I fill the container with white vinegar and leave for 10 minutes. The rest I just wipe clean with a damp cloth.

It has to be plugged in or it won’t heat the water .

Do you have to use the little pads or can I use this to lubricate my voice for singing?

The pads aren’t essential. They just smell nice.

Yes you can use it without vapour pad. But the steam is not great.
