Absolutely the best flashlight going
I first encountered this flashlight during a "ride along" with a police officer friend of mine. For a few weeks, while I was considering becoming a reserve police officer, the local police department was nice enough to allow me to ride along with my friend Dave, who is a police officer for our local department. All their police cars had the Mag RX1019's wired into the patrol cars. Now, I've had mag flash lights (the battery powered kind) over the years. However, when I first saw my friend light up the night with the RX1019, I couldn't believe how bright it was! I asked him what sort of flash light it was and he showed me it was a rechargeable mag. I was sort of shocked; after all, my mag light looked the same (sans the recharging stuff), but wasn't even half as bright. Dave explained it was because the mag light in the car was always fully charged. Wow, what a difference. After a few months of ride alongs, I decided against becoming a police officer. However, I did end up buying several of the Mag RX1019 flash lights. I even bought one for my Dad for Xmas. Let me tell you, this is about the best flash light you can buy. It's always charged and ready to go - you never have to look for batteries. It's super bright and really does an amazing job lighting up the night. In fact, it's practically like having a car headlight in your hand! :-) That's how bright this thing is. The flash light really takes a beating and is very well made. You can also buy aftermarket NiMH batteries if/when needed and these not only have no "memory effect", but double the charge capacity. Overall, short of spending hundreds of dollars, this is the best flash light money can buy in my opinion. I use mine constantly. I live out in the forest and this flash light works great for lighting up the night and/or when you want to shine it up into a distant tree to find an owl, etc. If you are looking for a top quality flash light, this is the one to get. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.. that's how fantastic a light it is.

Best Mag Lite ever ......
I work for the government as a communications technician and sometimes you need a nice BRIGHT light with staying power, when working in dark rooms and doing cable splices, etc. So, I knew what I was getting before I actually bought one of these lights for myself. I was so impressed with the light at work, that I knew I would eventually have one at home, and now I do. This is a GREAT light! It will stay lit for HOURS without needing a charge. No batteries to replace and super bright. My light came with 2 mounting brackets, an AC charger and a DC plug for the car or truck. I'll definately pack this light during future trips. Also, I received this light just 3 days after ordering it .. super fast delivery!

this is the VIP of flashlights
First off, greatest flashlight, not only is it bright but it could hypothetically be used to beat [up] a burgler, who would be blinded by its light... The mounting cradle has a nice easy-in- but firm-holding mechanism, so you just slap it in, but have to use a good level of leverage when you remove it. It DOES NOT come with an extra bulb in the base of light, like many mags do. And, the bulb is NOT the normal maglight battery, it is a differnt connector and voltage (6v). I dropped mine, which killed my bulb, so I then bought two bulbs for it and put one in the spare compartment under the battery spring in the base, where a spare should belong upon purchase. My recommendation is that you buy the extra bulb before you need it, and put it in the base. It really is great to have this flashlight mounted in my storage room always there for me. I would eventually like to get a 2nd to mount in my car for safety etc, and find a good place to mount it (it comes with 12volt car plug adapter too).

Very well made.
This is a very bright Flashlight. I like the fact that it can be charged with the AC Adapter OR the 12vdc Cigarette Lighter Plug in a vehicle. I keep one in my Motorhome by the Stairs, and one by the Door in my Workshop for grabbing quickly when I need it. The Charging Cradle feels like it is not as heavy duty as the flashlight so you cannot just jerk it off and go, bu should do just fine if you don't get really rough with it. I also like the fact that you can press the button twice to make it half as bright to save the battery power for long jobs.

Good product
Maglites are always a good value. This purchase was a replacement for a similar one that was 12 years old. This package deal is nice in that you can charge in a vehicle or at home. My husband likes these lights, and uses them both at home and work. There is no ambient light where we live, so a dark night is really dark. This flashlight is really nice when you have to put chains on your vehicle in the dark. It has a nice, bright, white light. They're waterproof (yes, they do sink) and have a heavy duty metal casing. These flashlights are the best value on the market.

Good flashlight
I used several flashlights of this type as ship surveyor and can say that the newer versions are lower quality (made in china) than before. Cons: 1. this flashlight is big and very heavy 2. the battery lasts about 2 hours 3. the switch is not so strong 4. cannot charge a spare battery on original charger 5. if you hit the flashlight you burn the bulb The power adapter failed after one month. Pros: 1. focus ability 2. good light

The Perfect Flashlight
My husband and I bought our first maglite almost two years ago, and its still working like its new. He uses it nightly at work. He can get about a weeks to two weeks usuage out of it before he has to charge it. We bought the second for home use because we got tired of buying batteries for the small maglites you get from wal-mart. We love our new rechargable as much as the old one. I bought it about a month ago and use it about once a week. I havent had to charge it once. The only complaint I have had about maglite is that the button on the first one has fallen off but it is still working fine other then that.
