Great Small Slow Feeder for Puppies and Tiny Eaters
This small slow feeder works really well for puppies, small dogs, or even cats. The maze design helps slow down eating and makes mealtime more engaging. It’s lightweight but has a non-slip base that helps keep it in place. It also holds about the right amount for smaller portions without being too bulky. The design is simpler than larger versions, so it may not slow down very fast eaters as much, but it still helps. Slow feeder bowls can extend eating time and improve digestion by encouraging a healthier pace. Overall, a great little feeder for small pets or lighter eaters.

Works exactly as intended — slows down fast eaters instantly
My son was over one morning while we were feeding our larger dogs, and he noticed how much this type of bowl slows them down. We’ve been using slow feeder bowls like this for years, and they make a big difference. He mentioned his own dog eats way too fast and sometimes gets sick after eating, so I ordered this one and had it shipped directly to his house. After the first breakfast using it, he called me right away and said, “Wow, this works really well.” His dog slowed down significantly and didn’t get sick afterward like before. The bowl itself is well made, feels durable, and holds up well with bigger dogs. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do. If you’ve got a dog that eats too fast, this is one of those simple solutions that actually works.

An awesome game changer for my dog!
I have a Borador-half black Lab, and half Border Collie; she looks more (and I've realized) and acts more like a Lab. Definitely high energy and fast like a BC, but the "oh my goodness I am starving and need to eat all my food in 1.2 minutes"--has driven me bonkers with this dog! I tried puzzle dishes, silicone insert in her original metal dog dish, etc. Even the three-tier dish she ended up mastering how to quickly go through all the food! BUT--once I saw this Slo Bowl --one of the "slowest" in the list to choose from, I had to get it, in hopes that this would be the one to finally slow her down when eating. I was amazed at how long it took her to eat her supper the first night--almost 10 minutes, and about 13 minutes or so with breakfast the next morning! Now to be fair, her kibble (and I guess the blueberries at breakfast) were a bit too small to grab up from the more outer rings because of the depth of the bowl (which I'm glad it's that deep!), but when "mom" stepped in to help her after 11 minutes or so, my girl finally was able to finish her breakfast! The bowl is made very well, and like I said before, I wanted a deep enough bowl with just enough rings to make it that much more difficult for her in order to finally slow her down, and give me some relief that the digestion of the food will be that much better for her. It also cleans very easy, it's lightweight, and also the grips on the bottom of the bowl work very well with the placemat, so the bowl is not moving around on the floor either. I am very thankful and relieved to have found such a good feeding bowl! Great price too!

No more retching, no more horrible smells
Okay, so my dog probably wouldn't agree with a 5-star review. Truth be told? I'm pretty sure she hates it. Sometimes she gets so frustrated she'll walk away for a little while before coming back. But - you know what? There is no more HORRIBLE retching. No terrible smell that lands somewhere between dog vomit and a massive round of diarrhea. I think it's super cute myself and have no problem having it in my kitchen. Despite her aggression at trying to get to her food, it's held up really, really well. The whole forcing her to slow down thing has also decreased the mess she usually makes by 10 fold. No nasty slobber chunks (mostly) since she's not inhaling and drooling every where. It's stable though not slip resistant if that's something you're looking for.

It is effective
Update on purple flower (LG): My dog was too spastic when eating from the blue puzzle slow feeder. It causes me grief. So I bought the "slowest" one, the purple flower. At first, she took more time and was calmer with it, taking 13-5 minutes to clear the bowl as she was trying to figure out how/where to access the food. After a couple of weeks, she can completely clear the bowl in 8-10 minutes but most of it gone within 4-5 minutes. The nice thing is her droopy ears don't dangle in the food as much since the purple flower is more shallow. It's also a hint wider. So that helps keep her ears from smelling like watered down dog food. And it's a color and shape I like. They both hold her 1.5 cups of kibble plus 16 oz of water, no problem. Just that the purple one is a little more easily tipped when I carry it to her dinner tray. I think that each of these slow feeder bowls should help slow down many dogs. Just find the one you like. Original review re blue puzzle (LG): Thank you Outward Hound for creating another intelligent dog product and for preserving my sanity. My hound doesn't drink enough unless I add water to her food. This causes her to be very enthusiastic about eating. Left alone with a large Durapet bowl, 1.5 cups of kibble/freeze dried food, some canned food, pumpkin puree, and 20-24 oz water, it's gone in 3 minutes. Too stressful for me due to risk of vomiting or bloat or stomach flip. If I have to micromanage her with the open bowl, it's stressful for both of us and she inhales a lot of air = burping and some flatulence. No good. Feed her with this blue puzzle feeder (LG 4 cup size) and she takes 1-3 minutes to finish the liquid, and 10 minutes more to consume most of the food. Total time is about 15 minutes for her to get all of the food cobsumed. I ask her to pause a few times and stretch out mealtime a little longer. I just returned the orange and teal ones without using them since this one looked best for us upon arrival and it is all we need. She's a 55# Rhodesian Ridgeback and she can just fit her jaw in there some. Perfect her her size of dog. For smaller dogs, I'd consider the other ones or the smaller ones. And I ordered a couple of extras just in case. She doesn't yet chew or bite the bowl (she's a gentle omega dog) but when you find something that works well, you're dependent upon it, and it's on prime days big deal for under $10, wise buys extra!). This bowl holds 4 cups wet or dry as advertised on the "box". For my girl, she gets nearly 2 cups wet and dry mixed plus up to 24 ounces of water and there is some room to spare. My only complaint is that it shifts around on the silicon feeding mat I use. So to prevent her from stepping in the slop from her water lapping, I need to micromanage her. Thus 4 stars. But it's otherwise an absolutely fantastic tool that we couldn't live without. I strongly recommend!

Great slow feeder bowl
Fabulous slow feeder bowl. Both my dogs have one and it works great! It slows down their eating, is super durable and dishwasher/microwave safe. Also, it doesn't skid across the floor and makes clean up super easy

Perfect Bowl for my Dog!
Has stood the test of time! We got our rescue dog 2.5 years ago and pretty quickly realized he would benefit from a slow feeding bowl. It has slowed him down to an appropriate speed. The material has held up to MANY meals and it has traveled fine for several holiday trips. It’s also easy to clean (my dog licks it clean lol) but you can rinse it easily and let it dry.

105lbs Cane Croso Vacuum
Cliff notes: dog eat too fast, buy, slows the dog down. Done. Got a cane corso 9 month pup,105lbs. Vacuums up 2-3 cups of food in and anything in a regular bowl in less than a minute. Literally inhales his food as if we're starving him or have him fighting for his food in a family of 20. He's a single pup and we feed him with plenty of time. The turquoise bowl has slowed him down IMMENSELY. Less than two minutes has become nearly 10 minutes. The food is not impossible to get to, just takes work and slows them down. The bowl is a bowl, good plastic, rubber on bottom to stop from moving. It holds 4 cups sure, gotta carefully fill it. Its not flimsy. Cleaning is simple. Run some water and dig with a spoon or finger. Done. I use the old bowl to mix all the food I serve, chicken, kibble, veggies then pour it into the slow feeder carefully. Its easy to use but you gotta be mindful of how you pour. Also bonus info, less inhaling food and air at once, he seems to fart less, and thats worth the price alone.

Bra funktion
