Matflex 5 GS Skate Shoe (Little Kid/Big Kid)

I read the other reviews so I purchased the shoes one size larger. When they first came he commented that they were a little big. I felt his toe in the shoe and he could have worn a half size bigger instead of a full size. After the second day of use though, he said that he has worn them in and he really likes them so we made the right choice. This is the third pair of asics wrestling shoes I have purchased. I have also purchased two asics head gear and have been completely satisfied. In my opinion, the asics shoes are not flashy, but they look good and are extremely functional. Asics makes wrestling shoes...they know what they are doing. I have less confidence in Adidas or other brands that makes every type of product under the sun.

I almost always wear a 7.5 in women's shoes and after reading tons of reviews, I decided to give these a shot in a size 6. They fit me perfectly. I have high arches and horrible bunions and these shoes still feel comfortable and supportive after two hours of heavy bag work and krav maga training, and other such activities. On the box, these say they are a EU size 37.5 which is not what the sizing chart for this product says, unfortunately. Great shoes but do be aware of the sizing discrepancies.

I'm a small woman, I wear size 6 in regular women's shoes. I bought these for weight training at the gym in a size 4.5 in boys/youth. Fit great and super durable. My first pair was my son's during his wrestling years in junior high when he was about 13. I wore them up until year before last, when I had worn holes in the bottoms of the soles. My son was 18 at the time =D I also wore them for daily activities, though now that I think of it, it was the Split Second style with the split sole (gumshoe sole) and looked very similar to these. I worried that these were not spilt soles and might be too rigid as was the pair I tried to replace my originals with....but nope....these rock =D

Love asic shoes. Been a fan for a while. Wore them while i was boxing and now that i have kids ready to wrestle...im sticking w this brand. Great grip on the mat. And they are narrow, so if u have a kid that has porch chop feet like mine, these will still work,but you will have to just go out more on the laces. Can reall see the confidence change now that both my boys are wearing new shoes. Always tell me that they feel faster and grippier (??? Thats a word). Bottom line, great shoe. Kids love them, and cery well priced.

These wrestling shoes were purchased for my 9yr old he wears size 5. After reading MANY reviews on these shoes, it was more advised to order .5-1 size up. However, in my situation even a 5.5youth was too big. As wrestling shoes should fit like a glove, with little wiggle room for best mat grip. Overall I purchased a 5.5 and a 6y which in turn both were returned for a size 5. I personally would not recommend sizing up. This is a very great shoe, made durable and with great quality! Next year we will definitely come back to reorder only in another size!

The product was just as I expected, it was perfect for my 7 y/o son. He just started wrestling and his new shoes have been performing as they should. The price is much cheaper on amazon rather than the regular retail store in town.

Asics Matflex 5 GS Wrestling shoe (little kid/ big kid) are a very popular wrestling sneaker. I found that the K13 fit about a 1/2 to 1 size smaller than a regular size 13. they just fit my 6 year old and should hold up well for the remainder of wrestling... wanted a little wiggle room. He's a regular shoe size 12.5, comfortably. have not had for long and this is his 1st year joining so I don't know how well they hold up, but will update at a later date if needed. Very happy with this shoe and definitely recommend, I would be cautious as the size may be a little off, did not have to return.

For the simple fact that my son only used these for less than 6 months, they are SO not worth $35. Believe me, kids grow so fast that by the time he's finally able to do an anklepic on his own mom because she took his sippycup away, you're already having to buy the next pair up. And the laces version, omg don't even get me started! You need a shoehorn JUST to get his feet in the shoe! Even AFTER I loosen the laces to the point that the shoe now resembles the Spaghetti Monster from Hell, I still had trouble getting his heel inside. THEN I have to tighten all the laces without letting them get twisted because my 4 year old son is anal like that, and by the time I've finally got the laces tied he's late entering the mats. IT TAKES ENTIRELY TOO LONG AND I NEED AN EXTRA SHOT OF VODKA TO DEAL WITH THE STRESS OF A HYPERACTIVE CHILS WHO CAN'T SIT STILL. So yeah, don't get the laces. Save yourself. Say NO to laces, and say YES to velcro.
