X-16 Telephone system
X-16 : Great phone system and easy to setup. 4 charcoal (black) phone extensions connected and 3 incoming telephone lines. We also connected an analog phone to line 1 before the system. Had questions which were handled by support nicely. Good build quality. Wiring harness was included in the box, to connect the extensions. --- A major complaint is how the package was delivered via United Parcel Service. The driver didn't knock and we waited all day the first day it was to arrive. The day after scheduled arrival we waited all day also. Still no knock. We heard a truck pull up out front. The driver walked around the side of the building halfway, then turned around and went back to the truck. I ran out to catch him before he left. As I was running along the side of the building I heard a loud THUMP !The driver had dropped the package on the sidewalk instead of setting it down! He waited there for me. I signed for it. He never knocked on any door of this building. XBlue packed it well, luckily no damage to the product. I don't want UPS to deliver here anymore. I just don't like the way they deliver late. We took delivery after 6:00pm, the day after it was to be here. I disagree with the way the freight was handled. It's a $700 box, at least handle it with some modicum of care. UPS is terrible. The X-16 product is so good I've ordered another one, this time with 8 phones, not just 4. Titanium this time. UPS is late delivering this one too. I've now waited until 4:55pm. Before the close of business but too late to deliver and install it today. The box I got was open, the inner box was sealed. When I told the UPS driver the box was open, he said that once I've accepted it, that's it, nothing can be done or changed. OK. Let's see if you guys that sell and ship this will listen and give us a choice of common carrier, other than UPS. . . --- October 2012 update : The business that had the 8 phone titanium colored set installed was a car dealership and they also love the look and solid, quality feel of the new phones, which sit on the desks at an angle so they can be seen at a quick glance. They like that the backlit display is a pleasing blue because it matches their computer equipment which has several blue colored lights on it. The phone is line-powered, which is nice because they don't need to place the phone whithin reach of an elelctrical outlet and plug in one of those short-corded transformer packs to it. Line power is a big plus when they had to deploy phones in the garage bays where they work on the cars, because there really were not any eletrical outlets available. The phones look so much cleaner on their desks too, with only a single thin telephone line coming away from it instead of two lines. The titanium matches their equipment color, The sound quality is excellent. Dialing is easy. Each phone holds it's own speed dial list, so each phone's speed dial list can be customized to the user. They don't even use the 50 speed dials it has. It was unbelievably easy to setup and program each phone's extension number. After programming each one, they changed their minds on how the extensions should be numbered. I thought it would be a hassle to reprogram them. It wasn't hard at all. It's so easy, other manufacturers should take a lesson. They really love the handsfree talkback feature : when another extension intercoms them - an internal call from extension to extension - they don't even have to to take their hands off their keyboard or mouse to answer back the internal calling extension. The technicians in the garage bays don't have to even touch the phone with their greasy hands to answer the manager. Way to go, XBlue ! They love that ! One thing worth metioning is that upon calling the XBlue tech support it was found that the system is compatible with the Viking brand paging amplifiers (sold separately). We had to call the customer support for a small problem we had during the setup. It turned out we had selected something wrong in the configuration. They called us back and got it squared away so quickly and were so nice about it, even though it was painfully clear in the manual that we should have made the setting, somehow we missed it. Overall a great support system and the easiest to setup system I've ever seen. Way easier than a Panasonic system, way easier than a Talkswitch (now Fortinet), even easier than an ATT multiline office phone ! Congrats XBlue, I'm very pleased. The end users are pleased too and the system worked with their exisiting building wiring, which is single line telephones wired back to a central connection point. No need for them to pay me to lay up new wiring.

