foot felt comfy and protected the entire time. Well as comfy as drenched shoes and socks can be. I didn't use them on slippery rock, so can't say if they're good for that or not. Here's the thing that really surprised me. These shoes are surprisingly silent walking indoors. I have Merrell Moabs, and various trail running/hiking shoes, and all of them make either a rubbing rubber type of noise indoors on tile, or a thud like noise. These shoes are silent. These are my first pair of Vasques, and I am very happy.

Good, but a little too “lightweight”
I’m a little more than a month in and I’m conflicted about these. They are really comfortable. I am one my feet all day, and these are great in the variety of surfaces I encounter. I do have a couple issues though. They don’t have the best grip on concrete with fluids on it. My previous pair of Keen Braddock’s did much better. They had a more general purpose sole designs where as these go more towards loose soil conditions. The next problem is they seem to be wearing quickly. What’s interesting is it just seems to be the surface of the materials. The sole is not wearing down too fast and the materials aren’t stretching out. If I can get 6 months I think I will be happy. My previous pair of Keen’s did last over a year, but they did stretch out and the footbed had to be replaced. They were a much heavier shoe so I think I’ll take the trade off of lighter weight and half the service life. I have been more careful with these as I don’t think they can take the same abuse. I’ve tried to be careful about changing to my boots when I use a torch or weld. I’m pretty sure slag will go right through these. I really wish Vasque would make a pair like these with a little more leather and urethane midsole instead of EVA. I think that would be the perfect shoe. 7/20/25- These shoes have held up extremely well. The soles are starting to flatten and the tread is almost gone, but that’s pretty good for a pair of lightweight shoes. I will most likely buy another pair. I will mention that they offer little protection in the toe box. I know they aren’t a safety toe, but if drop a sledge hammer on your foot, it’s going to break a toe. Would be nice if they were just a little more rigid.

Reviews by Navy Seals were accurate
Most of my hiking is in mountains in the south and east US where waterproof boots are essential... or so I thought. After the glued-on soles failed too soon on my latest expensive pair of Gortex wonder boots, I was open to cheaper options for a trip out west where dry conditions are pretty much expected. Vasque always fits me best so that's where my search began. An outdoor site had a review of the Vasque Juxt that claimed these are worn by Navy Seal Team Six. One of the special operators was initially skeptical but figured if his opposition could move quickly and stealthily through the mountains with sandals then maybe ditching the heavy boots might be a good idea. He ended up loving these. OK, my demands are lot less than theirs so why not? A week in the high country of Colorado has made me a believer too! What makes them great: 1. Grip. Due to my vast trail experience, I haven't felt this sure footed on difficult terrain in a long time. These soles grab rocky terrain and hold tight. Mud is easily cleaned from the tread. 2. Support. A lot of footwear has too much arch support for me. These have a good moderate support perfect for my foot. You may want to add other inserts if you need a lot of arch support. 3. Breathability. Much better than any waterproof boots. 4. Lacing. The laces go all the way to the toes. The "eyelets" are climbing shoe style loops so you can customize the tightness everywhere across your foot. This allows for a wide variation in sock selection. Around town/day-hikes with lightweight cool socks or thick wool socks in the high country work equally well. 5. Cost. I can buy three pairs of these for what my high-end hiking boots cost. Downside: 1. Not waterproof. Crossing streams may mean wet feet. Problem solved by crossing barefoot and putting the shoes back on the other side. Dew wet grass was not much of a problem though. Snow will be a problem. 2. I was wishing that I had packed scree guards to keep pebbles out in the loose stuff. Not a huge problem though. The occasional pebble was taken out and introduced to his new road at the first opportunity. 3. Ankle support. On dry terrain and being careful through scree this wasn't a problem. On wet surface or ice, this could be an issue though. Conclusion: These are without a doubt my favorite hiking shoe of all time with cross-over capability that will leave my waterproof, heavier backpacking boots at home for many trips. I'll pack some lightweight trail gaiters to extend their functionality. This will make the more expensive boots last longer by using them only when technical conditions demand them.

