Closer

This Joy Division album is what first introduced me to the bands music many years ago. This particular vinyl edition of the album is completely identical to the album when it was first released, and this includes the artwork, LP sleeve, as well as the texture of the jacket and sleeve. Nothing has changed and I appreciate that. Each song on this album is a gem. I cannot find any fault with any song Joy Division has recorded. Another great album I recommend is titled Unknown Pleasures, and a vinyl copy is being shipped my way as I write this review. Both of the aforementioned albums are great to start with, or if you are already fond of Joy Division’s music, you need them in your collection if you do not already!!!

Superb vinyl pressing. There is no noise and the record us completely flat. Beautiful presentation and an magical music! Very happy with this purchase.

A beautiful album that captures the feeling of being isolated and in despair perfectly. Wish I had discovered Closer earlier in my life but it's here to stay now.

The same applies to all three: unknown pleasures, closer, and substance. Remasters from 2007 The bad Master is slightly too bright so vocals and drums tend sound edgy. If you reduce the frequencies with an EQ you will be good to go. The good The audio sounds as it was taken from a good source, big open sound and lots of definition.

Great pressing of a classic album! Arrived quickly and in great condition. The sides aren't easily identifiable, but really, that's my only complaint.

For anyone wondering, this is the Rhino reissue. They do a nice job here on this classic Joy Division album. 180 grams of essential post punk.

I absolutely love this album in my opinion a bit better than unknown pleasures but both really great albums anyways. Fast shipping!

Zum Album an sich gibt es nur wenig zu sagen. Das zweite und letzte Studioalbum von Joy Division, wegbereitende und einflussreiche Post-Punk Gruppe. Während ich persönlich Unknown Pleasures bevorzuge, ist dieses Album dennoch die 5 Sterne wert. Die Vinyl ist in hervorragendem Zustand. Keine Wellen, Kratzer oder Schmutz. Klingen tut sie auch fantastisch, der Ton ist sehr satt und voll, der Gesang geht unter der Instrumentation nicht unter. Einziges Manko, die beiden Seiten der Platte sind nicht unterschiedlich beschriftet, man muss also die einzelnen Tracks abzählen um herauszufinden welche Albumhälfte man sich nun anhören will.
