Review: Very nice complete deck of tarot cards - I just got this set Oct.3,2015. I noticed that some of the reviews here are older. I purchased these cards because my friend got a set as a gift and showed them to me. These cards are based on the Raider Waite tarot. They are a nice set of cards. What you get is you get the cards the book, two little cards with tarot spreads plus you get a paper poster with the Celtic Cross traot spread. It is not just a book or just a deck. The set that I got cost around 15.00. As some have posted here they did not get all the court cards kings queens knights pages or they got duplicates I did not I got all 78 cards correctly no duplicates and no missing court cards. These cards are nice for someone starting out in tarot. I find the explanations to be simple and very understandable. I have my favor authors and they are the old school authors like A.E, Waite himself and Eden Gray. I do like Rachel Pollack and I also like Mary K. Greer I put them in the same good graces as the old masters of tarot. I also have many tarot decks including Aleister Crowley's Thoth deck. The Thoth deck is a deck set apart from other decks. I have Doreen Virtue's Archangel Oracle Cards and these are not read reversed at all. Either way they fall they are read right side up. I did several readings with these and found them to be very in tuned with the seeker of the reading. I find many of the modern day authors put their own spin on the cards and some list way to many could be or might be or to many meanings for one card. I too noticed that there is no meaning of reverse cards as there is with the other authors I have mentioned. When I do a reading I never turn a reversed card right side up. I leave it and read it as it falls. To me with a mix of cards right side up and reversed it balances out the reading. With that said in this modern day there is no set way to read the cards read them as you choose. I just keep it old school. The cards are decorative and colored nicely. This seems like a very sturdy set and is priced reasonably. Since my friend mention and her doing three readings with these cards. Three of my friends have purchased them. Although from another retailer. I saved a 1.00 usd by getting them here. Ha Ha, Review: Great Introduction to Tarrot. One caveat. - When I first got the package, the first thing I did (naturally) was pull out the cards and look at each one. They're beautifully illustrated and they all evoked emotional responses in me. They sort of lack the ancient type of mysteriousness that more traditionally illustrated cards have, but I found them more evocative and pleasant to use, although I must admit this is the first deck I've seriously attempted to use. They're sleek and shiny and there's quite a bit of subtlety in their imagery, beneath their less subtle beauty. As for the book, I followed its suggestions and methods step by step and found it to be an excellent way to learn the Tarot. The most notable thing is that it recommends that you keep a Tarot journal and fill it up with information about each card before you even attempt to do your first reading. This seemed slightly tedious, but I'm really glad I did it. When I did my first reading, all of the cards immediately made sense to me, and I didn't even have to look in the book to interpret them. I felt like I was fluent in the language of the Tarot. My first reading very clearly told me that I'm going to Germany! :) I promised a caveat, so here it is. Much of the book assumes that the Tarot is in fact magical. You will see suggestions such as charging a quartz crystal with energy and sleeping with the deck under your pillow. If you do not believe in any of this, you may find much of the book silly. My suggestion to you, if you are one of these people, is to wipe out any preconceived notions, and go along with the book's methods. Assume that the Tarot is magical and designate your time with the Tarot as a time when belief in the insistences of modern science is suspended. I think you will have a more rewarding experience if you do this. Even if you can't do that, the book is still mostly information about what each card is traditionally considered to mean, what the reading procedure entails, information about different crosses, and et cetera, so the book is still definitely quite valuable. And this package (deck + book) seems to be cheaper than most decks for sale anyhow. Happy divining!

