FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Standard Zoom Lens (SEL24105G/2), Black

Paired well with my 7CR, but it works with all my Sony bodies. I have a F2.8 but I hardly use it down at F2.8 and noticed I was using it mostly around F4 and above so went with this and got it all the way to 24-105mm, plus it’s smaller then my 24-70mm F2.8 GM so fits in a smaller camera bag easily. Lighter weight, quick autofocus, clarity and color is great.

Do you need 24-70 and 70-105 range in one les? Are you mainly into day time photography? Are you looking for one stop shop travel lens? Answer to any of the above is yes. Go for this lens. It's great and sharp and the zoom range is great. It weighs around1.46 lbs, slightly bulky due to the range and image stabilization This is perfect if you're into day time video as it has nice image stabilization. However, if you're looking at shallow focus, you might not get it. Also night time could be a challenge unless you bump up the ISO.

I use this lens a lot on a7iii, it's one of my favorite esp. for short trips and hikes, yielding outstanding image quality in many situations, except very dark scenes where you may need f1.8 or brighter aperture. The zoom range is perfect for my type of photography - I rarely want to shoot wider than 24mm, and the long end of the zoom range can get you good not too distant wildlife shots with good background separation. Works well for street photography (although, most primes are smaller and lighter) and portraits. For most sports, you'll need longer reach and better auto-focusing though.

The 24-105 G master lens has become one of my favorite lenses. I used to have the 24-70mm and I find that the 24-105 range is much more practical. Although the 24-105 is the heaviest lens I have, I find that it is still fairly light, and it eliminates the need to carry around multiple lenses since it is so versatile. A wonderful bonus is that it can focus pretty close for some nice macro shots. The lens is also very snappy with lightning fast autofocus, the focus is fast even in low light situations. The image quality is spectacular and ultra sharp at all focal lengths. I love that it has a customizable button on the side, that it has optical image stabilization, and that it is weather sealed. I love using this lens.

This is such a rockstar compact lens. The epitome of every day shooting. The constant F4 range while zooming makes it the perfect base for shooting video too. Paired with the Sony A7cii, I have a compact cinematic powerhouse. I could instantly tell the G master quality difference when compared to the cheaper Tamron lens I first tried out. Worth every penny.

This lens produces very sharp and high definition images. I'm using it with my Sony A7C camera with on sensor stabilization. With the on lens optical stabilization, I'm able to get very sharp and clean shot indoor with daylight from the window. I'm able to have good shots with 1/3" shutter, f5.6, ISO 100 at focal length of 105mm. Under normal rule with image stabilization, the safe shutter speed would 1/125" at this focal length. But I'm able to do it with 1/3" shutter! That is stabilization at work! It is amazing. On the con side, well not really cons but a given. This lens has maximum aperture of f4 which means at low light it is hard to focus. I wish I could get a f2.8 or faster version of this lens. But there nobody makes a 24-105mm f2.8 zoom lens. When I go on a trip/vacation, I would bring a compact Samyang 45mm f1.8 fixed lens to get by low light situation.

I love this lens. My family goes hiking and travels the outdoors/PNW in good weather. This is on an a7c and will be the lens for daytime snaps. The zoom is just enough, and the 24-45 range looks great for general people and places pictures. You won't get 'creamy backgrounds' but you can get just enough blur to make your subject stand out/be separated, but it also does a great job with scenery. Takes mighty fine videos as well. I wouldn't really use this indoors unless it is a very well-lit situation (conferences/corporate/custom projects) For reference, we own the a7c WITHOUT a kit lens. We went straight for this lens and the FE 35mm 1.8 G (which is amazingly awesome). Previous experience: Intermediate level artistry and everyday photography on a Nikon D90 with 35mm 1.8 and 18-105mm. Used it to death until we picked up the a7c (and yes, the D90 still produced superb images that rivaled the best smart phones in 2021).

Everything about this lens is perfect from the price, the range, and the quality. F4 sounds limiting and I’d love this lens in f2.8 but this is now my go to lens for event pet photography because of the flexibility which is exactly what you want in a situation where you do not have any control over any of the conditions or action. Being able to respond to something either right next to me or dozen feet away is huge!

The used lens was rated as very good and arrived in a nearly perfect condition to me. Although soon enough I realized the lens hood was missing from yhe delivery, Amazon customer service team attended to my issue and swiftly provided satisfactory resolution. It was a good experience overall. Product wise, this is a fantastic lens for my videoshooting requirement. There are many in-depth reviews about this lens on the web. This is definitely a very nice to have lens to Sony e-mount camera owners.

Sharp, fast, easy to use. This is a very good versatile lens. The wide angle is perfect (16mm for a dslr). Really happy with it.
