Higher end speaker comparison
I bought these for my bedroom to replace a "sound dock" which just never seemed to get used. This and a small amphony bluetooth amp are much cheaper and provide way better sound. I have been listening everyday since I bought them. Awesome bass response, great highs, slightly raspy but they should mellow with usage. The speakers fall off a little in the mid-ranges. What the heck anyway? 100$ for the pair!Installation:48" high knee wall with crawl access behind and a framing header 1 inch above the installation, wall studs 16" of center and insulation behind the speakers making contact. Installation was incredibly easy.Comparison to Paradigm Studio 20sI was so happy with these, I figured I would give it a try.Paradigms: 2 way ported box, 7" woofer, 1" tweeter, 54hz-22khz, 90db ~900$ new.Miccas: 2 way in wall, 8" woofer, 1" tweeter, 40hz-20khz, 90db 100$ new. Both are 8 ohms. The Paradigms are way better in the mids, have smoother highs and the bass roll off is much nicer even though they don't go as low as the Miccas.Mid range intensive music like Paco de Lucia ( Flamenco ), Dianna Krall, David Bowie, Chet Baker, Paul Simon sound way better on the Paradigms.Heavy rock like Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin and even some more folkie stuff like Dave Mathews and U2 there is not so much difference. I didn't bother comparing classical music. Movies I actually liked slightly better on the MIccas. The Miccas also spread sound better, the Paradigms are more directed, maybe box vs in-wall?So the comparison is unfair, the paradigms to me sound as good or better than speakers I compared them to in the $1200 to 1800 dollar range when I bought them. The Miccas are only 100$ a pair and I slightly prefer them for Movies. Despite a few weak points they are not fatiguing to listen to music for long periods which, to me, is the most important feature I look for in a speaker.Update: Comparison to BIC America DV-62CLRS 6-Inch 2-Way Center Channel SpeakerThis is a better comparison of similar level equipment although the BIC is a center channel designed for a different purpose.BIC: 3 way dual port box, 2 x 6" woofer, .75" tweeter, 38hz-20Khz, 90db, 110$ new.Miccas: 2 way in wall, 8" woofer, 1" tweeter, 40hz-20khz, 90db 50$ ( for one ) new. Both are 8 ohms. The BIC, at a higher price, is an all around inferior speaker to the Micca. Washed out base and less defined highs but a better balance of mids. It occurred to me that the mids on the Miccas sound diminished because the bass and highs are so robust. I did some research and found out that in wall speakers always project more bass, similarly, box speakers will throw more bass if they are closer to a wall. I am still trying to convince myself that speakers can't sound this good for 50$.UPDATE July 2017I saw some reviews complaining about base. If these are installed correctly, believe me, base is not a problem. I found a site called audiocheck(dot)net. I can hear or rather "feel" down to 16Hz. Way below the advertised range of these speakers.

Adds amazing theater sound without wrecking the budget or the decor!
These in wall speakers will blow you away when paired with the right amp. The 8" woofers need a little more power to sound crisp. With an average 7 channel amp they sound slightly muddy and need the mids filled in more with the center than I would like. With closer to the 100-110 watts per channel they sound perfect. I have them paired with a Micca center channel and a 12" sub. You can have that amazing theater sound that you are shopping for and only have to determine where the subwoofer fits in your furniture plan. We actually found a nice table (no drawer) that sat over the subwoofer. We pained the speaker trim and grilles and it looks great. One speaker grille did rust for some reason. It must have had some paint scraped off before I painted it with latex. If you are going to paint them get a detail HVLP pneumatic paint gun with the primer tip and spray them outside. If you try to roll them it fills up the holes and clogs your sound path. Make sure to run some thinner through your paint gun afterwards and disassemble and soak the parts so that its not clogged up if you go to spray other paints later. When you install them you may want to have some of the plastic wrapped fiberglass insulation on hand so that you can sit some behind the speaker for two reasons.First off these are essentially free air speakers and this helps to dampen the motion of the woofer. Secondly your neighbors will appreciate it and you will too because you can turn them up more without the sound blaring outside if this is mounted in an exterior wall. I didn't want loose fiberglass near these because I thought the voice coil may suck in the fibers and blow the speaker. Be careful when installing these. The sound quality and lack of noise depends on getting a clean and tight hole cut without crumbling the drywall. I also recommend putting a thin line of caulk between the speaker flange and your drywall so that you seal it, stop any buzzing, and help strengthen the drywall around the hole.On my uncalibrated dB meter I think I hit a pretty clean 123 dB. These can keep up with a single 12" sub but if you have much more than that in the bass department you may have trouble leveling it all out. I think with a good center speaker and these as your 6 wall speakers it could balance out well with two 12" subwoofers though. Movies, music, and video games are amazing with this setup! There have been a few minor issues but overall they don't even put a dent in the value of these speakers in my mind. I do have one spot on the wall where the cleat that grabs your drywall from behind is starting to punch through. It has a small bump in the drywall there. The woofers hit pretty decent so I'm surprised that's all it's done. Also after about a year of use one speaker was buzzing. I was pretty bummed that I had a voice coil going bad. I pulled the speaker grille to see if anything visible was wrong without pulling it. I noticed that the speaker grill seemed loose when I pulled it off. I bent the wire mesh some so that it fit tighter in the plastic frame/trim of the speaker chassis and the buzzing has stopped.I was not expecting much from these when I ordered them. These are easily one of my favorite purchases on Amazon. I'm able to have my home theater without making my living room look like a bachelor pad. Bang for your buck these cannot be beat.