Mine are Magical..
I was gifted the success set by somebody who had received them For free at a garage sale... I ended up Leaving them set on my living room table because I wasn't all that interested But was being polite when I accepted them... People will come over and pick up the book and maybe flip Is it over and read the back But then since they didn't really know what it was they would put it right back down... One night I got really drunk And come sunrise everybody headed their left the party or went to work Leaving me completely alone. I was crying over a guy hurting my feelings... Again. In the mist of bawling my eyes out, I saw the box of cards laying on the table. I snatched them up And began to sift through them until I came to a card where the woman's expression reminded me of my own.. I took the card out of the deck and wipe the tear off my face And then put it back in the deck. And said "that's it... I'm not crying over this dude anymore"! After that I felt guilty because in a way I claimed the cards. So have your I'm in there so I thought maybe I could use reading considering my situation... But it said you have to sleep with them for a couple nights which instigated me to then lay down and sleep it off. A couple days later I attempted to read somebody who I knew very well and after the 1st 2 cards I knew that the dream was not for him... It was directed at me and did not apply to his situation. So I finished the reading and it hit home. I wondered why it read me instead of him So I assumed it was because the cards were facing me and not him. So in his direction I delt them out And they were on point! Everything I'd been telling him for years these cards were trying to express to him. After that I was for sure that they Actually worked. So I didn't stop there... I read 44 people's tarot cards in 11 days. I don't recommend Anybody try that... Unless of course you're planning on raising consciousness extremely quickly to the point where people and reality glitches out. I was able to see A shelf in my kitchen through somebody's face. It wasn't like their face was See through... It was just one perfect large rectangle taken out of their jaw line..... I was also in a situation where the person I was talking to went dark And although I could hear him and speak to him my body was paralyzed and it felt like I had good and evil arguing about something inside of my head... What that subject was I can't be sure I could just feel them. Idk it was weird.... I compared it to Maybe God and the devil And after about 5 minutes of this I had to use every Bit of my strength to break out of the trance by trying to reach for my cigarette on the table. It was at that point I had just come to the conclusion that these 2 were not gonna be coming to a Compromise... At least not inside of me that day. So I chilled out and I focused on planning my HallowsGivings parry that was coming up. I predicted many things over those 44 days and I continued to read people for free right now it's over 350 people.. I lost count 😕 I predicted a pregnancy said to have been impossible.. The couple have been together for 14 years And had been told by 2 separate doctors that they are unable to reproduce that both parties were sterile. I told them that they were both gonna get raises and be super excited about it And it was gonna make them want to hump like rabbits And that they were very capable of getting pregnant but not to do it because they were not financially stable. About a month and a 1/2 later the guys mom calls me Super excited telling me how she's gonna be a grandma. They had both gotten raises and premonitions and I have excitement did exactly what I told them not to do... They ended up getting pregnant having the baby getting a mobile home and I think one of them lost their Job Which caused financial and emotional strain Is in which ended their relationship. Predictions among other things like people being robbed, New jobs, Change of residence, Break ups... You name it. Now I can't say this is the weirdest part because it's all Pretty crazy But the 23rd person I read didn't even come over for a reading that day Instead she came over with a bottle And a big Box of random liquors to donate to my house for the upcoming party. She was in the process of moving Because her girlfriend moved out So she was Really upset and in a bad place Mentally. Me knowing this convinced her to sit down on the floor and let me deal out her cards. But before I could even reach for them she happened to look up and see them and asked me... Where did you get those from? I told her my friend had Come over and gifted them to me... She asked me who my friend was and it turned out to be the girl she gifted them too from her garage sale!!! It turns out that everything the ex had left there she gave way... And that her ex had gotten them as a gift From her ex girlfriend from before and those were gifted to that girlfriend buy somebody else... When I got these cards they were brand new nobody had even opened the Box or the book!! It sounds to me like these exchanged hands like 5 times before they got to me. And that's what they say you gotta get them as a gift for them to really work! So if you are looking to give a gift to somebody.. This is a good one lol The reason for buying a set On Amazon is because I'm opening up a store and I'm going to resell them... And if I get brave enough I might Decide to eventually give card readings things out of my store, too? Anyways I guess this would be a 5 star. Everything comes nice box!! I didn't get the whole Box when I received mine so it was a nice surprise... I had gotten them for my new dude Last year... And when I saw them on sale on Amazon I didn't hesitate to grab one for my shop!!! The beginner's tarot Is the perfect set to get a good feeling And knowing of the cards. It comes with a bunch of Layouts in the look so they You can get a feel of which one feels right for you to use. Is long ones or short ones... My short ones always ended up taking at least an hour when it came to reading somebody... People ask me why I don't charge for readings And I tell them that's because you shouldn't have to pay to learn about yourself... I felt like a Earth angel Is doing my spiritual lightwork. I call myself a lightworker... Not a tarot card reader. I'm actually Is a ghost hunter... lol Anyways The book is very descriptive and well written. Since I've been considering making my own deck and while researching... i realize that making these cards and book was not easy although it's card easy tarot. They had to put a lot of hard work and dedication into making this….. It's got a full size guide book. It reminds me of that saying that Rome wasn't Built-in A-day. OK I'm gonna stop rambling and hope this lets me send this...lol I just thought everybody would enjoy the story

A good starting place for Tarot Cards.
Book: Does the book teach you everything about Tarot? No, and no book will. It is however a good starting place. It is just one view point, but it gives a variety of interpretations for the cards and a few spreads to begin with. I found the book to be easy to read. Using a few of the tips for learning the card in the book, I find I rarely had to refer to the book after a little practice. If you really want to get into Tarot, you will have to explore elsewhere eventually. Cards: The cards of about the same as your average playing card as far as material. This means they will wear down about after using them every day for months; but so long as you treat them well, they will last a good time. They are noticeably bigger than your average playing cards and will take some practice before you can learn to handle them flawlessly. I enjoyed the imagery across the cards. The artwork is consistent and follows a general pattern between cards and suits. Overall it is a decent place to start practicing Tarot, and eventually you will need to move on to more materials and opinions as you grow.

