5.11 Tactical Men's Active Work Pants, Superior Fit, Double Reinforced, 100% Cotton, Style 74251

I had been eyeing these pants for some time before deciding on them, and glad that I finally ordered them. They have a high thread count (as opposed to xxxxxBay cargo pants) and are heavy duty yet comfortable. The relaxed fit is really relaxed, which I appreciate. The photos were taken after removing the tags, washing them and wearing them for about an hour. The only nitpick I have is that the actual khaki color of these pants is a bit darker than what appears in the product description photos (seen both on my PC monitor and smartphone). I don't think this is in an issue with my device screens not being calibrated properly. I agree with other reviewers that the side pockets aren't big enough to completely conceal a large cell phone but I can live with this. My cell phone sticks out about half an inch from the pocket. I'm really a 36 waist but decided on a 38 waist and am glad I did (again, preferring roominess).

I don't normally write product reviews, but the 5.11 Tactical Pants impressed me so much I felt compelled to spend a few minutes writing this review so that I could tell others about them. This is definitely the best pair of cargo pants I have ever owned. To begin with, the fit is absolutely perfect. The elastic waist band makes the pants fit me perfectly and comfortably. Second, the weight of the material is pretty much ideal. Other tactical pants are way too heavy for me. So heavy, they seem to restrict my movement. I know a heavy material is used for durability, but the 5.11 is super durable without being super heavy. Next, the pockets are awesome. Nice and deep. And the back pockets have a unique curve cut. Makes getting access to my wallet very easy, but protected from pick-pockets by a velcro seal. And then there is an extra band on the back. Hard to describe, I have never seen anything like it on a pant before. Its just an extra little thing on the side you can hang something from, like, a tool, perhaps a hammer. For my work, I am a mobile audio ENG Freelancer (sound engineer) and I use that thing to hang my stick mic and it works REALLY PERFECT. This was like an answer to my prayers. The pants are super comfortable and I can move in them easily, and yet they do not look baggy. They fit nice. I can't recommend these pants enough. They are now my favorite pants for work, and I plan to wear them every single day I am on the job. My life is literally better now, having purchased these pants. I never thought I would write a sentence like that.

#1. top quality construction; old school material, I believe it’s cotton canvas. sits naturally, or lays naturally on your body. #2. The snap button, internal button and zipper & elastic waist, are High quality design, I’m exactly 6 feet X 148 pounds, so I wear a 32 in the waist 34 long. fits me perfectly. #3. I had to get them “tapered” from just above the knee down to the ham, To have a more “modern & slim profile”.(not- skinny) They are kind of on the baggy side . so I had them tapered in to have a more slim or slender straight cut profile, but if you like boot cut, it’s a little wider than that.(10 stars good quality.) also, the color tone may be somewhat different than other blues.

Overall disappointed Ordered a pair of 100% cotton canvas based on the great reviews for the brand. Use the pants mainly for travel and daily wear. The pants look great and have a premium feel with high quality stiching and finish. Feedback after a few days of wear. 1. Fabric is thick, tough and comfortable even in hot weather. 2. Fitting is not great as the pants sit pretty high even though the inseam is as per my usual size. Due to the poor fit the pants hug the knees when climbing or kneeling, not expected from such pants. 3. The cargo pockets sit low near the knees and are shallow compared to brands like Tru spec. 4. The left side clip/ utility pocket is too small for typical iPhone/smartphone. 5. The front brass button occasionally pops open if one bends forward too much. I have never faced such issues with truspec or proppers pants. I may have received a poor piece. But expected more from the brand. Suggestion- the pants ride high, so consider ordering one size lower in inseam, else fitting might not be good.

These pants are fantastic. I have always been a fan of 5.11 having worn their TDU pants working security, and their EMS pants in my current career. After transitioning to a new company, I ordered a pair of these after learning that I didn't need 30 pockets to carry all the equipment I thought I needed, as well as to comply with the new dress code at the new job (Black instead of blue). These pants have the perfect amount of pockets, wallet goes in the left cargo pocket, angio catheters in the mag pocket, keys in the left pocket, and gloves in the right cargo pocket. The pants fit fairly well, the waist is slightly tighter than the EMS pants but I don't mind the slightly tighter fit. They flex easily with a full range of motion for lifting stretchers and stair chairs, etc. I can do a butt to the floor squat in this without any sign of strain in the crotch. I would highly recommend these pants to anyone who needs a pair that can stand up to the elements in a wide variety of situations/activity levels.

