Viable alternative to a Toro 89-0993!
I have a sprinkler system that was installed in the 1990s, and the original Toro valve diaphragm was the model 89-0993. Thirty years later, the original model can't be found anywhere on the internet. I decided to give this model (89-9861) a try, and despite a slight increase in overall diameter (maybe a millimeter), this model fit in my original valves and works great. Awesome!! - Steve

Fixed leaky Toro 280 valve
I replaced the diaphragm in an ancient Toro 280 valve with this product. It took only a few minutes and fixed my leaky valve problem. Very pleased I was saved the aggravation of replacing the valve.

It does the job
I would buy it again. It is keeping my old sprinkler system running fine.

Quick and inexpensive
My house has a system that's mixed over the past 23 years of its existence. Two sections are Toro and one of them was sticking on. Here's just another review that will give you the confidence to DIY! Requires NO tools as long as the last guy didn't crank it on too tight. Twist off the cap. Replace this piece of rubber. And viola! That section works like it should.

Good replacement
One of the zones in my sprinkler system stopped working. I swapped a known good solenoid to that valve and it still didn't work. Inspecting the diaphragm showed that the rubber had stiffened and was no longer pliable. I replaced it (and another one) with two of these and the system is functional once again.

better stock up on diaphragms
These parts are becoming somewhat rare, so if you have these valves in your yard, better stock up on diaphragms.

solved my problems with older Toro valves
I had one zone that wouldn't come on, and another one that wouldn't shut off. My system was installed 20 years ago and I could not find any replacement parts info on them. The valves I have are Toro 290 06 04. I took a chance and ordered two of these diaphrams and installed them in the old valve bodies. Voila, problems solved! I thought I was going to have to replace the entire manifold, but these fixed the trouble at a fraction of the cost and time of replacing the entire valve system.

Works with Toro 290 06 04
Many thanks to Waldo53 for the review. I also have an old Toro 290 06 04 that wasn't working. One sprinkler supply shop looked in a couple of catalogs and found a replacement solenoid, which didn't help, but when entering in the model number into Google, Waldo53's review was found. Ordered the part, installed it in a few minutes, and now it works perfectly. And no digging!