Great for a budget!!!
Miccca M-8s review. Once you find the correct placement, the speakers were easy to install. I used the mounting template and made sure it was level. I traced the cutout and the removed the template for easy cutting. Iโm running a Denon AVR and running these as my rear surround sound speakers. The clarity is great and they have a good bass response. My only complaint and the reason this is not getting 5 stars is, the plastic enclosure vibrates causing a noticeable rattle sound.Updated. I fixed the rattle with a thin felt weather stripping.

Excellent speaker for the price, worth the purchase!
Let me start by saying that I own a production company and have (and have used) a LOT of very high end audio equipment. When it comes to high output production sound systems, the quality of the speakers makes a huge difference, especially when you're talking about running your speakers at or near their maximum rated power. Home theater systems (which is what I'll be talking about here) are an entirely different story! Here are a few tips, as well as how these speakers perform:(1) Power handling for home theater speakers really isn't that important. There are so many other factors related to "loudness" other than how many watts a speaker can handle. The fact of the matter is, most people will never come close to the maximum rater power of a home theater speaker and most will be more than sufficient for home theatre applications. These speakers are no exception. They're plenty loud, I've not even come close to running them near their maximum rated power and they handle it with no problem.(2) Nearly every in-wall speaker is going to provide better overall sound than a typical sound bar. Of course, there may be exceptions in the very high price range. But, when you're talking about anything in relatively the same price range, in-wall speakers are always going to win out. Why? Simply put, because they're bigger. No, bigger isn't always better, but when it comes to low end frequency response (a.k.a. bass), larger speakers are always going to outperform smaller speakers. These are no exception, nice large 8" woofers for good low end response.(3) Go with 8" if you can, you'll be pleased with the sound! Again, if you have the space, the 8" woofers (as these have) will simply produce more low end. We're not talking subwoofer frequencies, but more kick and punch than you'll find in a 6.5" or smaller woofer. These have nice low end response and sound really great.(4) In-wall is worth the time effort. I really debated doing in-wall speakers in my most recent renovation, I kept thinking about a sound bar because of the simplicity. But, I'm REALLY glad I changed my mind. The sound from these speakers is so far superior to my sound bar it's ridiculous. What's more, I was able to keep them out of reach of the kids and free up a little more room (and paint the grills to match).(5) Buy an affordable speaker and save your money for something that matters. Yes, there are tons of speaker options and price ranges. In the end, buying a more affordable speaker (like these) will leave you with a lot of extra cash and still have a great sounding system.I'm really happy with these speakers, they sound great, install nicely, and are super affordable. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Lovely speakers
These speakers sound really great. It took me two years before I installed them, but they just are wonderful to hear. And not that expensive. Quality vastly outweighs the price. Lots of bang for your buck. Not that hard to install, when I actually got down to doing it.

Amazing Speakers for My New Man Cave
love my new speakers! I turned the second floor of our detached garage into a man cave, and these were the perfect addition. The sound is amazing โ clear, powerful, and way better than I expected for the price. They completely transformed the space and make movies, music, and game days feel next-level. Absolutely worth it!

Micca M-8S 8-Inch 2-Way In-Wall Speaker, In-box installation ...
With the help of the approximative dimensions needed for the In-wall installation, we built two 5/8" prefinished MDF 14" X 11" X 5 3/8" enclosures to accommodate these kits even using the actual tabs of those for the In-box installation, not forgetting either some fluffy fibrous material to somewhat damper some inner frequencies. The result, probably the best sounding speakers in our house driven by a 100 W / channel tube amp, surprisingly, absolutely everything is there, bass, mids and highs ! The voices are like nothing we've heard before, very clear and cristalline, not too much, just perfect ! The percussions are another highlight of these speakers, crisp and percussive, we're very happy with the end result, no doubt, a similar In-wall installation will surely give you similar stellar results !Good products easily adaptable ! Thank you !

I bought a pair of these for the bedroom and they sound way better than my 5
The sound is surprisingly clear and deep. I bought a pair of these for the bedroom and they sound way better than my 5.1 living room setup with dedicated subwoofer. The highs are crisp and clear, the lows are very deep and rumbly. I had low expectations since they were way cheaper than the Polk Audio equivalents, but I was pleasantly surprised. Planning on buying another set in the future.
