40 cu/ft Argon-Nitrogen-Helium Welding Gas Cylinder Tank CGA 580 -EMPTY

Got it fast and was way cheaper than the welding supply store locally. They swapped it out for a full on so I got the gas I needed and they got a brand new tank.

Most places--at least near me--do not fill argon tanks, and require that you swap the cylinder for a filled one, so keep this in mind. I purchased this and was able to successfully swap it for a filled cylinder at Airgas. Going this route saved something like $20-40 compared to buying the cylinder directly from them. It had the correct cert/markings for exchange, no issues whatsoever. !!! --> If you live in a rural area and are supplied by an Airgas satellite branch, you will probably need to call them ahead of time to let them know you want them to call in a 40 cu ft. argon tank from their central hub/distributor. They let me request this, and held it for me for a short time at no charge with no strings attached (if I didn't end up needing to swap for it they would have sold it to someone else or eventually moved it to another location).

I was very excited to discover that this tank holds 40 cubic feet of nitrogen, exactly as advertised!

The 40 cu ft cylinder looks nice, but I couldn't find a local supplier that would provide filled bottle and getting this one filled would take about three weeks. In the end, I was able to pay $30 to upgrade to a 60 cu ft cylinder + $38 for argon. In total, this is still less than what I would have paid for a filled 52 cu ft tank purchased locally.

As one of the other reviewers wrote, it was a shame to trade this tank in for a refilled tank.

Too expensive

Came quickly and in great condition... Had all the proper stamps on bottle for trade in at " Air Gas"
