Excellent!!!
Before we got this training collar my dog was wild. To the point where we were going to give him up. He had food aggression, toy aggression and was the worst behaved dog! Stealing entire roasts off the counter, eating the bark off every tree in our back yard, digging up the yard. This was even with daily walks and once a week sled/bike runs of 10kms. He is a yellow lab named Ben. I wouldn't say Ben is the world's most well behaved dog now. But he is leaps and bounds from where he was! And he is very well trained now. Now this collar isn't a cure all for bad behaviour. It takes time, patience and consistency. We chose this training unit for its many features. The lights on the collar are very bright! Will light up your path. We live in the Northwest Territories in Northern Canada where in the winter we have near 20 hours of night. The add on collars was also a very nice feature. We have had this farming After a few months of training we now rarely use the shock on our dog. All we have to do is press the green button on the remote which sounds a beep and that is enough to stop the negative behaviour. I am not a professional trainer. I have watched videos and read many training books. Do some research on whether this is a good training method for your dog. If if you are a seasoned dog trainer you will not be disappointed with this collar! Our dog is a family pet that we want to also be a hunting dog. This unit has worked well for us. I would highly recommend the Garmin pro 550.

Pairs easily with Garmin Sport Pro remote system. These are my favorite training collars by far!
Garmin PT10 collar pairs easily with Garmin Sport Pro multi-collar remote, I found a Youtube video and it took less than a minute to pair. I may even make my own video, it was so easy. These training collars are IT! Battery life is outstanding, I charge them about once a week or every few days and it takes about an hour or so to charge. Out of the box, the collar fits many sizes of dog, they even come with a second set of additional longer prongs if your dog has a thicker coat. They are waterproof, have a light feature as well as "bark limiter" barking correction feature that can be turned on- the entire system is easy to use and easy to train. You can train your dog with a "beep" tone, vibration, or shock on a level 1-9. The remote can also be 'locked' as to not provide accidental commands, as well as an auxiliary mode to turn on the light or bark limiter. The Garmin PT10 collar/ Sport Pro system is a great choice for functional training and lasts for years; I have had this one for 3 years and counting- I've used it several days in a row, forgotten to turn it off, and finally charged it after a week or so. It has been swimming, in the mud, at the barn, and lived in the floorboard of my car in Florida for days at a time when not in use. With this durability and at this price point, I can afford to pair all three of my dogs' collars to my single Sport Pro remote and have great response from them all for on or off leash training. The PT 10 training collar is a great choice. I personally use the 'beep' tone function to recall, and tell my dog when they give me the response we are looking for. The vibrate feature is hit or miss- my young Labs don't seem to notice it at all so we use the shock on a low setting as a warning with verbal command, and use a higher shock setting for correction, which is generally followed by the command and performance of the desired behavior followed by a 'beep' tone as well as a treat for the learning moment. Having three of these collars in different colors is a great help since you want to make sure you are putting the right collar on each dog and having their collar reflect who gets what type of function as needed.

My third one
I have all three colors (black and red). All work well. Decent range. Battery holds for a decent time. Works well for training and bark control. I have two GSPs and will be getting a third one! Got this collar for the pup!

Best dog training collar out there
Had to add another collar for my new dog to my already existing handheld controller. These collars are the best I've ever found. Holds a great charge, waterproof, dependable distance, and all around good quality. Not cheap, but they stand the test of time and abuse from the acitve dogs racing into all sorts of things from brush to grass to water.

Awesome
Works awesome. Consistent shock voltage. Lights are a great feature at night. I live on 18 acres and haven't reached it max range yet. Wish battery life was a little longer. Get about a day and a half to two days if left on constantly on a single charge.

Been buying for years
We have used this particular collar for years on our two Boykin Spaniels for field training. There are many great features we love. We love the little light that we can turn on. Our dogs are deep chocolate brown, so after they go 20 feet out at night, you can no longer see them. Now I dont need to worry about them wandering our large property because I can always see them. We also love that this has GPS capabilities, although we have never used it because our dogs stay close. These are very durable and use them for duck hunting in swamps and in the field for pheasants, and the occasional dip in the pool. What we are not fond of is the battery. We seem to have to replace these every two years or so. But they are so incredible and work so we can send commands to both dogs.

OMG it WORKS!
Honestly, I was a little skeptical about this and figured I'd be returning it. I've bought countless other collars off of here and none of them seemingly worked. The first day I put it on him, I apparently didn't even have it on and I noticed he wasn't even barking as much as he normally did. Found that odd after I realized it wasn't really even on. Yesterday I had it on properly and noticed once he started barking, he would stop pretty quickly. It registered 14 triggers. Today, I couldn't find a single instance of him barking at all while I was at work. My little one was, but while she was going off, he was just chilling on the couch. I text my neighbor and ask if I was missing something because I couldn't find a single instance of him barking on my camera footage. He hadn't realized it until I mentioned it, but stated he only heard him do it a handful of times and that was it. And he was in and out all afternoon moving stuff in/out of his storage. I get home and it only registered him bark FOUR times! That's on DAY 2! I can't recommend this thing enough! Well worth the money, even if I have to keep it on him every time I leave the house! Considering buying another one for my little dog, but the price and the fact that it'd be half the size of her head, I just dunno. Plus she typically only starts up when he does. We shall see.

Excellent tool - not for beginners or inexperienced dog trainers
Let me begin by saying that I have been using these devices for the last 15 years or so. The Garmin Pro 70 and its associated collar is by far the most robust and has the best real world range. Potential users of this device and new dog owners who are unfamiliar with proper training methods should not use one of these devices. While they are excellent for sharpening up a dogs skills they do not teach the dog those skills. You still have to do ALL of the basic training required of any canine in order for it to understand the task you are requesting it to perform. If used improperly or in anger they WILL destroy the dog's temperament. Step one: Learn the proper methods utilized by professionals to train dogs or seek the assistance of a professional. Step two: Teach the dog the task you want it to learn without the aid of this tool. Step three (and before you ask yes I did do this to myself several times): Put the collar against your own neck and experience one shock at each level all the way up to maximum. Step four: Utilize this training tool in a safe enclosed large area in order to sharpen up a known skill that the dog possesses. Things to know about this type of device: - always begin with the device on level one. if you are triggering the device on level one and there is no visible reaction whatsoever from the dog the problem is not that the device is set too low. The problem is that the electrodes are not touching the dog's skin either because the short electrodes are installed on a thick coated dog / the collar is too loose / the collar was initially put on the dog and tightened to the correct tension but with the collar too low on the dogs neck, rather than immediately behind its head and high on the neck, and the dog now has it head down and the electrodes no longer contact because of the change in position of the collar. Never ever use this device if you are even a little bit angry at the dog. If you are angry you must put the controller down -the problem is that you have failed in your duties as a trainer; the dog is not the problem.

Great tool, always on if the dogs are out.
Bought this to complete the controller and 3 collars. Have 3 big dogs on a farm who like to chase coyotes. A great tool to help communicate with them. After training I almost never shock them, the beeping or vibrate mode gets their attention. Highest I’ve shocked is 7/21 levels.
