Meike MK-RF-AF1 13mm + 18mm Metal AF Full Frame Macro Extension Tube Adapter Ring Kit for EOS-R Series Cameras RF Mount Cameras EOS-R EOS-RP

I was looking for an accessory to my EOS R system to get some better macro shots. The extension tubes worked perfectly. The macro kit is well built and easy to use. I was so happy to see the Auto Focus worked great with the rings. It makes focusing so much easier. One of the features on the EOS R is the focus guide when you have AF turned off on the lens. It's a great feature to use for macro photography along with the focus peaking. Because the rings have the contacts built-in, the focus system on the EOS R works without fail. I tried the rings with my 24-70 MK ii and my 100 mm macro lens that are both EF with the EF to RF adapter and it was like using a native lens. I also used an RF 50mm and it was great too. If you are looking to make any lens a macro ability lens, then these tubes are perfect. They make the minimum focus distance less and add some mm to your focal range. So adding an 11mm ring to my 100mm macro makes it 111mm and also allows me to focus closer. I would highly suggest giving these rings a chance for getting some beautiful macro photography. They are affordable and built very well. I love to buy accessories to try with my camera to have some fun with and these were a ton of fun to use. It's so encouraging to see more companies build products to use with the new RF lens mount. I can't wait to see new things come out for the RF system soon.

Pretty happy with these extenders. Works great on my RF Lenses, and even great with a EF-RF Converter. No issues with compatibility on camera bodies (Tested with R6mII, R8,R10, RP) or various lenses. AF works perfectly, and I was able to consistent autofocus when needed. The build qualities decent, the extenders are light, and stackable if you want. Really no complaints about them. They do what their suppose to do at a decent cost.

I used the Meike MK-RF-AF1 13mm + 18mm Extension Tube Kit on a Canon R6 with the RF 24-70mm f/2.8, and the results met expectations for macro work. The tubes preserve full electronic communication, including AF and aperture control, which is a big win. The combo performed beautifully for close-up flower photography, letting me get surprisingly close while maintaining sharpness and control. Build quality is solid—metal mounts feel durable and snug. However, the 11mm tube has a sticky release latch, particularly when mounted to lenses like the RF 50mm f/1.2 and 24-70mm f/2.8. It takes some finesse (and patience) to detach, which could be frustrating in fast-paced shooting environments, and downright nerve racking when you have a $25 tube stuck to a $1600 lens. Overall, it’s a good value option for anyone exploring macro work with RF glass.

I just bought this few weeks ago. Before buying it, I make my own research a long research and I found out that many people complain about the quality build. That it’s fill like is about to fall apart. Is true, I’m not going to hide it. But for beginners it does the job. Maybe it’s not what I expected, but it’s not that much of a disappointment. I don’t consider this a waste of money. Just a step before stepping up. Three stars in my humble opinion.

Out of all the extension tubes I've used, I like these ones the best. The reason why is because they have dust shields on them, and that makes them the greatest quality for the price. The only thing I hate about these is that it's not a typical 3-piece kit (it doesn't have the larger size tube). But really, all you have to do is order two sets of these and you'll be good to go. In my case, I bought a different set with the larger tube in addition to these, because they fit the EFS mount, where as these only fit the new EF mount (Choose accordingly). Having both mount styles gives you the versatility to use different combinations and lenses pending your situation.

I have never had a problem with Canon or Nikon-manufactured extension tubes over 40 years. Unfortunately I needed to buy a non-Canon product because Canon does not (yet) make extension tubes for RF mount lenses. Hence I went with Meike due to reviews. The tubes worked well initially, but then started to intermittently fail on a trip, not communicating with the camera to allow me to even take a picture. I had to reset the camera by removing the battery each time this happened. I found out that I simply cannot rely on these tubes. For anyone interested in more detail: I purchased two sets to get 62mm extension. After the first tube failure I taped all the tubes together so they wouldn’t jiggle, and this seemed to work — until it didn’t. After the second failure I tested all the tubes and found one that simply no longer transmitted anything, so I used the remaining three tubes, and this seemed to work — until it didn’t. Then I used just one 13mm tube, and this has worked for now, but I know I can’t rely on it simply because it was constructed the same way as the other tubes, and I can’t rely on the construction methodology. This all happened on a trip to Panama, so I did lose shots. When I returned I took apart the tube that completely failed so as to look at the construction: The way the movable pin works is simple & straightforward: a pin pushes against a spring when the lens is attached, so that the spring pushes against the static connector on the other side. I don’t see a way to figure out why this failed, but one reason could be that the tiny springs may not be of the best quality. There shouldn't be a problem with the fixed connectors since the camera has the spring-activated connections, and they perform flawlessly. And there’s never been an issue with the camera-lens connection without the extension tubes. My next attempt is to try Fotodiox, which at least is a U.S. company that (although the tubes are still made in China) I would hope ensures better quality control over the products they distribute. Diese neue Serie mit dem roten Rand passt auf alle Fälle besser und wackelfrei, als die erste Serie in ganz schwarz. Jetzt kann ich auch beide Ringe zusammen verwenden - alle Signale werden zuverlässig übermittelt. Das war mit meinem alten Set nicht der Fall. Vielleicht war da das RF Bajonett noch zu neu und Meike konnte es nicht besser produzieren. Da ich meinen Lieblingsring verloren habe, gab es dieses neue Set. Das war eine gute Entscheidung. Die Naheinstellgrenze ist mit beiden Ringen zusammen sehr kurz - direkt dran. Ausprobieren. Aber das muss und sollte man in der Fotografie ja sowieso. Freihand empfehle ich die Serienbildeinstellung oder ein Stativ mit Makroschiene zu verwenden. Diese Ringe sind eine preiswerte Alternative zu einem teuren Makroobjektiv.

Fits the camera and lens perfectly, with nothing loose or too tight. There tubes, so quality is fine and they are chromed which is very important. Auto focus works, and am satisfied with them on the RF100mm Macro lens.
