Is this product made from fish scales? Where is it sourced from?

Our marine collagen is sourced from wild-caught cod, red snapper and pangasius as well as farm-raised pangasius. The collagen is extracted from the skin, scales and bones of these fish. Extensive studies demonstrate the mix of fresh-water and ocean species ensures quality and consistency. Taken together with all the exceptional ingredients included in Dr. Ohhira’s Collagen Plus it provides the highest level of collagen concentration possible to enhance the absorption for maximum effect.

What does low molecular weight mean?

Low molecular weight means the ingredients are broken down into smaller, better absorbed particles. This process is called hydrolyzation and makes the collagen more bioavailable. Dr. Ohhira’s Collagen Plus is characterized by excellent bioavailability.

Has this product been tested for heavy metals?

Yes, Dr, Ohhira’s Collagen Plus has been tested for heavy metals. The product passes all tests for purity and any heavy metals detected were at extremely low levels, way below FDA limits and for some heavy metals nothing was detected because there is nothing or the levels are below the detection level of the testing process.

Can you explain why the pangasius are farm raised?

Dr. Ohhira's uses both wild-caught and farm-raised pangasius as well as other wild-caught fish to produce the collagen in the Premium Collagen Plus supplement. Several studies helped determine that using this combination of fish provided the most consistent quality and highest quality collagen. Dr. Ohhira's has always focused on quality and purity for their ingredients and consistently tests to ensure that you are getting clean and pure ingredients and premium quality collagen.