Phenomenal price for simple, effective, and quality equipment
I just purchased and installed my X 16 phone from the X Blue Networks. I am not computer savvy at all and not technically savvy, either. So, I couldn't figure out how to work the phone when I received it. I called a local phone installer I found on Craigslist who charged $75/hour. The installer told me over the phone he had never heard of the system, but would look it up on the internet and tell me IF he could install it for me. He called me back and said "no problem, it should take roughly 2-3 hours of time" Again, I did not do any installation at all. In the end, the installer was at my office for just under 3 hours. In that time, he removed my old phone system, worked around the alarm system, moved one of my fax lines from back of office to front, then installed all the phones, activated them, showed me how to use them and it cost me 3 hours at $75, total of $225. He told me that he was so impressed with how inexpensive and how nice the phone system was, that he was going to recommend it to his customers. My installer was probably in his mid 60's, told me he wasn't too technically savvy, but he figured out how work the phones without the manual. He kind of used the screens and did his best, but then towards the end, he told me I could figure out the details of the phone by reading the manual. Bottom line, I love the price of the phone, the quality is definitely good (it feels heavy), and my installer was impressed with it. I think for the price, it can't be beat. I'd buy another system if I opened another office. One more thing, the installer told me for small business purposes, he would not recommend VoIP's. He told me he removes more of them than installs them. When I was shopping for phone equipment, I couldn't find an installer who wouldn't try to upsell me on a VoIP system. I just wanted a simple phone system that never goes down. So, that is how I used my X 16 phone. Good luck.

Easy to use small office phone system with auto attendant
After doing a lot of research, I settled on this phone system because of it's cost, functionality and ease of operation. I will comment on each of these. In terms of cost, I believe this is a relatively competitive priced product compared to others i was researching. This kit includes everything needed to get a four phone system up and running. This includes all phone cables, installation screws, instructions and hardware, although longer phone cables are likely needed. The main functionality I was looking for was the ability to have an auto attendant answer the phone and direct the call to the appropriate line. This system has a main recording as well as a directory ("7"). The main line can be accessed either by typing in the extension or "0". Call forwarding also works well either by sending the call through another line or by TRK2TRK/flash. This has worked very well for one extension that is appropriate to send to a cell phone. In terms of operation, it was very easy to set up this system. The longest part was that I needed to fix one phone cable in my building as it was split and I didn't realize it. Programming the system was rather simple and once things were up and running, it is very easy to keep the recordings up to date and access all of the features. There are a couple of things that I noticed about this system that I wish were different. The first is a caller has no way to get back to the main menu if a line is not picked up (they either leave a message or hang up). Also, I have not found a way to listen to messages on another phone extension without being on that extension or calling in from another line. Lastly, this is just an analog system which both powers and sends the phone data through a regular 2 pair phone line so there is no way to network this product or access messages through a computer. Overall, I am very pleased with this product and it has been functioning flawlessly for several months now.

Makes a small business sound large.
We've looked for years to find a small business phone system which doesn't have monthly fees attached. This is it. It's very easy to install: one of my assistants, a techno-phobe by nature, had the entire system up and running in half a day. It's also easy to use, the speakers are clear - in all, a marvelous system. Frankly, if you're a one-man (or woman) shop working out of a spare bedroom, you may want to buy one of these, not for the 6 available phone lines, but because the automated phone attendant conveys the sense you're a legitimate business. The system has four shortcomings. First, contrary to the company's advertising, it does not have a true employee directory function ("Please dial the first three digits of the person's last name..."). Rather, the "directory" is merely a very long voice mail greeting ("For Alice, dial x301; for Bob, dial x302, for Charlie..."). This is fine - if you have less than maybe 6-8 employees. Second, unlike your cell phone, you can't train this system to identify and automatically reject spam numbers. Third, the system isn't good about hanging up if a robocall has already hung up. So you get voicemails of that grating beep-beep-beep signal for a disconnected phone line. Fourth, the system enables direct-dial extensions for up to 4 employees. This is particularly useful for sales reps: potential customers can direct dial one of the four sales reps without being delayed by an automated phone attendant. If those customer service reps are already on the phone, however, the system does not route the call to to the rep's voice mail box. Rather, the system routes the call to the automated phone attendant ("Hello, you have reached XYZ Corp. If you know your party's extension, please dial it now."). This makes your customers' experience at best confusing ("Didn't I just dial their direct-dial number?"), and at worst irritating: not what you want in a phone system. XBlue Customer service is responsive, with some delay: you must leave them a message and wait for a return call the following business day. Not perfect, but the plug-and-play design for this system means you likely won't need to contact them often.

