Almost Perfect
These "Little (Animal)" books are so adorable. The illustration is very sweet and the colors are not obnoxious like many children's books. The "stories" present basic ecosystem and animal facts. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the books aren't very durable.. we have had them a couple of weeks and the paper is already coming off the board book pages. I still recommend them!

Gorgeous Book!
This is a gorgeous book with beautiful art and stunning gold flakes. It's truly eye catching, to the extent that I would've loved to have more pages with illustrations on them. As it stands, the board pages are very thick (thicker than the typical board book) and there are not many of them. The story is more like a first person description of what screech owls are like and how they grow up. It is sweet and adorable, and great for early readers who need simple reading assignments to keep their attention. My criticisms would be that it would've been nice to see the shape of the book to be cut more to the owl's silhouette. Owls have very distinct shapes, and it would be nice on a book that has an irregular shape to begin with. I do feel the book is a tad on the short side. And perhaps the worst part is that it does not read like a story. Also the book is quite glossy - it is not an important detail, but it is something that stood out to me. I would definitely recommend this for early readers or bedtime routines with babies or toddlers. It is just a beautiful book and a pleasure to look through. Please consider giving my review a helpful vote if you found it useful. Thank you!
