I’m a 36 waist and 29 in length 40r jacket, what size would be best? i don’t mind having to hem the pants. thanks!

My fiancé is about 175 weight and 6’1” ish. He is about a 34/34 in pants, but has incredibly long arms. We ended up buying a medium at first, the vest fit flawlessly, but the arms were a bit short on the jacket, and the pants looked really good in length and waist fit, but were tight in the groin. So we sized up to a large. Had to get the waist of the pants taken in just a bit. And the jacket/vest are also a little loose fitting for a “slim fit.” But if you have an inexpensive seamstress, like we do. It’s worth it. I think if there was a 1/2 size between medium and large, it would have been perfect. I would say with your waist size a large would be the way to go, and just hem the pants.
