Long ago I had a different German brand V blade slicer that I paid lots of money for. Worked great for over a decade but was all plastic except the blades. This unit performs equally as well with careful improvements over the older styles. One of the great parts about this is that it is stainless steel. First time my wife ever saw one. She was able to use it comfortably, quickly and competently within minutes. It drastically cuts down meal preparation time so you can use your valuable time to do other things. The safety cap over the food being sliced is improved design and works much better that the flat old designs. A free pair of safety gloves is a very nice touch and it is very easy to clean. The price is much less than many years ago for a better designed and made product. A great find.

The slicer is a fantastic kitchen tool for quick and precise slicing! The stainless steel blades are super sharp, making it easy to cut vegetables like potatoes and onions with minimal effort. It’s not bad for the price… It’s sharp, & did a great job slicing potatoes.. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars, is because when I tried to remove the core? I followed the directions but it felt stuck, & if I pushed any harder? Kinda felt like it was gonna break. Besides that? It’s pretty good. I’d like to say, if you never used one before? You should watch a few videos to make sure you don’t hurt yourself. This thing is not a toy, & will slice your finger off if you let it. So if you’re not going to use the guide it comes with? Make sure you keep your fingers & thumb extended & joined, & put the object you’re slicing in the palm of your hand. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

After years of battling with my old mandolin (which was more of a blunt suggestion than a slicer), I finally upgraded—and oh baby, this thing means business. From the moment I unboxed it, I knew my vegetables were in trouble. Onions? Obliterated. Tomatoes? Sliced so thin they could audition for a paper cut. Potatoes? Perfectly uniform chips that made me feel like a snack scientist. This mandolin is sharp, sleek, and somehow makes me feel both powerful and slightly concerned for my fingertips. (Seriously, use the hand guard. Don’t be a hero.) Cleanup is easier than convincing me to order takeout, and it stores neatly without looking like a medieval torture device. It’s like the Ferrari of kitchen gadgets—if the Ferrari came with a warning label and made salads. Bottom line: If you’re still using that dull, clunky relic you bought during the Bush administration, do yourself (and your stir-fry) a favor and upgrade. You won’t regret it.

Was exactly what I needed and was easy to use! I had a mandoline previously but since we have had young adult family that needed help with rent, and our )son who became physically limited from his diabetes our extra rooms where I stored everything vanished quickly. All my kitchen items were all moved rapidly into boxes and stacked in garage. Long story short I cannot find anything now! It's so frustrating to do kitchen jobs without the equipment you know you already own!! Had family company coming in and knew I was going to need my mandoline for several jobs. Looked on garage with no luck so I started searching for a smaller mandoline that would be easier to use and store. This item was exactly what was needed!! Thankful for the reasonable price point! Company just left and all food prep went as planned! 😊

This works quite well at cutting slices of things, such as vegetables or potatoes. It cuts quickly and cleanly, and it's easy to carefully control the size of the slices that you want. It would be very easy to slice yourself if you didn't use the gloves or the holder. I expect that you could seriously hurt yourself with this if you are not careful. It is probably not something that would be good to have around children. It does poorly with things that you want to cut into fine shreds, such as cheese. The minimum thickness that you can adjust the slices to is still relatively thick, and I don't think there is really any good way around this. It does not compare to or replace cheese graters / shredders such as rotary shredders. Only a few slices will fit under the slicer, which is where things fall. It's a bit annoying to have to pause every 3 slices or so to pull a plate out from under the mandoline and reposition things, and it slows down processing.

After only 3 uses the blade welds broke loose. Turns out only 2 of the 7 spot welds were holding the blade in place. I liked it the first 2 uses. However, I would like to return it and receive a refund. I’ve had it for 11 months and only needed it 3 times.

Very blunt and design doesn’t work. I have a guillotine that’s over 10 years old, and worked great but has become blunt. Still 10 times sharper than this. The guard is also poorly design and borderline dangerous - especially to people who don’t know what they are doing. Very poor product.

Produit très efficace, qui ne laisse pas le droit à l'erreur dans la manipulation. Facile à utiliser, des protections qui sont pratique à l'emploi (on ne gâche pas de produit). Les sont faciles et nette (produit dur (carotte) comme sujet à l'écrasement (clémentine)). Nettoyage facile et rangement également. Je conseille vivement de garder la protection de la lame pour le rangement. À ce prix là en plus, quand on voit des modèles au double du prix, ça vaut le coup. Pas de visibilité encore sur la durée de vie de l'affutage par contre, mais ça reste un outil pas utilisé à chaque recette.

I have only used the mandolin twice so far. However, the mandolin was very easy to set up and sliced the cucumbers very nicely. Clean up was finished in a couple of minutes.
