Light Is the New Black: A Guide to Answering Your Soul's Callings and Working Your Light Review: A gentle, uplifting read for anyone exploring their spiritual side - This book really spoke to me in a quiet, encouraging way. It’s written with warmth and honesty, and it feels more like a conversation than a lecture. I found myself underlining passages that reminded me to slow down, trust my intuition, and make space for what truly feels aligned. What I love most is how easy it is to read, short sections, lots of reflection points, and a tone that feels supportive rather than preachy. It’s the kind of book you can pick up whenever you need a little perspective or inspiration. Sometimes I just open it to a random page and end up finding exactly what I needed to hear that day. Review: I loved her approach - I am not giving this book five stars because it shifted something within myself, it did no such thing. It did put me back onto the path I was called on years ago. I loved her approach, her writing style, and the energy within the text. If you are already on the path of working your purpose this book may not bring anything new or enlightening, but that isn't to say it won't completely turn someone else's world around. I think this book will inspire a lot of women (and possibly men) to really look deep within and start a journey of working your purpose. For myself, this book was full of reminders and was comforting. You are not alone in your suffering, allow the light to come forward, and I needed to hear that. I really enjoyed the fun approaches to finding "you" (possibly on a more superficial level) like finding your tag line, theme song, etc. What I didn't really get were parts like "Twitter Bios and Fitting In"… I understand where she is coming from, that we cannot worry about trying to define ourselves within 140 characters, you can instantly "feel" just by visiting a social media page. But if there is going to be an entire page dedicated to this topic in a book I would think it should hold more valuable information on the topic, or leave it at simply one sentence. There were a few pages that had me saying "wait, what?". Although, I have to remind myself that in real life I do the same thing, and often jump from topic to topic, but if that sort of thing bothers you this probably isn't the book for you. The way the book is written is pretty random and can sort of be all over the place, but maybe that is the best part? I loved Rebecca's approach to making everyone feel included, reminding the reader that there is no separation and we are all light workers, we are all called for a higher purpose, and we can all find our bliss.

Sobbing!
The reason I am giving this book a 5 star rating as I really felt touched by parts to turning your light on it might have been my hormones but I was crying throughout those pages. I have just started on my soul searching journey so this was the first of a few books I am going to read. But I liked it so much that I sent it to one of my friends as a gift because I kept thinking of her as I read the book that she would get it how I was getting it. It really was an emotional journey as I read through it I will admit that some of the chapters did not flow well and that there was a lot of talking of past lives of your soul passed lives of your soul I am NOT at that point yet in my journey but I am willing to explore it. I am thinking I am going to read this again. And I feel it has also given me a new look and lease on life on how to get over Healing that I may have had that have made me feel broken and not good enough. I also gained confidence in shining my light and showing myself that I am good enough to do what I want in my passions and my hobbies.

Lovely step-by-step guide for those that have done a bit of work & need a push
I purchased this book because the author & I have had some definite similarities in our pasts and I too am a student and huge fan of Sonia Choquette. I have done a large amount of personal, spiritual and emotional work; but it's scattered over here and some of it is over there, and there's a bit more right there, ETC., so I found this book to be very helpful in pushing me to get organized to take it to the next level. She speaks a language I understand and I appreciate this; it's real, the journey is not perfect, yet the reasons to step into my light are powerful, ones I no longer want to put off. I do a lot of things to get my work out there, but after reading this, I realized I only do it half-assed, so now I feel as though I have the "permission" to move forward with my intentions. I needed this how-to, thank you:)) And best of luck to the author!

Great, inspirational read
This is the second book by Rebecca Campbell that I’ve read over the past few weeks (I actually started with “Rise Sister Rise”), and I loved it. I was once again drawn to look inwards even more with the questions that were spaced throughout the book (and I have most bookmarked to go back to, as I couldn’t seem to find the words just yet to answer the questions). It is an amazing book to read, and have the realization that there are parts of us that we close off because we have the need to “fit in” with everyone else. That there are parts that we ignore because we’re focused on the parts that we’ve become good at, so that we can trudge through a 9-5 job (or longer depending on the project). I’ve realized that since I’ve graduated with my PhD, I have let certain areas become closed off and stagnant due to the need to try to climb the scientific ladder. One of the exercises in the book is to make a list of all the things that light you up, no matter what it is—everyone is different, and that is fine. Another exercise is to write out a list of your ten most unique and eclectic mix of gifts, and to keep it growing by adding to it as you uncover more and more of your uniqueness daily/weekly/yearly. I highly recommend books by Rebecca Campbell to anyone who is working on personal development

Maravilhoso! Para quem sentiu o chamado mas não sabe direito o que fazer com isso, ou o que isso significa, esse livro é incrível. Me ajudou muito a me entender, e a entender isso q me chamou a um tempo atrás e eu ignorei. Recomendo para quem também não sabe se sentiu o chamado. É um livro muito bom!

Rebecca has such a nice writing stile. It's easy to read thanks to the creatively designed texts, with small poems between them, that really underline the meaning of the texts. Of course, the most important are the lessons from the chapters, they're extremely powerful.

Anything Rebecca writes has soul behind it, words touch you and make you feel her intention. This is one of my comfort books, highly recommend
