Did anyone else’s case come with a fishy kinda smell to it when first removed from the package

As a side note - I've had this 'fishy' smell with an Ikea sofa cover before. I think it must be a certain plastic or manufacturing process that produces it. A good way to deal with this type of thing is fresh air and UV light. So putting it outside on a sunny day will usually start to get rid of the smell fairly quickly.

Is the flip cover for the glass removable?

I bought the iPad and cover at the same time but 2 separate items. They came together and I put case on iPad. Have not tried to take off since.
