Cuisinart Tea Kettle, Aura 2-Quart, Stainless Steel, CTK-SS17N

I've been using this kettle for a few months now and it checks off all my boxes: Looks good, light weight, easy to use, good functions, whistles, handle doesn't get too hot for just 1 cup. If you boil more than 1 cup of water, the handle does get hot and you'll need a pot holder but it's mostly just me having my cup of tea per day so it stays cool enough for that amount. I like that the top comes off easily, my old kettle was hard to pull off and eventually the screws dislodged from pulling on it so hard, and that the spout cap stays up when you push the handle button, my old kettle did not do that either. The stainless steel finish looks clean and modern to match my modern style kitchen, but it would probably look good in anywhere. Very happy with it!

My husband and I have used this kettle at least once per day for the past 2 years. It has held up fantastically well. It has a solid build with quality materials. The entire thing is stainless steel except for the handle, the knob on top of the lid, and the whistle flapper thingy, which are all thick plastic. The opening on top is wide enough to make getting in to clean the inside easy. Plus, there's been no rust. I've had some bad experiences with rust on the inside of these things before, but despite the fact that this one sits partially full of water all day everyday that has not been an issue. My only beef with it is that the whistle is the most irritatingly shrill sound I have ever heard, even amongst tea kettles. In fact, I had taken to leaving the flap open because it made me want to punch something (not really, but you get what I mean). Unfortunately, that meant I did not hear it come to a boil one day when I forgot to turn the stove off and went upstairs. 30 minutes later, my husband walked in and found the thing on fire. Whoops. Surprisingly the only damage was the handle on the lid which melted clean off. The kettle itself is still in great shape!

Heat distribution works well on gas cooktop. Cleans easy from gas even with hard water build up. Whistles loud, but if to full on high heat it will overflow. Pours well without spilling. Size is perfect to steep tea for a gallon, after adding additional water. The only build quality issue is the seam at the bottom will begin to leak over time. I use this several times a day and it is the only one that lasts at least a year. It is the only one I'll buy. Perhaps my hard water, extensive usage, etc are factors too.

Love this tea Kettle but I left it on the stove too long and ruined it so I bought another. Good ease of use and function. I like it's design.

This tea kettle is a big improvement over the previous version. The opening and closing for pouring is more solid and easier to manage. It can even be left open without holding onto it, a big plus. The cover fits precisely in place, so the whistle is loud and shrill. You won't miss it, even if you're in another room. This tea kettle is easy to clean, and easy to pour. A great value for the money. The size is right, too. It fits on all my stovetop burners, and I've also used it on a Coleman stove with no problems.

This tea kettle has a SERIOUS WHISTLE. I know when my water is boiling before the kettle goes into its full whistle because it has about a 2-second, lower-volume whistle before the full alarm! The kettle cleans easily with a long-handled brush and it looks the same as it did when I bought it (semi-matte, semi-shiny, clean stainless steel look). It’s lightweight.

Update: I bought this kettle Nov. 4th. It's now Nov. 25th. I was happy with it till it started rusting around the rim of the topper. I'm scared to use it for hot drinks. Will the rust fall into the water? I'm very disappointed. I shouldn't have to spend a hundred dollars for a quality tea kettle. Would not recommend. ** I've only had this kettle two weeks, but so far I'm very satisfied with it. It heats up well in just a few minutes. The whistle can be loud, but I usually get to it before it's screeching at me. For the price, seems to be good quality. The finish on the kettle stays clean and is easy to wipe. I truly like the handle mechanism and the button on top preventing me from touching any part that's hot. My last kettle I had to take the metal cover off the hot spout. That was tricky. Not sure how this one will hold up with time, but so far very pleased and would order again.

It keeps getting stains around the body. Unlike my other cuisinat products. this is very different.

Perfect kettle, lovely design, noisy whistle, easy to fill. A great purchase.

Seems to have good boil time.

I use it to boil water... large enough to boil 3-4 litres of water. I like the old kettle style that notifies you of the boiling water by whistling.

Me espere a escribir una opinión, porque leía que después de varios usos se oxidaba y se calentaban los mangos, pero yo la he usado constantemente, y nada de eso, incluso se ha quedado con un poco de agua y todo bien. Tampoco se calienta el mango, se sigue viendo como nueva. Es muy práctica, calienta rápido y guarda el calor.
