Will this work on round, 12 point, faucet stems?

Yes, because it doesn't really use the points. It grabs the whole stem from 3 angles. It works great.

Maximum radius distance from the center of the valve stem to the outer head of one screw handle is 1.75 inches or 44.5 millimeters. Therefore, in order to spin the Mandle in a complete circle, you need 1.75 inches of clearance between the center of the valve stem and nearby obstacles such as a wall or pipe. The total circular diameter is 1.75*2 = 3.5 inches And the circumference is 2*Pi*1.75=11 inches

What is the maximum size stem that will fit in opening? I need a little over 1/2"?

Sorry the Mandle is drilled 1000 th over 3/8"

The handle for the shutoff valve on my sprinkler system rusted off and broke, I believe it is a ball valve, will this work to replace it?

If there is still a stem (post) on the valve, chances are "yes"... My sprinkler pressure regulator valve system had a tee strap handle that rusted/disintegrated. I had to break the retaining nut on the threaded stem. I was then able to install this handle to operate the original valve.
