This chalk is what you'd see in commercial gym or power lifting gyms. Its a bang for your buck deal. It is dry so it will get alittle messy but that's the name of the game, just put it in a piece of Tupperware inside your gym bag and you'll be good. I've been using this chalk for over 3 years now and refuse to switch. Really helps out with keeping hands dry and providing a great and comfortable grip when doing heavy compound lifts.

First off the carton chalk ness monster is hilarious. Moving on, I think this is pretty good gym chalk. I'm an avid cross fitter and olympic lifter. Stuff works pretty good for me. Some of the blocks break apart easier than I would like but I don't mind that much, I just have to make sure I'm not man handling the stuff. It's cheap and you get a decent amount, good in my book

Bit about me.. I am into powerlifting.. the kind of guy whose grip gives away before the msucles do (damn sweaty palms you see) and hence deadlifts over 300lbs used to be a dream.. Enter Mangenisium carbonate and that was a thing of the past. Now, i have used the normal chalk (calcium carbonate.. lets just call it school chalk) and it used to do the job but this chalk (gym chalk lets say) is a different ball game.. Differences, you ask? 1. school chalk is very good for absorbing moisture and it coats well on your hand but it gave me a smoother feeling.. the bars wont slip but it was nice until the gym chalk entered my life.. gym chalk makes your palms a sticky.. super glue son of a gun thing.. 400 lbs people.. (never going back to school chalk ever).. 2. School chalk is a lot more dense then the gym chalk.. not that it matters.. 3. This particular chalk crumbles real easy.. applying from the block on hands directly(i got all the blocks intact totally.. Thank you monster people for that) is a breeze.. coats on very well and you are setup in mere seconds (this also gives me time to go into the lifting zone.. if you know what i mean).. else knocking off a small piece of the block and crumbling it under your fingers to apply on the hands is really easy too.. 4. damn awesome grip with the gym chalk.. it gives me a little extra to hold the bar in the same position that i wanted to from the beginning of a lift.. All in all.. worth its price anyday..

The name is great, and I love the logo. I use this chalk mostly for power lifting and it gets the job done, my grip on the bar is about as good as i've ever felt it, also while i'm squatting I have the confidence that it's not going to slide. My only gripe is that it's almost TOO dry. When I squat, I like to put the chalk across the back of my shoulders, and when I do that I need a nice solid piece of chalk to do it. This chalk does have a tendency to break off when pressure is applied, in my experience it works best as a fine powder moreso than a solid chunk. Currently I have to do this strange method of holding the powder in my hand and kind of patting myself on the back. However, with the chalk there it does feel really solid. You know why you're buying this. Become the monster.

I needed chalk for a pull up bar I have installed in my home gym. This chalk works perfectly for this application since it doesn't go all over the place and I don't need a lot to keep my grip. The blocks do fall apart, but they don't crumble, more like fall apart into manageable pieces. My grip and upper body are getting much stronger now thanks to this chalk!

I liked this chalk. It was nice and soft but still had a crunch to it. I would buy again for asmr

The chalk is fine. It's not my favorite chalk, but it's chalk, and has general chalkish qualities. The problem is that the blocks are crumbly. If I buy a block, I want a block, not a crumbly mess. This stuff is super lightweight and breaks extremely easily. I would resort to taking some of the small chunks and just crushing them between my hands. I have since switched to another brand that has blocks that don't shatter so easily. Like I said, it's chalk, and it's fine, but it's not good as far as bar chalk goes. I still keep this chalk in a big ziplock, crushed up. Gave some of it away with craigslist gym equipment sales.

I love this chalk! I use it mainly for my compound lifts like deadlifts, squats, & bench. It definitely helps with my grip. I can do so much weight on deadlifts now because I can have a good grip. Before 205 would slip off on the end of the 4th rep but now I can deadlift 235x5 and it won't slip halfway through a rep! My palms get super sweaty so this defineitly has helped. It's not too messy either. I believe this chalk will last me a long time, probably half a year or maybe even a full year. :) Okay I lied, so almost a year later I have only used 2 blocks. I crushed it into an empty container and I lost one at the gym so I had to open up a second block. This thing comes with 8 so I probably won’t need to buy chalk in years to come.

Chalk feels flvery soft on the skin, crumples easily. Some of the best chalk I've used. Took a while to arrive though.
