I really appreciate that it includes both the sturdy, non-flimsy boards as well as paper boards, giving you options depending on how you want to play. The paper pack includes a good amount of sheets, so you don’t run out too quickly. The game itself is just as fun as ever fast, creative, and always full of laughs. The electronic timer adds a nice touch and keeps the rounds fair and exciting. It’s perfect for ages 12 and up, and works great for 2–6 players, making it ideal for families or small groups. Overall, this edition feels well-made and thoughtfully put together. We’re really happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it for anyone who loves Scattergories or wants a fun go-to family game!

Great family game

Such a fun game. It's easy to learn and the directions are clear. We have such an enjoyable time when we play this as a family. It's a little hard for my 7yo old, but we like to team up together and he has some great answers! This edition of the game is really nice. The box is quality and it's a great value for the money.

We love this family game. Our only complaint is that the timer has issues, and frequently stops in the middle of the time, and we have to shake it to get it going again.

This seems the same as the original from decades ago except it doesn't have the golf pencils. I prefer mechanical pencils anyway so I put some in the box. I originally bought the cheaper version that was like half this price and it doesn't have the folios which are super important. The cheaper version has an hourglass as a timer which you have no idea when it runs out because you are looking at your boards trying to figure out words. This Anniversary one has the suspenseful ticking and gets obnoxious in the last few seconds so you know you better scribble that last word down fast - perfect. Onto the game itself - Scattergories is fun for ages 12+ and slightly educational for older kids. You have to come up with words that all use the same letter in various categories. Bonus points for alliteration like Chocolate Chip Cookies is 3 points. If you use the same word as someone else neither of you get a point for it so don't necessarily go with the first thing that comes to mind. That's pretty much it. Easy to learn and fun to play. More players is better. Everyone plays simultaneously so the game doesn't end up slower with more players.

The folders are better than current edition dice is bigger like the original and the timer is similar to the original but not the quality seems to slow and even stop every now and then. Doesn’t come with pencils which the original did

Ive been playing this game with my family since i was a kid. I introduced my husband and his parents to it, they loved it so much.
