Extra Strength Hua Tuo Medicated Patch (5 Patches Per Box) (6 Boxes) (Solstice)

For me, these patches work well to subdue knee and hip pain for many hours. They adhere well. I usually wear them at home rather than when I'm going to be in close proximity to others, as they do have a strong medicinal smell.

I'm doing acupuncture for a pinched nerve in my neck. My doctor actually told me about these. They work very well. I can't promise it works as long as they claim but it's close. These work better than Salonpas patches for me and it's all natural. I LOVE HOW THESE WORK FOR MY PAIN!

I could not wait to try these. I am a Salanpas user, and I find the size that is most available too small. When I saw the dimentions and ingredients on these, I was super excited. I get breakthrough pain and spasms from dystonia. It is tough because as a middle aged person, I want to remain active, so I cannot have higher doses of the control medications, and I also cannot let the spasms get too bad or I will have other physical problems. The salanpas are great, but I had to put two for every spasm area. These are MUCH better!!! The ingerdients considered active are nearly the same, but additional ingrdients are different, and much more helpful. I had a super stiff day with spasms, so I put three on top, middle and lower spots of my right side. It took about 30 minutes to start feeling the patches starting to work. The fabric is of a much nicer quality - more of a canvas - and there are breathing holes in it. This is important for people who may be allergic to adherents as I am. The breathing holes alow for the skin to not get sweaty from the product which opens the poors and creats a burn. I cannot leave the salanpas on for more than an hour or I burn. Kinesiology tape burns me to blisters in less than two hours. So, to see the holes made me smile. There is no itching. This product made the spasms calm and pain lessen. This is no cure, no lidocane patch, or any strong product for full relieve of serious issues like dystonia, however, from the control it gives me over breakthrough pain on bad days, I imagine that a lesser pain from a sprain, bruise, overused muscle or something less severe (not requiring medical attention and medication) this would be a great help. I prefer them over salanpas. They are also a beige verses the white which is awkward on your neck no matter the color of your skin. It looks more like a cloth flex bandaide to give you an idea of color. This would be less noticable than stark white. The only con I can mention is that this is an herbal patch, and it smells like one. I don't mind the odor, but you wouldn't want to slap these on for a first date, or to go to church. It can be smelled by someone sitting next to you for sure, especially if they are freshly applied, and as they are warming up. If anyone knows your pain and discomfort, they won't mind the oder...it isn't super strong, like a Bengay or like product, but it is definately there when you open the little ziplock bag the patches are enclosed inside of. Update: I had fallen asleep with one of these patches on my back, and one on my leg. I heat up while I am sleeping. I awoke with the patches itching. When I removed both patches, they were red and raised. I do not know if it was the adhesive or the ingredients of the plaster. Since that episode, I cannot put these patches on my body without a big red rectangle welts appearing where the patch once was. The welts will remain for 3 to 5 days. The pain is helped, but the welt is not healthy looking. I have discontinued using them. I am sad about this side-effect.

The effect is very good, but it is recommended to buy it at Chinatown as it will be much cheaper.

I've been using these for years, especially for nighttime back and knee pain from lifting heavy furniture, logs, weights, etc. They give me better overnight results than rub-on creams and ointments.

These are great patches and help immensely. Would purchase again and again.

My husband was first introduced to this product through his acupuncturist. He swears they give almost instant pain relief. He uses them for a shoulder injury. They do smell, so you might want to wear them out in public or in close areas. Not overly strong, just an herbal smell. He doesn't like to be without them now especially if he has overused his arm.

I've tried all manner of topical analgesics for intense, persistent pain associated with an old knee injury. Over the years pain has spread to the thigh, outside of calf, hip, buttocks and low back and is further complicated by sciatica. I received regular massage and prolonged physical therapy with little or no relief. Recommended by my massage therapist Hua Tuo Medicated Plasters have been more effective than anything else in relieving pain. The plasters are flexible, elastic and adhere exceptionally well. They can be cut into halves or quarters to conserve them and cover smaller areas and seem to be equally effective in the smaller size. Each application lasts about a day. They are, however, very fragrant and the odor of camphor will follow you wherever you go. While not unpleasant some may find it objectionable.
