Works great
I've used this minnow trap at the dock where I keep my boat. Whether I put bait in the trap or not this trap does not disappoint. Every time I check the trap I find 15 to 25 "killies" (bait fish) inside and have even caught a few crabs and eels with it. It's very sturdy and durable and easy to use. I recommend this product to anyone looking to catch their own live bait

Excellent bait fish trap
I put a small piece of Spam in this trap and dropped the trap just below the water surface on the edge of a small lake. I used the trap 3 times and each time I got 15 to 20+ shads that were about one inch long. Landed 5 bass with these live baits trolling around the lake. The construction and function of this trap far exceeded my expectations. Catching live baits beats going to the bait shop and risking dead bait fish before you arrive at the fishing hole. Highly recommended.

Great product - works- BUT whoever decided how to ship these needs to unpack it at least once
Would I buy again- Yes They are built well like the older ones I inherited from my dad.-- They do work. I ordered two. 1) I do have a few nitpicks though--- Whoever decided how to ship these needs a refresher-- These things were telescoped so tightly together I actually cut myself trying to pull them apart- they are stacked & shipped like harbor freight buckets and they were stuck together even tighter-- could not get them apart without a LOT of pull 2) Many states require a label or owner ID placard attached to the trap. A small square piece of aluminum with clips that can be etched with an engraver or Dremel would have been nice..maybe the shipping guy can be reassigned this job rather than be laid off.

High quality product, better than others that I have seen in stores.
I purchased the Gee's minnow trap through Amazon. When received, I noticed that there was nothing to hold the two pieces together. I considered sending it back to Amazon, but after seeing the product demonstration on YouTube, decided to call the manufacturer the Tackle Factory to complain about the missing snaps. Greg from Tackle Factory was very helpful. He explained that they sell the traps with the snaps attached via a twist tie. In addition, he went on to explain that they do not sell via Amazon, and that Amazon is not one of their authorized distributors. Sometime after the traps left their factory, the snAps were removed. Not only did he make my order whole, he included some extra unexpected goodies, all I had to pay was the freight. The Tackle Factory ought to be proud of Greg, he makes their business shine. I will purchase my items directly from the Tackle Factory in the future. THANK YOU Greg!!! PS this is a quality product. Very well made, and it will be around for years of use.

Works great
I recently used a minnow trap and was amazed by its effectiveness. After enjoying a rotisserie chicken, I decided to put the remnants in the trap and set it out, deploying it by tying it to a 1/8 inch nylon rope at various depths. To my surprise, it caught a wide variety of fish species! I managed to catch mud minnows, baby sheepshead, shrimp, and several other types of fish. Interestingly, the depth floating at the surface caught the most fish. The trap worked exceptionally well, attracting and holding a diverse range of aquatic life. If you're looking for a reliable and effective minnow trap, this one does the job brilliantly. It's easy to use and delivers impressive results. Highly recommended for anyone needing a dependable way to catch various types of fish.

Glad I bought it, works great, bait it right and let it sit overnight, this thing pays for itself quickly.
This thing works great, use it for catching chub minnows, and after it started to warm up started getting crawdads in there as well. After doing a fair amount of research on traps and bait, I decided to give this a shot. The key is find a nice little creek where you can actually see minnows swimming around. 2nd big thing - bait. I use Cheetos and bread. 3rd - leave it overnight!!! Most minnows and definitely crawdads are WAY more active at night. A few hours just doesn't seem to cut it, but leave this thing overnight and I have WAY more than enough minnows for a few hours of fishing. This thing paid for itself in 3 uses, given that minnows are 3.75 a dozen here, and I was hauling in 20-30 minnows and 10-12 crawdads each time I let it sit overnight. I don't really have any history with other traps to compare it to, and the way this thing works, I probably never will.

Pond Pump Filter
***Totally gone after 2 seasons as a pond pump filter. Used spring to fall, stored indoors for the winter.*** I have no doubt this would make a great minnow trap, but I used it for a pond pump filter. I closed one end, and pushed a 1" foot valve in the other. Used a stainless hose clamp to seal it off and bingo! I'm going to fill the bottom with some gravel so it will stand vertically. Update...works great! Filter ran the whole summer and it was completely free from leaves, debris, and scum. Cleaned it off for winter storage and it is now back out and running again this year.
