Great for vacuum packing fish
I have been using these pads for years for vacuum packing salmon. The absorbency is great. I consistently get good seals on my packages when using these pads. Plus the pads absorb any liquids while defrosting the fish.

Absorbs fine, just make sure the absorbent side is facing the meat or whatever you are trying to absorb from.

I buy these regularly. We buy meat in bulk and freeze it. When it’s time to thaw I line the plate or platter with these pads. They absorb the blood and moisture just like the grocery store meat packaging. No mess. No using expensive paper towels. Highly recommend.