Great shoes for high arches and concrete!
I bought these because of their reputation in special operations communities I follow, despite not using them for their intended use they've lasted much longer than I expected them to. I have high arches and found that the shoes really wrap around my heels (comfortably, mind) and fit my toes very well too. I've had slippers that were less comfortable than these. Like my title says, I walk mostly on concrete and because of the way I walk, I drag the outsides of my heels and so I tear through a lot of footwear very quickly... Even my issued Bellviews would only give me about 6 months before I had to get them resoled or something. So far, these have lasted me 8 months and will easily see me through the winter and beyond-- I still plan to order another pair when warmer weather hits, but I've been super satisfied with these and would recommend them to anyone with high arches. They're light, dry fast, (even in cold weather), are comfortable in hot weather and stylish for daily wear if that's your thing. If you don't walk like a crab, you can easily get a few years out of these, I have no doubt! Definitely wouldn't be my first choice for sub zero temps, but you really can't go wrong with them for everything else. Strongly recommended!

which is pretty impressive, because I don't usually own more than ...
These shoes lasted me a year, which is pretty impressive, because I don't usually own more than one pair of shoes at a time so these were worn 365 days pretty much. Typically at the one year mark even the most expensive hiking shoes are fairly worn out, and I must say that probably only some $200+ pairs of Lowas I have owned held up as well. It may seem silly, but one thing that impressed me about their durability was that the laces lasted the entire year as well. Don't know if it is my feet or what, but the last 4 or 5 pairs of shoes I've owned the laces broke after about 9 months, even some very expensive brands. These laces were not even frayed a bit. Another thing I liked about them was they were comfortable from day one, although they did not give as much support, stability, or padding as more expensive shoes I've owned. I was not super-impressed with their wet traction. Seemed like they were a bit slippery when I was walking in somewhere out of the rain, but on another note, even though they are not waterproof, they actually kept my feet dry when tromping through dewy grass and stepping in the occasional shallow puddle. I can recall one time my feet actually felt wet at all in these shoes. I'm wanting something with a little more padding and stability so I will probably not buy them again, but all-in-all these were a great value for the price. Top notch shoes that I am proud to have live a year plus with and give 5 stars to.

Okay not great. More trail runner than hiker.
Could it be that the Juxt is called a "multisport" shoe because it does several things okay, but nothing really well? Length: Relatively true-to-size, if a smidge long. I normally buy 9.5 when choosing a shoe that will be used for hiking to ensure there will be no toe bang. The size 9 Juxt is fine. Width: Sufficient room in the toebox. Definitely fits a more snugly through the forefoot than a typical "hiker"; might be more like an approach shoe. The heel pocket is not as narrow as the forefoot... might be more like the toebox. The extra lacing eyes and webbing allow for a very customized fit from toe to ankle. Heel pocket: For me, this is the most disappointing aspect of the shoe. Not sure if I can describe this in a way that will be comprehensible, but... the heel of the shoe, and the heel pocket, are shorter, top to bottom, than on a standard hiker. For me, this means that the heel doesn't feel as securely strapped in. And while the unique lacing arrangement holds the fore and mid foot securely, it does not lock the heel in place. On the first few wearings, there was noticeable heel lift. This has diminished somewhat as the shoes have broken in - perhaps because the sole has softened up and perhaps because the shoe is molding to my foot. But it remains true that the heel fit of the Juxt does not seem as... secure... as on the Lowa and Merrell hiking shoes I've owned. . Support: Torsional rigidity is okay, probably a result of the design of the sole. But the shoe is fairly soft. More a lightweight "trail runner" than a substantive "hiker". Can feel rocks through the sole - which is okay when scrambling, but can be painful / tiring on a long day of talus hopping. Sole: As above... a bit soft; doesn't appear to have much of a shank. Seems to grip well enough. Haven't had the shoe out in inclement weather so cannot comment on performance in wet or mud. Quality of materials / construction: No complaints (so far). Similar quality to my Vasque Snowblimes. If Lowas are BMWs, Vasque would be a Chevrolet. Solid materials and workmanship. Decent value at this price-point. One niggle: As another reviewer commented, the laces are constructed of a "slippery" material and have a propensity to loosen even when double knotted. Which can be annoying but is not really a "problem".

the shoes definitely meet my expectations.
I heard about them from a friend and I bought them with some trepidation, but they are definitely worth the price. I recommend

Comfortable out of the box
I had a pair of these previously and looked it up on Amazon to see if I could get them there. Sure enough and the price was a bit better than I could get locally. My last pair lasted a couple of years with no malfunctions just wear so that's why I was so interested in getting a new set. That and they fit my foot well - which I realize is a personal thing so I know that will be different for each person.
