Invicta Men's 0420 Pro Diver Automatic Black Dial Titanium Watch

People often bash Invicta, not knowing that some of the Invicta watch lines are extraordinary, in particular the Pro-Diver Grand Diver series. This one is a Pro-Diver, not a Grand Diver. This so-called dive watch is rated at 200 meters. Even if, by chance, it is over-rated, it will at least pass the 100 meter test, which means it can swim and snorkel without worry. Recommendation: Don't take it diving to save your life. Buy a thousand dollar watch and have a diving computer with you. This model does have a screw-down crown. If you have silicon grease, then take a toothpick and coat the threads. Do this for every watch with a screw-down crown. If you have the tools, then remove the case-back and grease those threads as well. This model is made of titanium, both the case and half the bracelet parts. It weighs 120 grams including the bracelet, which makes it one of the lightest metal-case watches in my collection. It is positively my lightest watch with a metal bracelet. The 20mm lug width means I can change the bracelet to almost anything that I want. The case is 14.3mm thick. When I first received it, the bezel was too stiff to turn easily. I put a piece of silicon into the palm of my hand and rotated the bezel about a hundred times. It softened considerably and now turns like silk. The registration on the hands and bezel are spot on. Registration has to do with the accuracy of the marker placements on the dial and bezel. I calibrate all of my automatics when I receive them. Over the course of a week, I check the time against an atomic source, two or three times a day. I then plot the data onto a spreadsheet. The Seiko NH35 movement in this model performs as well as other Seikos movement watches that I have at several times the price. With the Seiko motor, my Invicta runs a little over six seconds a day. This is not only acceptable, it is spectacular for a hundred-dollar automatic watch. It hacks, hand-winds, and self-winds. The luminosity is not great. When hit with a bright light, it illuminates evenly and is readable for about three or four hours in the dark. After that, the faint glow is not bright enough for my eyes. The bezel is not illuminated except for the pip. If that is a deal-breaker for you, then you will miss out on the other great qualities of this wrist watch. The watch is good looking with contrasting grey, black and chrome. It can be worn with jeans as well as a tuxedo. It weighs very little, can go swimming, and keeps time like a Seiko. Because it is not expensive, it can be worn everyday without worrying about scratches. (I have scuffed the bracelet, but not the crystal). It is durable enough to bring on vacation because it can go swimming. And nobody is going to rob you for your Invicta.

This Invicta dive watch is just about as good as the Seiko dive watches I have that cost three or four times as much. It arrived in pristine condition. The lightweight titanium case and band feel and look great on my wrist. The watch is constructed with good attention to detail. With inexpensive watches, I can usually feel a lot of backlash (free play) when adjusting the time with the stem pulled out to the time-setting position. Not with this watch though, turning the stem is as precise and smooth as it should be. The crown is large and wide so turning it is easy on the fingertips. The crown screws smoothly onto the case because the threads are cut well. The Japanese movement inside hand winds, hacks (stops the watch from running to match time precisely), and keeps accurate time for a mechanical watch. Laser etching on the back looks good and is easy to read. The bezel was initially a little stiff to turn but now turns great after some use. This watch is a bargain for the cost, almost too good to be true.

I like it. I think Titanium is cool. This one is so accurate but luck of the draw has more to do with it than being this model. I am so out of fashion but I hear that larger watches are in. This is a little larger than a lot of divers that run about 40mm. This is 45mm. I do not have small wrists but I also don't have huge ones. Likely just a little larger than average. Timex and other store brands off the shelf are a little tight. Well I think this looks good on my wrist. I don't think it overwhelms so it actually looks very masculine. I think it would look good on most guys. I posted some pictures, two of this and one of a 40mm diver. Now I want to share some info because I think it might natter to some. I still give it 5 stars because this watch is what it is not what I consider a flaw. Titanium is much lighter than Steel. Just on feel alone I would say half the weight of my 40mm diver. Some might like, I mean as big as it is it is very light. Funny how I sometimes connect weight with quality and watch weight has never been so great as to cause me any issue. I know why it is light but some might like some maybe not. OK and maybe the biggest point. Once again not a flaw but a reality of titanium. It is softer than Steel. It scratches more. I am gental on my watches but I have scuffs. Yea I called them scuffs because not really scratches. Fatter and not going through the surface more like rubs. Most of mine are by the clasp like from opening and closing or resting on surfaces maybe arm of a chair. So it will scratch easily, keeping it flawless will be much harder than Steel. To some that might not matter. I think it looks good both for size and the titanium. Pictures show 45mm vs 40mm

