【Upgraded】DC97-14486A Dryer Heating Element Compatible With Samsung dryer

Looked just like my replacement,thought mine was bad but really a wire had melted. I changed it anyway incase it was damaged. This worked great so far been 2 months

Had a little trouble installing it but once installed, it worked great! My dryer now heats up! Great price.

First, it is installed and working well. I will update if it fails. Now the bad. The wires and terminals are cheap, loose fitting and undersized, One of the terminals was broken. I would include a photo, but the seller Kindly already did that. See the blue wire in the ad photo, the one with the broken off terminal? Yeah... truth in advertising. The other issue is the packaging is terrible. You have a thin sheetmetal structure with exposed electricals tossed into a cardboard box with NO protection. The connectors were mashed, likely the source of the terminal breakage above. And both ends of the housing were bent. The air inlet side was bent up almost closed, and more frustratingly the connection to the dryer feed pipe had been sprung oval. It took a lot of work with a hammer and dolly to get it to fit. I STRONGLY recommend replacing the two external wires. The ones supplied are undersized and loose fitting; may be the source of some of the premature failure reports, and certainly are a fire hazard. Really, I recommend just replacing the thermal fuse and thermostat and keep your old heater and tube assembly. EDIT 10 days after the return window closed. It failed. The unsupported heater wire sagged down enough to short to the frame. It welded itself to the frame, making the heater 110V with a return through the chassis ground. Wife started complaining of really long dry times. I was not happy when I took it back apart to find out why.

Armed with that video, ordering this part was a no-brainer. The only trouble I had with the part I received was the end that mates with the back of the dryer was squished (technical term) making it more oval shaped than round (hence 4 stars - not 5). Being this was my first repair attempt, I doubted myself vs. the part. My advice would be to ensure the part fits first before wiring it up and then attempting to seat it in place. I had to reshape the end to be more round (easy to do with metal) and then it fit. I'm sure I saved a couple hundred $$ doing this repair myself. While I had the dryer apart, I took out as much wayward lint as I could as it was easier to do with the dryer apart. Finding the remnants of the salamander that crawled down the exhaust accordion duct at some point during the dryers eight year life was an added bonus. Luckily, I have been changing my new grandson's diaper so nothing is grossing me out at this point.

Had a problem with my Samsung dryer. My dryer wasn't drying fast enough. I replaced the heating element and now is working great. This was a better alternative than replacing my dryer.

I purchased this product December 2019 and now 5 months later it failed. Installation of the heating element is time consuming and inconvenient. Producing a product with such a short lifespan is not customer friendly and down right poor business. Had I known this was the case, I would saved a couple of bucks and bought the china version. Double shame on Samsung - your appliances are the biggest piece of crap. They are not even worth the value of scrap metal. The issues started right after warranty ran out: broken ice maker on refrigerator constantly leaking on floor, blown magneto on microwave nothing heats and now 2nd time replacing dryer element. I've logged more time repairing Samsung's poor excuse of appliances then the average small appliance repair guy. Do your self a favor DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG PRODUCTS! Kick their appliances to the curb right next to the garbage can where they belong. ***UPDATE*** purchased another heating element on May 19th, 2020 After 32 days this heating element FAILED with no recourse to get refund or replacement. ***Buyer beware*** You'll get ripped off by this company who is taking advantage of customers with SamSUK products! Kick that piece of crap SamSUK appliance to the curb like I did.

Poor Quality, Blue wire Burnt off after 2 months use, replaced wire, heating element burnt out at 4 months use. Purchased March 2023 element burnt out July 1 2023

Very dangerous item, the wire burnt after just a month of use!
