This UV Flashlight is a Scorpions Worst Enemy! Keep Several Around the House....
Awesome Little UV Flashlight. Don't let its small size make you think this light won't find Scorpions, it will! We have 2-large UV flashlights that require 6-AA batteries and they use & eat batteries like they're candy treats. This small UV flashlight only needs 3-AA batteries and it's size is super handy. For anyone new to hunting & locating scorpions this little monster is fully capable to do the job. Now it may not have the 'distance' seeking power of the larger lights, but it is more than capable of finding them very efficiently. I wish we had bought this as our first scorpion light instead of the last. We really didn't need this as a 3rd light but at the price and high ratings we decided to buy it and try it...Yes it works great! As a plus, we'll save the cost of the flashlight in just using less batteries in a very short time. We take finding and eliminating these potent monsters very serious. My wife got tagged on her foot and we spent 9 hours in a hospital until she recovered enough to be let go.

Bright and reliable
Bright, Reliable, and Worth Every Penny This LED flashlight seriously exceeded my expectations. The brightness is clear, powerful, and perfect for everything from nighttime walks to finding things in dark corners. It feels solid and well-made, not flimsy at all, and the grip is comfortable in your hand. Also a good match if using a UV glue!

works a little too good
Works great, I bought to see yooperlite rocks. Warning, if you are easily freaked out do not shine around house too much, (bathrooms, laundry rooms, bedrooms) You will want to immediately call a cleaning service. (LOL) . Especially since I take pride in keeping a clean house.

Does NOT illuminate bed bugs
I specifically bought this because I wanted to check my furniture for bed bugs as I found one recently (thankfully it was an unfertilized female) and got worried I had an infestation I didn't know about. I know what to look for when hunting for them and I thought a UV light making them show up would be a lot easier than eyeballing it. I tested the light on a bed bug I have captured in a sealed plastic bag and it does not illuminate them. After checking my bed, I only saw lint and other various things show up but no bed bugs. I checked with my normal flashlight (the flashlight I have is bright enough to literally set my bed on fire on the highest setting) and didn't find anything. Now, about the flashlight itself. It's built really well, has a good heft to it. The light is really bright (which after 5 minutes without sunglasses, I ended up giving myself a sunburn on my eyes) and makes stuff illuminate REALLY well. It's a great little flashlight and is excellent at pointing out stuff that you can't normally see. I definitely recommend this if you're worried about pet stains and such but not bed bugs as it just doesn't work that way. I do not suggest you use this in your bathroom if you have even 1% of OCD because this will make your bathroom look like someone diced up a living pig and it flailed around for half an hour until it died. Absolutely traumatizing to see that lol.

Scorpion hunter
We have a lot of scorpions here and they are tough. Barrier sprays do almost nothing against them, and I've tried them all. Even hitting them square-on with powerful products often doesn't kill them, at least not for a while. In fact, these poisons usually just kill the spiders and gekkos, and the scorpions come back stronger with no natural predators around. Whenever possible I like to let living things live, but nothing has stopped these creatures from coming into my home to seek refuge from the Texas heat. I'm tired of my kids getting stung trying to get dressed, my dogs getting stung trying to protect us, and guests being scared half out of their wits on a regular basis. A few weeks ago my son's young friend had a scorpion fall on his back in the middle of the night. A week before that my dog was stung and went into respiratory distress. Evidently he's become allergic. Now, after 8 years, this is really war. And this flashlight is my high-tech weaponry. This flashlight makes scorpions light up bright green in the night. In combo with some ultra-fashionable orange uv/blue-blocking glasses, they'll light up in the daytime as well, though not as brightly. Armed with the killing tool of my choice, I fire this baby up and sweep the indoors; looking in closets, under sofas, behind everything. I've found a good number in the house this way. But the real "fun" is outdoors. The first night this light helped me find and kill at least 50! The flashlight has strong uv output, and very little visible light so it works very well for this purpose. I can sweep an area quickly, and the scorpions light up very well. I can be quite thorough without spending the whole night. Using this light and the information gained over multiple nights, I have been able to identify where the beasts tend to be concentrated, and, with patience, where they hide. Whenever possible I kill the scorpions manually, my favorite tool being a BBQ spatula, or if they are high up or in a tight spot I use a petroleum-based spray to kill them (eventually). With the spray I also target their hiding spots, like weep holes, the expansion joints of the driveway, the crack in the back step, etc.. I don't spray everything because I don't want to kill the geckos that hunt them. In this manner I have made a huge impact on their population, and I'm finding fewer and fewer each night. Before the war began I was seeing an average of four a day indoors. It's been a few days now since I've seen one in the house. Eventually I foresee reducing the hunts to once every two weeks during their season, and experiencing significant relief from this plague we've been enduring for so long. I'm really happy with my purchase, and the results I've already seen. The flashlight is well made, it feels heavy and solid, and puts out a lot of uv. The battery compartment is a little different. Be very careful to install the batteries correctly, they go in in odd directions, so mind the polarity markings. As far as battery life is concerned, I'm pleased there too. We haven't had to change them yet, and this thing has seen many hours of use since it arrived. Especially once I figured out I could use it to find previously unknown doggie indiscretions and teach my son about the importance of good aim. I'm really happy I bought this, and happy too that I found a good one, because the reviews of some other brands weren't that encouraging. Hope this helps.

