Can they be cut in half for soft water?

I cut them in half for smaller quick wash loads and live in a soft water area. They still work perfectly.

Why are they so much more expensive per wash than conventional detergent in bottles?

I don't know - maybe because less are made but my daughter paid half as much as me - around £9 instead of £18 on an alternative sit