Fail
These phones promise easy installation and feature rich smooth operation. As standard office phones with no bells and whistles they seem to work, but once you begin using the "features" things break quickly. We've been working with XBlue's tech support for a few months trying to get our system to function as advertised. They've been nice to work with - even sending us an entire replacement system free of charge to replace ours. We've tried beta unreleased to the public firmware, patches, everything to get this system to work, but nothing seems to get the job done. Now we're out of Amazon's return policy and it'll be a battle to get money back for a system that never worked right. One of the major problems is with the system's auto attendant feature - apparently this has a problem where if the end user selects an option that is not available, the system gets stuck in a loop and stops functioning correctly. So callers call, get the auto attendant, but will never get transferred. Meantime, you can place outgoing calls, but no incoming calls are received. You must power cycle the main unit to get things operational again. This happens to us about once a week where for one of many reasons the auto attendant locks up. We've found that the best solution for our 5 user office is use a hosted voip solution such as Jive Communications, Nextiva, 8x8, etc.

Love This Phone System
Love this system. I probably could have installed it myself, but I was replacing another system with some connections put in by our carrier, Bright House; I wanted to make sure it was done correctly, and it only took person I hired under an hour, costing a minimal amount. Once installed, I had some concerns about connecting a wireless headset; worked with their Customer Service/Tech Support people, and they were absolutely AWESOME. They were both patient and concerned that I could get the system to work exactly the way I wanted; to reach them, you call in, leave your name and number, and you get a call back shortly afterward. I did not have to, but I could have called them 50 times, and I am confident the X-Blue staff would continue to treat me with concern and respect. Because my old headset had about 15 years on it, I decided to opt for a new one; I wanted to be able to plug it into the headset port, using the phone's amazing functionality. Took a couple of tries to get the adapters, but everything works perfectly [bought the Plantronics CS540]. Next add-on, for under $100 was the Grace Digital Music on Hold, which is far better than simply plugging in a tuner. Simply, the is a great system, with very robust functionality, at a very reasonable price.

Very happy with this phone system
I have never had to buy a office phone system before. So I won’t to say so far this system is everything that they say it is. I don’t know why people say it’s so hard to set up? I took my time and watched all of there videos and read the easy to follow directions and had no problem at all setting it up . I only had to call there tech support about three or four time to ask very stupid questions. There tech support people are the best I ever had the privilege to work with. They call you right back very friendly and I can’t explain how helpful they really are. The biggest problem I had setting this whole thing up was dealing with spectrum and adding new lines to my office that was a nightmare. Thank God I did not cancel any of my business lines before I was done setting it up with spectrum I would have no phone lines at all

Great bang for the buck!!!
After asking for a quote with a local supplier (different equipment) for $4,500 ( me almost crying), i decided to try this my self, i am installing those in a 2 story home, so, kind of scary!, long story short, i got my self a line tester ( you connect one in one side of the cable, and a "pencil" type you use to check the other end, this is very useful to follow lines that you actually don't know wich one), a 100' telephone cable, and a little package of phone terminals... After all saturday and half of Sunday, the systen is working great, my wife did the configuration and i did the hardware connection. All in all the equipment is very solid with great quality, i think people doing bad reviews is because they didn't take the time to check that all lines in their facitity are actually in good shape, the key is to have the cables in side your building/home organize. This equipment will do pretty much all your small bussines needs, the only little problem i have so far is that i can't seem to make the call forward from my terminal to my cell phone, but reading the manual found i need to call my phone service provider (att) 'cause looks like the problem is in their end. And the best part..... I save close to $4,000 bucks!! That is a bang for the buck!