The 51 LED UV lights seem to be the "sweet spot" for price, quality, durability - better than the 100 LED models.
I live in Arizona, and we have scorpions in our backyards - sometimes LOTS of them if you don't do something to keep them in check. Periodic broadcast-type bug spraying (like the kind from exterminators) is minimally effective at keeping scorpion populations down once they hit critical mass --- the best method to put a dent in their population is to hunt them at night when they are out and to spray them directly with a strong solution to eradicate them. Enter these UV flashlights - they are a staple for anyone living in Arizona who is serious about battling scorpions. I started using these a few years back when I noticed my yard was being overrun. I live in the inner city, and for the first 10-15 years I lived here they were not a problem. But things changed a few years back and now I have to battle them routinely and have finally got ahead of the curve in eliminating them. For two seasons, I tried the 100 LED flashlights on the market thinking that more power was better. Well, they did OK, but with the 3 100 LED flashlights I bought I experienced the same issues. First, they run hot.... REAL hot. Then, they need six AA batteries to run, which is a substantial number (and why they run hot). I use rechargeable Eneloops, I would not even consider Alkaline battery in these 100 LED lights - they burn them up so quickly you would spend a FORTUNE on batteries if you had to use Alkaline. Which leads to the biggest problem with the 100 LED lights - they burn up battery life quickly, and real only stay at their brightest for 15-20 min before becoming noticeably dimmer. I experienced this on three different brands of 100 LED lights - note however all three lights looked the same and probably made in the same Chinese factory! (also DON'T overspend on the UV Beast model - it is exactly the same light as the others at half the price, don't believe the marketing hype the seller claims). The biggest issue with the 100LED light models - they were ruining my Eneloop batteries. It must be because they run so hot, or maybe they are working too hard and the design of six batteries and 100 LEDs needs better engineering. One final point about the 100 LED models - they are HEAVY! Next, I bought this 51 LED model. First off, it only takes 3 AA batteries to work - HALF of what the 100 LED models need. Then, it runs cooler. MUCH cooler. Finally, it stays consistently bright for much longer - sure it is not as bright as the 100LED model on fresh batteries - but after 30 min the 51 LED is still going strong where the 100 LED is hot and has dimmed considerably. Using only three batteries vs six batteries for 100 LED models seems to be the sweet spot for keeping the light cool - and NO MORE ruining my Eneloops. Plus, the 51 LED model is SO much lighter and easier to carry for extended scorpion hunting sessions. ( I have a large yard, and I extend the search to the alley and other breeding spots). For those in the market for an LED light that has a little "oomph", and if you are looking at the 100 LED and 51 LED models and wondering what to get and how much you really need, then I hope my experience helps you. Sometimes less is more, and bigger is not always better and from my experience with UV flashlights this became glaringly true!! Try the both for yourself and see what you think. Thanks for reading.

The included instructions are WORTHLESS
Fast Shipping. Arrived as described. Works well. The instructions that come with are WORTHLESS! They caution you to install the 6 AA batteries with the correct polarity, or damage may occur. There is NO indication in the instructions or on the battery carrier which way is the correct polarity. I took a chance, and installed the batteries with the negative end against the spring like it is in other devices. I got lucky and this worked. However I repeat the instructions are garbage. It is just intuitive dumb luck that I got the batteries installed correctly.

100% Works. Worth it.
This DOES work. It is definitely a real UV light. I bought it to look for old cat pee spots. It works. Use it at night. Some pee spots may need you to get closer with the light. Because of urine content. But I've tested it. It works. For being a "fun" black light. It's pretty strong. Don't look at it. I recommend this. It works.