Before anything else: *If you want accuracy, buy quartz *Titanium for better or worse is not steel This is an automatic watch with a NH35A movement with 24 jewels, made by Seiko under the 4R36 name. It has 21600 vibrations/h and a reserve of at least 41h. The specifications admits a -25 s to +35 s deviation per day at 23C. The watch must resist a magnetic field of 4,800 A/m. I've been wearing it for a week and so far it gains ~5s during the day (9 to 24h), the key to keep the precision resides in the way it lays during the night. The watch slows depending on how it rest. In my particular case, I noticed that when it lays over the 9 it slows 2s/night. Over the 3 doesn't slow anything. I still have to try over 6, over 12, face up, face down and worn. Basically the key to keep the accuracy is to compensate the daily gain during the night, but so far I'm achieving +2s/d, which compared with the specifications is pretty good. As you could see this watch, as every automatic, requires some special cares and if you don't feel like doing this maintenance you will probably end up leaving it in the bottom of a drawer. The first thing that you will do is try to fit the watch to your wrist, the Invicta people have thought that the average customer would appreciate that the bracelet comes with all the links, instead an average size (ironic mode OFF). If you are not planning to buy the Invicta Watch Sizing Tool, you can always copy me and use a common pliers and a simple clip. In my case I had to remove 3 links and took over 10 min. Regarding the water-tightness, and taking advantage that I work in a lab, I tested it up to 12 bar on a water chamber for half an hour and the watch doesn't complained at all. Just REMEMBER to never adjust the time when the watch is wet, and to screw down the crown to finger-tight. About the external appearance, the watch looks exactly how it looks in the pictures. The two tones of the titanium look really good. In my opinion the big bezel is almost cheesy but still ok. The Cyclops lens is about 2x and the date doesn't fill the frame, that's really too bad. The transparent back case is delightful, the design of the counterweight is classy and the movement is hypnotic the first days. The big bezel mentioned before shows a bit of resistance and makes a clinky noise (I wouldn't call that sound). It may be a con if you actually use it for something, but a pro for people like me that barely uses it as it stays on the right place. The bezel is besides incongruous with the materials. Having a titanium case and bracelet, why use a stainless steel bezel with aluminium numbers? If you thought about compatibility with other models and minimizing cost you are probably right! Last but not least, why to buy the 0420 instead the 8926OB which is exactly the same model but made of steel and 30% cheaper? The answer: TITANIUM If you like to feel a heavy weight pulling down your wrist (like most of the users defend) this watch is not for you. Weight is not a synonym of quality at all. This watch is light as a feather, and the thermal conductivity of titanium will make you (literally) forget that the watch is there. Since it's a diver's watch you may probably want a material that doesn't corrodes as easily as iron, which is the main element in steel. Titanium include an oxide film that can't corrode or rust Did you know that every time that you wet a steel watch with salty water you have to clean it deeply with tap water? Unfortunately I'm too lazy for that ;) Titanium is also about 30 percent stronger than steel but weighs about half as much. To prove that I'm not a titanium fanboy, I'll also highlight that titanium scratches more easily and visibly. (TIP:you can remove this scratches by using one of those rubber pen eraser) In a nutshell: Pros: Price, overall quality, good movement Cons: Bezel, insufficient cyclops lens, bracelet adjustment

Update 11/1/2021. It's 9 years now that I have had this Invite. i did order a new Titanium band from Invicta and that was $65. The watch itself is still going strong. The bezel is nearly flawless after all these years. This has been the most rugged and wonderful watch. Very light weight and does not feel cheap at all. So far it is keeping time to within a few seconds every third day. No problems with the bezel, turns just fine. Very happy with the price point and Invicta. Update - 12/23/14. I have had this watch for two years now. It still looks very good. There is not one scratch on the crystal. Not even a mark. I am very hard on my watches. I wear them until they are literally worn out. I wear them while doing things that are damaging to the watch face, bracelet and tend to get them very dirty too. This Invicta has held up better than other watches that I have destroyed in a two year period. Very happy with the product. I would recommend Invicta and would most certainly buy their watches again. Update - 1/3/17. I have had this watch for four years now. The outer rotating bezel numbers are starting wear off in the area that my sleeve touches the watch. The crystal watch face now has one very tiny scratch. Amazing that a non-sapphire watch face has held up this well. It still keeps very good time. Wear it every day and have yet to have to wind it manually, daily wear keeps it "wound". All in all a very good watch that I would not hesitate recommending. Bumped it to 5 stars too. Update - 2/19/18. Year five with this watch. Still going strong. A little more fading on the outer rotating bezel. Still NOT ONE scratch on the watch face. If this watch is still available I would not hesitate to order another.