Beautiful artwork RWS deck plus extras for an amazing price - although my deck arrived with 5 damaged cards.
If it were not for the fact that 5 of my cards had very noticeable scratches on them, I would give this item 5 stars. I LOVE the artwork of this deck. For a beginner's kit, this is a great value. There are a lot of advantages to beginning your tarot practice using a Rider-Waite compatible deck, and this is one of the most visual stunning Rider-Waite compatible decks on the market. The colors are so vibrant and I find that really helps stimulate my creativity. The images make this deck very intuitively readable, especially the minor arcana. The meaning of most cards will be obvious intuitively just from looking at them. The court cards and Major arcana always require more investment in learning and understanding them, because the complexity and flexibility of their meanings cannot really be encapsulated in one image - that's just the way of Tarot. The book included with this set is way better than the little white card-sized book that comes with most decks, and it will be great to help you get started if you are just beginning to explore Tarot and don't want to spend more money. Eventually you will want a much more in-depth book (or three or ten LOL) if you get hooked and decide to take Tarot seriously enough to begin investing time and resources into your practice, but this book is a great start for free. Considering the average mass market Tarot deck costs between $20-35 USD without a real book, this kit gives you a fantastic deck, a genuinely helpful beginning book, and even a nifty little layout sheet to make it easy to remember the most iconic Tarot spread (the Celtic Cross) for about $13 USD (about half the price of just a deck with no extras). I really cannot imagine a better way to begin the Tarot journey, and in fact I bought this set as a gift for a brand new spiritual enthusiast. I really wish the cards were in better shape, so I removed one star for quality control issues, but overall I still think it's a great investment! :)

Love the cards, pushing through the book
I saw these cards online and wanted to get them to help learn the tarot a bit better, I had literally been flipping through pages wearing out the book with the meanings in it on my Ryder Waite deck and still not remembering much at all it was stressing me out. I got this deck, and I AM IN LOVE with the images on the cards, they are so beautiful, I felt these cards were made for me the second I opened them. I really can't wait to read with them. I started with the book and honestly I haven't much gotten past the first few pages, I don't really get the approach in the sense that several places in the first few pages, it cautions not to jump ahead "for your own good" or please follow this method " I will explain later" it has left me unsure I would even want to finish the book, if someone is writing a book and cautions something for your own good it makes sense they would either caution you and move on to the next point and or if they needed to expand on the caution they just would, so that part leaves a bit to be desired, but I will definitely be back once I have made it through and started doing some readings to let you know how it goes. Imagery 5 Stars feel of cards 5 Stars Book, I will let you know once I get through it

Amazing beautiful artistic design.
These cards are beautifully designed, and the book gives a good step by step approach to learning the Tarot for beginners. I completely agree with this author's statements about making these cards your own definitions from intuition and understanding provided to you. I love the price and the definitions and explanations of the card reading process, along with the spreads provided. This set is for those that believe in or identify with mystic, psychic and spiritual based ideas. If that does not apply to you than you may be disappointed with the card's explanations as they also incorporate the elements (earth, air, fire, water). One issue I have with this book as well as others is some of the rituals that the writers suggest the reader to engage in, like sleeping with the deck under your pillow, wrapping the deck in cloth etc. before using them. Since, I do not believe that rituals are what makes these cards accurate, with Tarot cards or any other types of divination tool. I strongly believe that we are the tool of divination that is channeling our energy from spirit into the cards, or pendulum, etc. Therefore; I suggest that each person use what the author says as suggestions, not a must do process. Again these cards are wonderful, beautiful and of course accuracy really is that of the individual and his or her belief in the cards as well as their connection with their spirit helper.

Easy Tarot: Learn to Read the Cards Once and for All
In case of Tarot, I'm a complete beginner. I knew of course that "Tarot" card existed, but nothing more than that - and it took me a while to figure out the best way to start "playing" with those cards (too many books, too many reviews to go through, too many options - wasn't exactly sure where to start). Finally, after a long search I've decided to buy this particular "set", and I have to say that I don't regret it. The package (a small box) contains the whole set of Tarot cards, a small book about Tarot and something that looks like a poster of "The Celtic Cross" spread (not really necessary, but still a nice "touch"). Cards: Good quality, very beautiful drawings, much larger than standard playing card - size: 12cm by 7cm (4.7" by 2.5"). Bear in mind that they are different than classic Arthur Waite cards (but then again, those are good enough to use for the beginners) and as the author is saying in the book: "those already familiar with the Rider-Waite deck, should feel quite comfortable in using the Gilded Tarot" (by all means, it is not a negative point for me - but you could have a different preference here). Book: Truly great material there, containing probably everything that you need to know - as a beginner - about Tarot: how it works, a lot of information about cards and their meanings (minor & major arcana description), various connections between them, how to read them, most common spreads (such as The Cross of Truth, The Nine Card Spread, The Celtic Cross, The Life Spread and the Anchor), and major and minor arcana "cheat sheets" (very useful for the beginners). In overall: a good reading material, easy to understand and follow, about 220 pages and 6 parts in total, and a little bit of drawings here and there. If you are completely new to Tarot, I would suggest buying this set and the accompanying book. It's a perfect combo to get you started with simple readings. I've been going through the examples for quite a while now, and have to say that everything is very easy explained and easy to do. The only thing I slightly miss from the book, is a little bit more examples of various spreads -> but this is not a negative point for me as the book (in overall) is very good (and many more examples can be found on the internet). I think my next set will be a set of classic Arthur Waite cards - as everybody should have one of those in their collection - but this one is a perfect starting point for anybody interested in Tarot.
