This 4 1/2" saw is AWESOME. It works great for small projects. No need to bring out the big boy for those small projects. I feel the balance is on point once you add the battery. I do have the bigger batteries 6 AH and 9AH. I feel if you use the smaller battery, you might feel the saw tilt more on the saw side. Keep that in mind. Build solid and the motor rips though 2x6 boards with ease. Yes, I recommend

This has become my go to saw for most of my work. Easy to handle and has plenty of power. Its just able to cut two by material and is very easy to manage on plywood cuts on walls for example since its so light. I agree its looks a little weird at first but I have grown to use my "axe"

I love this saw . It's not that heavy, because of size its very versatile and quite hardly any noise to it with alot of power and torque for a battery operated saw. Feels very durable. Worst part about it.... is the Allen wrench they give you to change blade. It doesnt stay put, you will lose it because it keeps falling off and barely snaps into place. Easy to install blade and saw dust is thrown though moveable chute out of way really like that myself. This is kind of pricey though, so $$ wise not a great value, BUT the real VALUE is its easy to handle and work with part even in awkward positions. I have a 9 amp/hr battery hooked to it usually and in a whole day of use never made battery go dead. They also give you a ripping guide also. No matter I still recommend it though. These tools are proven to be durable

This little saw is built solid. All moving parts are metal, and the aluminum casing contributes to its light weight. The brushless motor is strong and efficient. Safety levers on both sides keep you safe from accidental operation, for both left and right-handed users. It has an exhaust tube on one side that will emit most of the saw dust, and you can connect this to a small hose or bag to capture it (not included). The ergonomic design makes it very easy to handle overall. This saw can handle anything a 4 1/2 in. diameter blade was ever meant to take on. It also comes with a metal guide marked with inch units, which is useful for cutting straight lines. My only complaints: 1- This saw is significantly pricier than most. There are many cordless mini-saws out there that will do a great job for less cost. 2 - I wish DeWalt had included the laser guide feature installed in some similar or lesser models, to help cut a straight line. Although that's a just a personal preference, it's easy enough to add, and you should not feel like you got less when you pay more. Nonetheless, it was a choice I do not regret. For its power, durability and design, it still gets a 5 out of 5.

I already own a full size framing saw and even a mid size cordless circular saw, so I really thought I did not need this saw at all. I ended up buying it on a whim, thinking it might be handy for trimming some vinyl floor or perhaps doing small jobs around the house. Now it has become one of my most used tools. I've used it for drywall, plywood, fencing, flooring, and even an occasional 2x4. It is just a great light, versatile saw that requires no setup and cuts great. Unless I have a big cutting job to do, I'll always reach for this saw first. For example, recently I had some bad sections of decking to remove, but I did not want to replace the entire 12 foot deck boards because the screws are all shot, and I wanted to minimize damage to the joists. So I set this saw to the right depth and did a precise plunge cut over the joists, and then finished the cut with an oscillating tool. Then I used the mini saw to cut the portion I wanted to replace up and then cut off the rusted screws with a dremel. This is a super handy tool - great for small projects, and more useful than a large circular saw for most casual users, though I'm sure a pro would find many uses for it as well.

nice small saw for 85% of all the normal cutting that you will need to do. The saw makes easy work without all the bulk and fuss of larger saws.

I bought this DCS571 4-1/2-inch circular saw for cutting sheets of plywood without access to a table-saw nor a 110-volt outlet. I thought about taking one star off because the manufacturer does not provide a proper adaptor for connecting the saw to a non-DeWalt vacuum system (not in the box, that is, but only for sale separately). You'll have to buy the DWV9000 adaptor (allows you to connect to some DeWalt brand hoses) and a DWV9190 adaptor to connect to other vacuum brands. I didn't doc any points, however, because of how well this saw works to get the assigned job done. Cutting long cuts in 1/2- and 3/4-inch thick 4x8 plywood is like slicing through warm butter. So much so that yesterday as I was making the last of several cuts my wife said, casually, "Did you just cut through the sawhorse?" Yep - the saw didn't buck, didn't screech and didn't even slow down. I made a perfectly clean, straight cut through the plywood AND the 1-inch x 1-inch steel horizontal bar of that slick little Craftsman folding sawhorse. What an amazing saw! I'm headed off to buy a new set of sawhorses.

Cette scie se manipule facilement et sans encombrement de fils puisqu'elle est alimentée par une batterie (qui n'est pas fourni lors de l'achat). Par contre, si tu possèdes déjà une ou des batteries Dewalt cet achat est parfait (moins cher qu'avec l'achat d'une batterie). Coupe très bien le bois avec sa petite lame. De plus, vu que celle-ci est plus petite, elle est moins lourde que les grosses scies circulaires. Cet outil a facilité nos travaux pour le patio, dans la maison. Le seul regret que nous ayons, moi et mon conjoint, c'est de ne pas l'avoir acheté avant. De plus, cette scie sera parfaite pour les petits travaux futurs, nous voyons cela comme un très bon investissement. Un achat fort utile et sans aucun regret car très bon produit pour la qualité/prix.

Overview I was looking for a light saw, with enough power to use accurately and safely...once handed. . I use it mostly for cross cutting a true straight line after I screw down decking, wood siding etc. I have also use it to rip 2 by 4's and 2 by sixes. Works great one handed, and because it's small it's easy to look part the tool to follow a chalked line. I've used in on new lumber, green, kiln dried. old barn boards...has enough power to handle it all. I have not used it on hardwood...but I don't imagine I would ever have a use for. I trimmed out the siding on an entire small horse barn with less than two 5 amp hour batteries.
