Great with only one problem (for me)
This USB power cord is a great idea, elegantly designed and when the TV is on works perfectly. As all the 5 star reviews say, it powers the Fire Stick, saves an outlet (the wall plug is pretty big), reduces cord clutter, etc. The problem I discovered using this with my LG TV is that when the TV is off, the power to the USB port shuts off. This means that if the TV is off for an extended period of time, such as over night or when I'm gone for the weekend, the FireStick runs out of standby power and has to be unplugged and reset every time I turn the TV back on to use it. With the wall charger the FireStick is able to remain in sleep mode and fully powered so that when I turn the TV back on it is ready to wake up and show me my wonderful shows and movies and games. I believe it would be possible to use this cord during an extended TV marathon and fully charge up the FireStick so that it had ample power to standby over night. It may be a smarter use of the $14.99 to buy a power strip that spaces each outlet out more and use the included wall plug. UPDATE: The excellent customer service at Mission contacted me (based on my Amazon review alone) and is working to fix the issue I mentioned. Will add more info once I try their solution. UPDATE 2: The Mission Power USB Cables work really well on two of the three TVs in my house. A 24" LG and a 32" Panasonic both power up the FireTV Stick via the Mission USB cable beautifully. The 39" LG (model 39LN5300) just doesn't want to give it the power it needs. I can not say enough about how impressed I am with Mission Power USB's excellent customer service! Thank you, Brian. I am going to buy another FireTV Stick to use this cable in another room. Also, I will be careful when buying a new TV and make sure this cable works in it. I have upped my rating to 5 stars because I think this is a problem with one of my TVs and not a problem with this cable.

Solves Power Warning When Attempting Software Update
As others, bought this for use with my Amazon Fire TV Stick on a 2010 Samsung LED/LCD TV. If I tried connecting with simple cable that came with Stick, I get the power warning when attempting to run Software Update. With this cable, Software Updates run fine with no warning and watching hi-def Netflix encounters no problems. Now one thing I realized, when you use the AC adapter, the Fire TV Stick will receive constant power from wall block and unless you hit a button on the remote it will stay in low power sleep. With this cable attached to your TV's USB port, every time you power the TV on or off you will power the Fire TV Stick on or off. So in morning when I turn on the news, I notice the Stick has also powered on and is warm and then eventually goes to sleep mode. Notice that Stick will also auto-update software when powered on, so every time you turn on TV is an opportunity for it to update itself or its apps. Don't see this as a problem, just an artifact of powering the Stick from the TVs USB port.

No go with Samsung TVs (several models) and Vizio TV (M70-C3) and firestick (newest model).
I purchased this with hopes of not having to run another cable to my UPS for the firestick however that is not the case. When I installed it on a older Samsung flat screen LED TV the unit work ok, causing the firestick to be laggy at times especially on start up. Upon using the provided power cable these issues were not present. I then installed this product on another Samsung Plasma TV and experienced similar issues but not quite as bad. Lastly I tried the product on a brand new (ok few months old) Vizio M70-C3 TV. When installed on the Vizio I couldn't even get the unit to get past the boot screen before it would restart. It was worth a try but it just didn't work for me.

Second Purchase
There are accessories that should be included with a device from the get go. This is one that complements the it's purpose, be it limited power access or just tidying up the dreaded plug in power supplies. Just be sure you have an HDMI and USB within the distance of the Fire Stick. The flexible adapter (Which is Included) for HDMI ports where clearances do not allow a direct plug-in of the "Stick" for a number of reasons that are peculiar to each HDTV's design. There are also warnings about the use of such USB cables supplying power via the USB ports directly powered by the HDTV. There exists potentials to exceed the power supply capabilities, but the engineering in both the HDTV and the Cable itself minimize the risk. I say that because such cautions are stated in the Owners Manual/Start-up Guides. Let's face it folks, I am one of those Daredevils who throws caution to the wind and plows straight ahead. I like most surprises, and believe me when I tell you, I've been really been surprised a time or two. But whose is going to read the fine print every time. This cable draws from your HDTV.s Power Supply, and through the use of the small "plastic cell" in the center, between the the ends of the mini cable and the USB connection. It can store a small amount. of USB voltage (quite small) to compensate those rare moments where there might be a higher demand for power to the Firestick . I would guess it is a capacitance system, storing a charge and controlling the lower over and under voltage issues by discharge if necessary( This device probably has more computing power than my first calculator. In essence it is not so terribly different as the plug in wall transformer provided with the Firestick, except it is not dealing with 120 volt household voltage. I have had not one hiccup, no noticeable heat, and it is one less item needing a separate power supply and before it becomes a part of my spaghetti wiring behind my HDTV. Truth be told I bought a larger HDTV because the price was right, and as it helps to hide the many feet of cabling and a 1/8 mile long professional plug in strip. Seems so far to be doing exactly what it was intended to do. Less expensive cables are available, but I leaned toward this. Okay, the picture looked Cool, I am a sucker for "stuff" that eliminates clutter...I guess that's why I am still married, after 40 years.....my Wife has thrown away nearly all the junk I accumulated. I forgot what I had anyway, so no regrets. She smiled and nodded when I told her I had ordered a second one today. Hows that for a ringing endorsement?

