3M Ear Plugs, E-A-Rsoft Yellow Neons 315-1250, Uncorded, NRR 33

I know 3M has been in the news during the pandemic, and not for good reasons, and it appears some of the combat earplugs they made for the military are not working correctly (you can read about that here, obviously change the underscores to periods before using the link: www_militarytimes_com/news/your-military/2019/02/14/hundreds-of-vets-are-suing-over-these-defective-combat-earplugs/) Nothing to indicate this was done deliberately, and certainly 3M is not known for botching manufacturing generally, but I'm a huge supporter of all those in uniform, so this disturbs me--but bottom line these are simply the best deal-- also the best performing noise reduction plugs, 33dB NR, and made in America. A no brainer choice. They're both pliable and yet incredibly effective, allowing you to fit them perfectly and feel them expand gently to fill the ear canal--like tiny memory foam inserts--perfect whether using them in a work environment or just to be able to sleep. They come in individually wrapped packages in a large box very convenient--made of non-toxic, non-leaching polyurethane, no latex, and very unlikely to cause any allergic reactions. I wouldn't swim with these, but they're great if you want to take a shower and you're prone to getting water in your ears. Working in the yard, they not only reduce noise from the leaf blower, they keep dust and particulates out of your ear canal. Put some of that alcohol we've been using to disinfect against covid on your fingers before you roll/insert the ear plug, but I've used these for years and never had any type of infection or issue. Bonus benefit: in fact when you take them out they often act as a kind of gentle excess ear wax cleaning! Beautiful, these will change your life, no kidding. A note on sleep: I suggest using them frankly every night, not just on noisy nights, if you really want a deep sleep--even having the sound of your partner breathing and moving, a beautiful comforting sound of course, but can slightly disturb your sleep--or a pet that shares the bed moving around, we're not aware of it necessarily, but it does affect the quality of our sleep. Using the earplugs is like swaddling your ears with a blanket, it's a comfort and it's also giving your eardrums and brain circuitry that handles sound a healthful rest while deepening & lengthening your sleep. Lastly, these are great if you're commuting on noisy public transit, or walking along a noisy road because you can still hear any warning sounds in the environment, but it's like you're wrapped in protective padding. As far as ear plugs go for sleeping, these are pretty good. They are lightweight and soft vs the more dense firmer ones. No earaches. With the color we can easily find them by the bed, on the floor, or in my bag. I do appreciate the individual wrapping as it's clean and I'm able to share/give them to others if needed.

The earplugs were easy to place into ear after rolling them a bit. I use them for sleeping; they felt soft and produced no pressure at all. They also did block out most noise. But instead of 200, we received 4 pair less (after counting twice out of curiosity).

Arrived in good condition, in a timely fashion, at a reasonable price compared to other sites, and works. Used these and yellow ones from EAR 20+ years working on jet and turboprop aircraft. No loss in hearing upon retirement. Have small ziploc baggies of them everywhere for a multitude of uses. Concerts? Monster truck shows. Firing ranges. Chain sawing. I swear by these! What else is needed? Would order again.

This review has some redundancy to others, namely that these plugs are kind of short length-wise making it possible to insert too far into one's ear; though this could be said for most earplugs I suppose. That said, I'll be comparing these AO Safety/3Ms to MSA Safety Works 10059484 Expandable Foam Ear Plugs in Counter Display, 100-Pair as I've used them in the past (i.e. in Prometric Exam-testing Centers). Another previous comment that I'll concur with is that the 3M plugs don't roll up as thin as the MSAs. I had a hunch this might be an issue, but I went with them anyhow because of the cost-to-unit ratio. At the same ~$20 price point, one gets 200 3M earplugs vs. 100 MSAs. I would say the MSAs compress/roll up 2.0mm-in-diameter thinner than the 3Ms. This makes it a lot easier to insert. Also, while releasing compression and preparing to insert, the 3Ms expand a lot quicker than the MSAs. About blocking sound. For me, the 3Ms block sound at an "adequate" or "average level". I mainly use plugs in public libraries, campus libraries, at work, and in cafés. One might wonder why I go to a café if I know it might be noisy. Having grown up in a restaurant, I generally like the hustle and bustle. It's an alternate, comforting type of ambience. But sometimes it can get erratic and in those instances, I put plugs on. [Music tends to steer my attention even worse.] I've still yet to use these in a club/venue setting. I've been meaning to. Three stars for losing its shape quickly compared to the MSAs. And maybe for some light post-removal soreness. Still priced competitively.

Previously I was using some store-bought earplugs, which actually were hard-foam and better fitted to someone with large ear-holes. For me, these are delicate, soft and good for people with smaller ears. I always loose earplugs in the night, so that hasn't changed, but these just feel so good, block the noise well and I have been sleeping like a rock.

3M seemed to be a trusted name in Noise isolating products. I did not like this version of the earbuds . They are short and the rating of NRR 32 db looks like a joke. Also their 1100 seem to be doing the exact same job even when they have rated them 28 db . Dont go for them 3M 1100 are cheaper and you don't have to buy them in bulk. I had to purchase a whole pack of 200 of these Neon Earplugs from ibhejo and since this is a non-returnable product I feel stuck with them.

Now I have enough ear plugs for my kids and my grandkids. Or, I would if I had kids. Instead, I have lots of ear plugs to block out the screams and shrieks of other people's kids on public transportation like air planes and ferries and trains. I confess to also using these on a long highway drive, when I was just tired of hearing the road noise all the time. Surprisingly, I could actually hear my stereo better because the volume was already turned up higher than the road noise (which was only about 90% blocked out), but was more clear for the muting of the drone of the tires on concrete. They also worked wonders at a bnb I stayed at last night, which was hotter than hades when I got there, and needed the air conditioning to be running full-blast in my bedroom so I could sleep. And indeed, these did an amazing job blocking out that jet engine sound 5 feet from my head. I didn't realize they'd be individually wrapped. I guess if I'm going to have them for 50 years, that's not a bad thing - will keep the oxygen off them, to keep the foam from degrading over that time. Also makes it easy to grab them and throw in a backpack for a short trip, or to keep in various places for various places. I also love the colour. Tennis ball yellow is my favourite colour in the world, and these do not disappoint. Makes it really easy to find them when they're stuck in my makeup bag.
