003 Oasis Bird Feeder

Lots to like here - first off the box was smaller and flatter than I expected, which was great! It was easy to open and unpack - every piece was individually wrapped in open-ended bags too - some people are finicky for this, not me. The instructions were so easy to follow it reminded me of the good ol' days where one could enjoy putting something together (unlike the nightmare experiences with Ikea products and the like). Its great when a company can not only design a good product, but design it to be put togerther by the average customer too! Took me about 15 minutes or so while I watched TV. You only need a phillips screwdriver for 5 screws!I put it out on my deck right away (still need to put some sand in the base) and the whole thing held up nicely to the breeze. I waited for my first customers, and sure enough, my crew took to it quickly: chickadees, a white-breasted nut-hatch and a woodpecker. I had a blue jay show up today; not sure if he tried the feeder, as I leave some food on the floor too. I'm sure the cardinals will figure it out. Definitely no squirrels tried to climb it so far. Anyway, I'm very happy- the birds even drank water and ate suet from the two cups. Cheers to a product which has been done right fro start to finsh! (PS they do care about the birds and remind us in the instructions how to clean it to prevent the spread of disease. I like that.)

Good product, but not wholly steady. I've used sand to weight the base down rather than water, but I still worry about the stability. The birds seem to love it, however. I would purchase this item again.

The birds don't go near this....wouldn't have a thing to do with it. There are trees, a bird bath and the other more traditional bird feeders have birds of all kinds visiting. It's a shame, as I thought it would be fantastic...I was wrong. It looks very creative and appeals to me, but not the birds.Sorry.....

The concept of this bird feeder is great,,,,but the one I received is far from effortless. The instructions warn that the telescoping poles fit snugly, but the poles on my feeder fit so snugly that it takes every bit of strength I have to lower the feeder to fill it. I've sprayed the poles with silicone spray and I'm hoping that with time the situation will improve.

I purchased this bird feeder about 2 months ago and have been using it since. I wanted one that keeps chipmunks and squirrels at bay and this one truly delivers. Now they hang out at the base of the feeder waiting for seeds that fall as the birds eat. Not one has gotten up the pole to eat at the feeding tray! It is easy to fill, keep clean and the birds absolutely love it. So much so that I am going through a boatload of bird food, way more than I used to. The feeding tray lets the food flow in abundance. I wish it was a little more difficult for the birds to get to, but I guess this is really a small issue. I love the way it looks in my front garden and am having a ton of fun with it and watching the birds in my neighborhood in Minnesota. Well worth the price, and it looks and performs like it is much more expensive. 5 stars for sure!

Works well, keeps the squirrels out so far.

This is exactly what I wanted. An easy to fill, easy to clean, and easy to move bird feeder. I am a mechanic and I can tell you this is well engineered. Super easy to assemble also. Base holds sand for weight, so you don't have to pull anything out of the ground to move it for mowing or just changing location. Water would work, but then it would freeze in winter and burst the base. The entire upper assembly can slide down the pole to allow for filling the seed tube. My granddaughter can do easily lower it and fill the tube. The roof stays in place of course. You might need to have it on a flat surface for stability. I am going to get a small concrete square like the image shows, so that it will be stable in the grass. There is a huge squirrel blocker dome under neath, so there is no other anti-pest device or linkage to worry about. There are two cups on either side, one for water, the other for a different seed (?). The side seed bowl has holes for drainage. I will report again after using it awhile.

This feeder is nice for the price. It had arrived with a broken piece at the base of where the feeder tube goes. Thankfully we had superglue for the rescue and the feeder is up. For the base I'd prefer if it was more like the 001 version as it seems more stable. But it is doing okay so far.
