Warm chimey bright, wonderful things...
First time I've tried XT 12s (Furch OM31 SR), been a regular user of the basic EJ16 for a few years.Very happy indeed. I like the sound of fresh strings anyway, but the wound 4 on the XTs have a wonderful warm chime and make the EJs sound brittle, almost scratchy in comparison.I tried Elixir but felt I'd lost the new brighness straight from the box. These XTs are wonderfully bright without excess - they sound really present, forward but smooth and sweet. The trebles are just as bright so tonal balance across all strings is excellent.Tension stability seems excellent, they didn't need as much stretching in and have held accurate pitch better so far.Just ordered a second set (L'Arrivee OM44R) - after years of trying loads of different strings and makers I think I've finally hit on the ones for me.The extra cost is worth it for the tone I think, if they last a bit longer that's a bonus in my view.I'd recommend anyone try these - I feel like they squeeze every ounce of tone out of a guitar.

Excellent Strings
These strings sound great and feel good too. It brought my acousitc guitar back to life with it's full and bright tone. Can't go wrong with D'Addario strings!

Nice sound, but could have better longevity
Really nice strings for my acoustic. Really bright sound with a really smooth feel. Have lasted a while, but it misses the extra star because they haven't lasted for as long as I would like. I don't play every day, so if the guitar is left to sit for a few days, they get a bit grimey and have to be cleaned with a bit of fret fast.Otherwise nice strong strings.

Perfect
Don't use anything else on my acoustic. I've yet to find any coated strings (acoustic or electric) that I like better than the XT series.

Great sounding strings
Have used many different brands of acoustic string, coated and uncoated and haven't disliked any. I've been using D'addarios as my favourite for a while, based on their sound on my guitar and how long they maintain their properties, I know this is subjective!I tried their normal coated ones but went back to using uncoated EJ16's for the way they sound to me and have been very happy with them.Tried Xt's after a colleague put some on his guitar and liked them, I was pleasantly surprised with the sound on my Guild as well. I use a pic, .80mm or .50mm and fingerstyle and all work nicely with them. Very pleased with Xt's

If you find Elixirs too "new"
As a long time Elixir user (having acid sweat from day 1 of learning guitar) I've been more than happy with Elixirs on electrics for nearly 25 years. However, I've never been happy on acoustic. Their polyweb stuff sounds good but feels weird and frays at the strumming point. their nanoweb stuff keeps the strings so "new" sounding that they're just jangly, bright and lacking any character. They seem to have the ability to ring and sustain hugely, which might satisfy a Taylor player but when you're a fan of old Gibsons and want to sound like crackly Bob Dylan records, you'll be out of luck. I love the sound of uncoated acoustic strings but they'd never last me longer than a few days.I hoped these were here to bridge the gap. However, they fall somewhere in between by way of longevity. They barely feel coated and that might be because they barely are. On the plus side, that means they sound great. They stay freshly bright, but not thin or jangly - they keep the lows and dynamics really well, being true to your guitar's character. But there is certainly noticeable wear after a couple of days. Much more than Elixir. It's first noticeable on the unwound strings. Elixir's anti-rust means these stay shiny for weeks but on the D'Addarios, they're already dulling. If you don't NEED coated strings as I do, having corrosive sweat, they might last a good while but instead, I've found them no more lasting than normal strings.Guess I'm still searching!

sound great
Nice strings , best I've tried so far for sure . I would recommend them if you've never tried them before. They're a little pricey but I'm hoping they will last a little longer the others I've had.