I bought these for work after ruining multiple pairs of Dockers. I ordered the 36" waist because I fluctuate between a 34-36 and occasionally wear an IWB holster when I CCW. I didn't read the instructions for washing and shrunk the pants a little bit, this actually worked out in my favor. It has been muggy an 90+ this week near Lake Erie and the loose fit on the legs has been a great feature keeping me cool in these otherwise heavy pants. I didn't realize there was a strap on the back right hip when I ordered them and wondered why it was there. I read a bunch of stuff on the internet then called the customer service number for 5.11 to get the answer. The strap is a signature feature from the original design for hiking. This apparently was used for hanging the D-Loops climbers use. If you are like me wondering about the use, get creative. If you put things in your back pockets that are long, the strap can help secure it. The Cell Phone pocket on the front left side is perfect for a DROID 4 or an extra magazine (or 2) for those who CCW. Update August 2016: Still wearing these every day (rotating 4 pair) and they are finally starting to show signs of wear. One has a small hole in the bottom of the leg, the others are starting to fade a bit on the creases. I am looking forward to buying a few more after these finally wear out.

5.11 Tactical Men's Cotton Pant(Purchased: Fire Navy, Black, Khaki,Tundra, Grey, and OD Green) $47-54 w/ Prime Shipping at time of purchases These are my favorite heavy duty cargo pants hands down. They are rugged and have generous pockets in all the right locations. The rear pockets are of particular note as they are slanted and deep enough so that it is very difficult to sit on an item stored. To illustrate, I store my Note 4 paired with a "Zero Lemon 10000mAh extended battery" which makes the phone, quite frankly, a brick. It still fits comfortably and completely within the pocket(no part protruding out of the pocket) and I can sit down comfortably. Your mileage may vary but if it can fit this particular phone and battery without incident then you wont have any issue with smaller phones or wallets. The only drawbacks of these are the price(you get what you pay for) and that they do get a little warm since its a thicker cotton canvas. Also they lose the pocket on the front of the right thigh that the "taclite pro" series possesses. As far as modifications go I was considering adding zippers so that they will be convertible into shorts like some hiking pants are and/or zippered or Velcro vents that would make the pants comfortable even in warm weather. BUILD The sizing on the pants are spot on in my experience. The durability of the pants seem high since they are cotton canvas and even after many wash cycles and heavy wear they only show some minor signs of a few threads of the stitching coming loose(very very minor). COLORS The colors fading on these pants is more of a concern to me than the pants themselves wearing out as the colors are not very vibrant(personal preference on pro or con). They are almost exactly the colors depicted on the product images. I plan on purchasing the Sage and Coyote Brown to complete the set.

There really isn't anything I don't like about these pants except, that they don't make this design in a different material that doesn't wrinkle! It's a great material for durability and everything else, but it wrinkles terribly and I hate ironing! They can look pretty bad if you don't iron them frequently. I love all the pockets! It saves me from having to carry a murse (man purse) everywhere I go. I work as a research and development engineering technician, and I can easily carry on me most of what I will need in a day, tool wise, that will allow me to complete a job without needing to lug a tool bag around. These pants are comfortable, rugged, and I never have to fear splitting my pants out like I used to happen too frequently with regular old carpenter jeans. The pockets are deep and reinforced to handle clipping on a knife, tape measure, multi-tools, etc., without wearing out the openings at the corner edges of the pocket or the bottom of the pocket. 511 Tactical carries numerous kinds of pants, but this is the only design I like, but for some reason they won't make this pant design with a different material, I don't understand that!? I love some of the other pant materials they have that don't wrinkle and are just as tough, but none of the other designs they have fit me very well and their pocket layout isn't as good as this design. I'm confused! Somebody from 511 tactical, please tell me why you will not make this pant design with your more premium, Teflon coated, rip-stop, or other nicer wrinkle free materials other than the heavy wrinkly cotton? I need these pants to look good as I am constantly between working the shop floor, touring VIP's through development and production areas, or standing in front of VIP's making presentations and dealing with management. The pants need to serve multiple purposes and these really only cover the rugged aspect well. Please let me know when you have these pants available in a different material!!! I'll buy a dozen of them in every color possible!!!

No hay mucho que decir en todos los sentidos es un pantalón perfecto, son mis favoritos para trabajar. Lo conseguí en promoción así que estoy feliz, fuera eso se me hace un poco caro para el precio que tiene normal pero la calidad lo respalda.