I just got my invicta 0420 delivered today and I have to tell ya, it is a seriously handsome watch. I thought it looked amazing in the photos, but it is 10 times nicer looking in person. When deciding what i was looking for in a watch, i considered the size and weight, material and automatic over quartz. This watch has good size , but not oversized, its made of titanium so the weight is not heavy, but not too light and the automatic mechanism on this particular watch can't be beat! I will write another review after I've had it a while to comment on how it runs and if I've had any issues, but if it runs half as good as it looks, I'll be happy. I know there's are a lot of negative reviews for invicta, but I researched this particular watch thoroughly and made sure it was the newer version of the 0420 with the 24 jewel NH35 A movement (Seiko!!!) and it is amazing. I think the majority of the negative reviews this watch received were on the older 21 jewel NH25 A movement model which I hear is still sold. Just contact the seller to assure you are receiving the 24 jewel NH35 A model and I think you'll be more than happy! Anyway I've never written a review before but I'm so excited about this watch I wanted to try to help anyone who has been looking at it on Amazon like I have been for the last 3 months know that it is a fantastic buy! This is my 3rd pro diver and very pleased so far. Had been looking for a replacement for my 40mm pro diver after I’d dropped it on concrete and it started running way to fast to deal with. Well, I won the Nh35a lottery with this one, great affordable movement and if you can get lucky with a good one, very accurate. So far seeing +/- 0 seconds after a few days on the wrist. Fingers crossed it doesn’t shift much. In my experience, with a light tuning you can reliably get +/- 4 seconds a day on these movements. Also loving the titanium, was worried it would be too big as I’m used to the 40mm, but it’s as light if not lighter than the 40mm stainless steel. Also really like the matte finish, don’t love the polished accent on the bracelet, as it looks like it’s just a plating, but not a big deal for me. The bracelet, including the clasp, appear to be solid titanium, nice weight savings. Plus I just like the more exotic materials, have a bronze pro dive that’s a great show piece but a bit bulky for everyday. All in all, very pleased with over all fit and finish and, for the price, it’s a whole lot of watch. Would certainly recommend, but will update here if I have any issues or other thoughts

Let me first say -- I was very surprised by this watch and I really love it. I'm not a collector who buys pieces for prestige. I buy watches that are attractive to me and that I will wear. I'm not investing for retirement with my watch collection. My daily wear watch is a smartwatch, but I have a Spaceview conversion, a Timex from the 70s that has sentimental value to me, a Swatch that just looks cool to me, an EcoDrive, etc., etc. No luxury watches, several fashion watches, but my collection is growing and I'll get into more expensive stuff as I find things I like at price points I want to spend. I'm not much of a quartz person, as I am intrigued by the intricacy of a mechanical movement, and seeing this watch was an automatic drove my interest up. My impression of Invicta had been that they produce huge and in many instances gaudy pieces that are way more flashy than I like to wear. I think about their Marvel or other themed watches and they just don't work for me and I hadn't looked closely at them for a long time. Then I saw a review of this watch on a YouTube channel and was surprised at the look (clearly an homage to an SKX/Submariner style) and at the price point thought I'd take a shot at this since I didn't own a dive watch. This watch is awesome. It has great weight and heft to it, which might turn some folks off, but I like to know that my watch is there, and most of what I wear is on a bracelet (though I'm starting to lean more to Zulu/NATO straps for some of my pieces). The bracelet has a safety clasp and closes very tightly. I had zero issues removing links to size it to my wrist, and I will say that if you're having trouble with the band coming apart, it's likely because you or the mall kiosk folks didn't put the band back together properly. This is a standard cotter pin bracelet, nothing special or extraordinary about it, and if you do things correctly, it stays together just fine. The lume isn't terrific on the watch, but it's not a $5K+ dive watch, either. I think Seiko does a pretty good job of this, but to get into the Prospex line with better lume is going to cost you a smidge more, and obviously it isn't a Submariner. Overall it's not bad, it just doesn't last all that long, and it really does need sunlight to 'charge up'. The bezel is uni-directional, and has a small, small amount of negative play in it, but for the most part it is tight, has good adherence to its click matrix and works for marking countdowns like it should. I found the screw-down crown to be tight and it does its job perfectly -- it keeps water out. I didn't like the grinding that I could hear and feel from it, though, so I put some silicone grease on it and it seems to have resolved the issue. Invicta could take a little more care on that front, even though this isn't a high dollar piece, quality and customer experience around quality should be a top priority. If you've gotten water into the case, the first thing I'd look at is whether you actually screwed the crown back down properly. If done right, water won't get in this case barring a flaw, which mine absolutely did not have. One of the stylistic elements I like is that while this is clearly a style homage to a Submariner, you're not going to mistake this as a knock-off. The brand name is engraved in the side of the case, the hands have the distinguishable Invicta logo as one end, and the Invicta brand is clearly marked on the face. The titanium case is unique in its coloring and does stand out from other stainless steel looks, though I am stainless guy. I personally think the two-tone grey of the bracelet looks really nice and helps make the appearance unique. This can be worn equally well with a jacket and tie as with swim trunks at the pool or jeans and a T-shirt. The NH35A Seiko movement the watch uses is used by all sorts of micro-brands and is an absolute beast of a movement. Invicta tries to spruce things up with a reveal case back, and does customize the weight by painting it yellow. There isn't a lot to take in on this movement that makes a reveal case back that great of an addition, but it's a nice touch at this price point for sure -- there aren't a ton of watches in this range that try to make these touches, so that's a big plus. The watch keeps excellent time, which it should, since it's using the NH35A. This isn't my everyday wear watch and I don't keep it in a winder when not wearing, but in my initial testing after getting it I saw less than -6 seconds in a week's wear. Pretty good and well within spec. Highly recommend this piece if it suits your style.

