Can you slip cards in and out without interference from an attached lanyard?

No, you can't remove your ID card easily while a lanyard is in the holder.

Will they fall out on a Rollercoaster ?

No. The cards will stay secured. If you clip the alligator clip holder to your shirt pocket, youll be in good shape.

how many cards can fit in one?

3 depending on thickness. I have an ID a credit card and can get another credit card but its snug. If you want more than that, take center divider out for an easy 3-4 cards. Caution though, if the cards are not snug, esp if you take divider out, easy for cards to slide out if inadvertently turned upside down. I tried others and this is my fav, hands down!
