Set of 2 Rubber Pool Table Chalk Holders

First off the chalk holders themselves are quality rubber and hold "Master" Brand chalk extremely well. Mizerak Brand is slightly smaller dimensionally and will fit very loosely. For personal use the holders work extremely well. So you can stop reading here unless you are interested in my Community Center experience. I volunteer at a community center with lots of teens. Loose chalk was disappearing and a lot of it went into the two pool tables, disrupting the return of the balls. (The tables, when taken apart to have the felt replaced had 65 pieces of billiard chalk inside the frames.) The modification: The tethers are pretty short, but are easily replaced with longer string. I used yellow construction string that is used to lay out foundations, etc. It is thin and very strong. I found that even after mounting the chalk holders the kids were stealing them or ripping them off the lengthened tethers I had substituted for the shorter original lengths. This was due to the small retaining washer used inside the holder, which when pulled on hard enough would slip through the hole in the end of the rubber holder. I substituted two washers, one that fit the circumference of the bottom of the holder and a smaller washer (but still larger than the small original washer) on top of the bottom washer to tie the new tether to. These washers together make it impossible for the string to be pulled out of the chalk holder. Since that time the chalk holders have never come apart, although they were still getting stolen intact. I just recently bought more chalk holders and made changes to the mounting system and will see how they withstand the onslaught of teenage boys over the next couple of months.

For the price they are cool - the strong was too short in my opinion so I used the cool little orange string from our ear plugs at work & hung them with the eye hooks removed from the scoring beads reviewed above - Also they are a little deep - but them anyway!! Just shove some electrical tape inside to stop the chalk from going so deep down -- it'll make scraping that much easier - trust me C'mon for $5.00 - just get them

I was having a party and needed to have these replaced. Not only were they exactly what I needed but they arrived quickly. They are hanging prominently from my pool table as I write this and I could not be happier with my new chalk holders.

If you are a serious pool player these chalk holder's will be in the same place time after time. No more surching and no more miscues.