Por este precio no se puede hacer ninguna crítica, mejoraría alguna cosa como el tacto del bisel de buceo, pero me ha costado 83 euros y es de titanio entero, con eslabones de armis macizos...un chollo!!! Actualización 02/08/2022: La tapa trasera de cristal, por donde se puede ver mecanismo, está muy arañada tras llevarle a la playa, creo que es de un material bastante mediocre, observo alguna particula suelta en el interior pegada a dicha tapa. El lumen es muy débil y adelanta una media de 23 segundos...El cristal principal del reloj tiene reflejos indeseados que dificultan su lectura, además de una apariencia lechosa, sospecho que haya algo de condensación leve. INSISTO, ME HA COSTADO MUY POCO, NO SE LE PUEDE EXIGIR LA CALIDAD DE UN RELOJ DE 300 Ó 400 EUROS.

Escribo esta opinión dos años después de haber adquirido este reloj para no sólo escribir sobre mis primeras impresiones. Básicamente el reloj es una joya, tiene un desempeño excepcional, aun siendo un reloj mecánico su precisión está en más o menos 1 segundo al día. Se encuentra a la altura de dos cronómetros oficiales certificados (COSC) que poseo, un MIDO y un TISSOT ambos con maquinaria ETA con reserva de 80 horas. El diseño es muy bonito aunque sea una copia barata de un Rolex, es muy ligero y resistente y la hermeticidad es espectacular. Lo he usado en el mar y no lo he ni enjuagado ya que la corona es atornillable y el titanio no sufre de la corrosión por el agua salada. Aunque no me gustan muchísimo los relojes INVITA este es sin lugar a dudas una excelentísima compra.

I own many watches, Tissots and Citizens, All my Tissots are high end with Automatic movement and the Citizens are ECO Drive and Atomic. I also own a large collection of Casio G-Shock all Solar powered. I took a decision never to own a battery operated watch that needs replacement. I don't want to open any of my watches if I don't have to. I wear the Tissots and Citizens at work (Business Casual) and the Casios on the weekends. I started to shift from Casios with their military look and was looking for a metal bracelet watch for the weekend. Came across Invicta and didn't know much about it. I watched and read many reviews on line and decided to buy the Pro Diver Titanium. The Delivery was very fast and was in perfect brand new condition as advertised. I was shocked with how well made this watch is. It looked great!!. Light weight because of the Titanium bracelet. The watch looks way more expensive that the price I paid for it. It is fairly large and looked great on my medium size rest. I adjusted the time based on my Atomic Citizen and I'm glad to say that it gained a few seconds only in one week! This is excellent for an automatic watch and on par with my other high end Tissots. It has a Japanese made movement that is manufactured by Seiko. I'm so impressed with Invicta and seriously considering buying another one with a stainless steel bracelet this time. I started selling most of my Casios and Invicta is going to be my new weekend watches. I highly recommend this watch, it has an excellent value and you are getting a lot of watch for your money.

Spettacolare, è il secondo Invicta che compro e sono felicissimo di aver scelto questo modello, il cofanetto grigio opaco con cui viene presentato già fa capire che all' interno trovate una chicca, leggero, con bracciale a doppio colore ( opaco/lucido), fa innamorare al primo sguardo, messo al polso è una goduria... Ho già un gran diver e un acqualand oltre a un Seiko kinetic acquistato nel 1999 per cui sono sicuro dell' affidabilità di questo meccanismo, straconsiglio di comprare questo modello e se lo si trova in offerta come ho fatto io (89€) non esitate, sarete felici come bambini😁👍 date uno sguardo alle foto allegate per capire dimensioni tra i tre sovranominati,