Benefit of the doubt.
Unfortunately, the Mission Power USB cable is one of those things that gets taken for granted. In addition, it gets all the blame when something goes wrong. The cable is great and it serves its purpose. It is out of sight and out of mind because it is located behind my TV unbeknownst and unidentifiable to the world until, something goes wrong: There has been a few times that I've turned on my TV and nothing happens. I began by troubleshooting the TV, then moved on to the Amazon Fire Stick, and even rebooted the WIFI connection, but to no avail. I began the hands on phase of troubleshooting by removing the Amazon Fire Stick from its HDMI port, plugging it back in, and still nothing. The natural next step was to remove the power source and so I did. I removed the MP USB power cable from the USB port, plugged it back in and nothing. I was baffled. The only other thing I could thing of was to detach the MP USB cable from the Amazon Fire Stick itself at the micro USB port. I plugged it back in and voila: the Amazon Fire Stick came back online. This problem has occured a couple more times and I went through the entire process to give the MP USB power cable the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately, the MP USB power cable is the source of my troubles. Now, granted, it could be the USB ports of the Sony Bravia LCD TV that I purchased way back in 2010. So once again, I will give the Mission Power USB cable the benefit of the doubt. 4 starts is my rating until further notice.

Not bad but not great.
I bought two, one for me and one for my GF. It works great with my CHEAP Chinese TV but doesn't power the fire stick on my GF's Big $$$ Samsung. The fire stick works great plugged into the AC adapter and it works great plugged directly into the Samsung's usb with a standard USB cable but it won't power up using the Mission Power cable. It might just be a bad cable and I'll have to return it, but before I do I want to try the mission cable I have on my Chinese TV (I don't remember the brand name) and se if that one will power it up. I'll give it a try and post the results later.

My television is from 2007, and this worked with NO problems.
I purchased the Mission Power USB cable to use with my Samsung LNT4065F--a television that I bought in August 2007. With a television that old, I knew that the standard USB slot would not be able to adequately power my Fire Stick. Having read so many positive reviews, I decided to give this innovative new USB cable a try. I was amazed to find that, once connected, it worked perfectly to power my Fire Stick. Despite the Samsung's age, I watched movie after movie with NO interruption--exactly as if the Fire Stick had been powered with its included AC adapter. I'm thrilled that I found this alternative to the Fire Stick's AC standard adapter. I plan to travel with my Fire Stick and the Mission Power cable will definitely be right alongside! It has won my confidence after extensive testing, and I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone considering purchase.

No more unsightly power wires!
This is such a cool item! If you already have an Amazon Fire TV stick then you know how cool they are and just all the content thats available to view and play on them. If you dont have a power socket close to your TV, this is the item for you. Simply plus this device in to the back of your Amazon Fire TV stick and the other end in to a USB socket in the back of your TV and this then makes the need for the power socket plug irrelevant. No more unsightly wires coming from the back of your TV set! Its self powered from the USB socket and keeps the whole Fire TV stick hidden completely. I have purchased several of these and have no negative things to say about this item at all! If you have an Amazon Fire TV stick, this is the next item you need to purchase!

Make Sure It Is New/Unused
Works great - pleased with how it functions. The only problem was - that the box it was delivered in was NOT sealed, torn at 3 edges, and no instruction pamphlet inside the box (didnโt require because it was easy to install). When I contacted the company - they did tell me that it was new.
