Fellowes Office Suites Metal Adjustable Foot Rest, Black

I use an old-fashioned 1940's desk as my work surface but there is only a limited amount of space between the side drawers to put your feet, let alone a foot rest. I spent hours trying to find a decent foot rest that would slip in between the 18.5 inches of space. When I found this one, I hesitated because of the price, but it checked all my boxes: 18" wide; locking swivel option; height adjustment. Sometimes, when there aren't any options - you have to pay the price. Well, I am glad that I did. Not only does it fit neatly under the desk but it is very well made so probably worth the extra cost. Although the height adjustment does require flipping it over, that was fine with me; I don't intend to change the height of the foot rest more than on a rare occasion - but rather the height of my chair, if needed. The locking mechanism to go between free-swivel and locked is easy enough to do and can be done with your toe - although after reading some reviews of that piece breaking, I plan to do it by hand - just in case (although it looks plenty sturdy to me). So, most importantly: it is works very well and will save getting any neck and back strain when on the computer for long hours.

I ordered this for my office. Up until now I've had a dictionary with a pillow on it under my desk, which of course kept slipping around. Since I'm a bit short and prefer my chair up high to my keyboard, my feet dangle and I was feeling discomfort in the muscles at the tops of my feet. This is a good size and stays in place. I thought I would need the middle height, but the lowest setting works perfectly. It does seem a bit cheaply made, but I'm simply resting my feet on it, so it is working for its intended purpose. Update: February 3, 2026 - As I was editing a recent review, I realized I could see all of my old reviews. I decided to update this one because it was originally posted in 2014, and I'm STILL using this foot rest! I'm retiring next month and slowing bringing items home. This foot rest has been under my desk and I've been using it all of these years! Wow! I have an electronic keyboard at home that I hope to learn to play. Since I like to sit high, I think I'll bring the foot rest home from the office when I retire and put it under my keyboard. It may get a few more years of use!

Its now october purchased this in april and the whole thing broke already very cheaply made plastic, would not recommend this item to anyone. DO NOT BUY!

This works well and fits under my desk with the modem and battery backups. Like most things today, it is not as nice as the one it replaces. But, I am happy with it. I can lock it into place, which is more comfortable for me. It is needed to help my back because I am short and dangling or just barely reaching the floor feet is painful! It feels sturdy, but, not sure if it will last.

The item does what ti says but it's so light weight it wants to slide all over. I tried on carpet and a wood floor. Flimsy. For the price give me something solid.

I'm not really wowed by this item, I was very excited when I ordered it, but once I took it out of the box, I felt like it wasn't really worth the price. The plastic is reasonably sturdy, but could cause fatigue and pain if you apply a lot of pressure with your feet, so I'd recommend wearing socks or shoes when using it. The adjustment isn't really that amazing, and I don't feel the increments are fine enough in the adjustment. Plus the "Rocking" motion the description talks about, is more like the ability to have it move up and down in an arc motion, not like a swing. The horror came when I had to adjust the height, you have to totally take it apart, at least unscrew 4 screws, that weren't that easy the first time to take apart, then I put it back together backwards, my mistake, but a label that said front/back would have been nice, because it was a total pain to rescrew it over and over. (UPDATE: Another reviewer has stated that this is not the case on the current design, if so, that really helps improve the usability of this item a lot! Please note this new information!) There are three levels of height, the degrees of difference between them I feel are too great to achieve your probable "sweet spot". I found that once I moved it from the default of "shortest" it became unstable on my carpet floor, which is like a medium shag. The higher I went on level it had a tendency to wobble back and forth and be uneven. On a mat it had a tendency to slide around a bit as well. I think I'm going to look into a nicer SAFCO model or something. This isn't a bad buy, but I should have just bought the cheaper Fellowes model that was basic, after all, it was more than half off this price, and probably would behave the same. So, sadly, this unit is "Just OK" in my book.

great function. the 'pedal' used to adjust the angle works fine, if you know how to use it. prior reviews indicated it was difficult to use, but i've not found that to be the case. It's all-plastic construction, so it's not super heavy duty, but for the price, it's a great product. I use it daily without issue. If you want to use this on a hard floor, you'll need to add beefier rubber feet, or put it on a rubber-backed rug. The little rubber feet that come with it are too small to keep it in place with pressure on it.

Convenient to use. Good quality. Makes the posture to be less fatigue prone.

somewhat...it serves the purpose but not as sturdy and comfy as i expected it to be...very plastic y...if u understand what i mean...one of the problems of this catalogue shopping you dont get to see the products you are committing for...but then you can buy whatever...

I've been using this for about two weeks now and have noticed a couple of things about it. It definitely serves its purpose to provide a rest for my feet, but I find that it slides on my laminate flooring a little too easy. If it came with rubber that was better at sticking to a smooth floor, that would definitely have improved my experience. Also, when it was shipped, it did not come in an Amazon box like everything else I've ever ordered. Someone just literally slapped a shipping label on the product box and shipped it as-is.

Got this today, and I'm very happy with how easy it is to use and its functionality. I noticed that after reading other reviews, some people might not realize that the locking function will hold the angle in place. Also, after flipping it over, you can see that there are notches to remove the base and adjust the height. It's really quite a nice design. All plastic? Pretty much, but that's exactly what I wanted to keep my feet cool since I'm always barefoot at home. Plus, it makes cleaning easier.
