Great starter kit!
I purchased this on Amazon in the early spring, and had to wait two months before I could actually use it. I love this kit! I mostly go car camping, and I've been trying to condense as much of my gear as possible. I wanted a dedicated camping kitchen set so I wouldn't have a bunch of loose kitchen tools floating around in my pack. This set is great as a starter set, and has most of what I need. I almost bought the GSI set specifically for their collapsible tongs. However, the MSR kit has tons of extra room, so I just bought the tongs separately and added them to this kit. I also added a cheap can opener, and I replaced the included salt shaker with a GSI Spice Missile. All the extra room in the case is probably my favorite part of this kit. The collapsible tools work pretty well. Nothing melted on my camp stove, and nothing folded up while it use. But the tools are meant to be light and portable, not extremely durable. The knife was good for cutting up carrots and cheese, but I wouldn't try to process any fish or game with it. I put soap in one bottle, and oil in the other, and I didn't have any leaks. I would definitely recommend this kit to everyone, except for solo ultralight backpackers. This kit might be good for group backpacking, where gear can be shared, but it's probably a bit too big for just one or two people.

Comprehensive, quality kit, with room for a few extras.
Pros: Very comprehensive kit, high quality items with a nice case. Cons: Price... but it's tolerable. Bottom line: I would recommend this kit for your camping (glamping) needs. I purchased this kit after returning MSR's medium-sized kit. That kit has a roll-up cutting board, which is absolutely useless (and immensely frustrating). This one has a much better non-flexible cutting board that folds in half instead of rolling up. If you're considering the two, get this kit. I augmented the kit with a small bottle of bio-friendly liquid soap (or you could just use one of the included squeeze bottles), and a scrubbing cloth. I used one of the bottles for some cooking oil. I highly recommend you put your cooking oil squeeze bottle into a ZipLock style bag. I have yet to see a bottle that doesn't leak a little bit. I also put a small bundle of toothpicks in the kit - handy for cooking and, well, picking your teeth. And, there's also room for a few sets of eating utensils in the case as well. Overall, great kit.

A compact cooking tool set by a reputable company
MSR makes good gear. This is a relatively small pack that fits into my gear bags for car or motorcycle camping nicely. The right tools for cooking make a big difference in the satisfaction of the cook during meal prep. Sure, I could probably get by with a big spoon. I have. This contains a well thought out set of tools. Most are folding so they become full size. They are a durable plastic so they function and are easy to clean. There is a chef style knife that is thin so it cuts well and stain resistant steel. I added a small knife sharpener to this set. There is room to add other small items (plastic bags, spices, foil) if you pack carefully. I like the small container as it keeps things organized. I haven't used this enough to satisfy a perfect rating. So far so good...

a bit bulky but has everything I need
I bought this to pair with my camp cooking set. I decided to buy this rather than the implements separately. I can carry just the spatula or w/e if I want but if I have the space it's nice to have the whole set. Good quality stuff and appreciate having the knife and everything else. I find the cutting board kind of awkward (it's folded in half) I personally would have preferred just a small cutting board that was one solid piece. I also had some space to stuff some other items in like mats for the heat and a few other items.

Great lightweight, durable and well thought-out camping kitchen set!
Things I didn't see in the description: The corkscrew has a bottle opener. The cutting board has a crease to fold in half, (avoiding the problem I have seen people post of a rolled up cutting board that will not lay flat) The utensils are durable, and are flexible but not flimsy will defiantly not fold up while in use, and are a perfect non-scratch tool for the MSR Flex 4 System Cook Set. The case has room for other necessities you may want to add, as long as they are small, perhaps an additional hunting knife, or pepper spray... just in case! ;-)

Nice but I it really worth the price?
Nice but I regretted buying because ozark trail makes almost the same kit with 2 times the stuff and at half the price. Like I said I love it but over priced for sure.

Well thought out, worth every penny.
This kit is just about perfect. It is not necessarily too big for the lightweight backpacker or too small for the back country gourmet. The kit is packed only about half full and there is enough room to add a good amount, but all of the cooking essentials are already there. The extra space could be filled with things like waterproof matches, LED light etc., to make a bit of a cooking survival kit. Individually, the knife is not anything that special, but is better than I expected and comes very sharp. The picture gives a very good indication of what you are getting, but you can't see the clip-strap. I was a bit hesitant to buy this kit at $55 so I waited until it went on sale a bit, but honestly I don't think its possible to put together a better camp cooking set for around $50. This is a well thought out product worth every penny. I could not find this information on the product page so I determined it myself. MEASURES 9.5" x 7" x 3.5" WEIGHT: 1.2 pounds
