This is not a vlogging camera!!
The LUMIX S1H is a 6K beast and one of the best hybrid mirrorless cameras I have ever used. The 5.9k full frame sensor is absolutely gorgeous and the color science in this camera is fantastic. It also includes Panasonic’s full fledged V-Log Picture profile that is used in their expensive Varicam cinema cameras. It has amazing dynamic range and is great for color grading thanks to the 6K 10-bit recording codecs. This camera also has a full frame downsample DCI 4K codec in 10-bit 4:2:2 that is stunning, which is almost more impressive than the 6K images. This camera does have a sub-par auto focusing system like the GH5, but this camera is so big that you shouldn’t be vlogging with it in the first place! This is the closest thing to a cinema camera, and with the possibility of recording RAW files with the use of an external recorder in the near future, it’s no wonder this camera was already approved by Netflix for their Originals. Coming from the GH5 and a GH5s, the S1H and S series is a major improvement and should help anyone create more professional and cinematic videos.

Cinematic camera, oldie but a goodie
Used camera but arrived in great shape - just no manual or original packaging. Great deal!

Best mirrorless I ever owned!
This is by far the BEST mirrorless camera I ever owned, and better than any DSLR I ever owned too! Still holds up well today in 2024! I do professional video and film work, and I stand behind my comments! If you’re serious about filmmaking or shooting events, or music videos, this should be at the top of your consideration list!! Panasonics BEST mirrorless, even compared to its successor models leading up to 2024. I love that I can go in my settings and have it always show me a red rectangular boarder around my LCD screen when it’s recording. PLEASE NOTE… If you want to shoot 6K in 16:9 aspect ration, you cannot! You will need to shoot at 5.9K to get 16:9 but that’s just fine. Still plenty resolution! If shooting in full 6K, it will shoot in open gate mode at a 3:2-like square image, not wide screen, because it’s using the whole sensor readout.

Quality control issues
Quality control issues ! This camera is an amazing tool but it’s lack of quality control is it’s downfall . I receive the camera oct. 1 2020 and November 2 the lcd shell broke off unexpectedly ! It Literally just popped of the body, not from miss use or a drop bump or anything literally just popped of the unit and upon inspection the grove for the screw which is plastic broke . I would assume a camera costing $4400( after tax )would have better components but this is unacceptable as this happened in a studio environment where heat or cold isn’t an issue so I can only image the issues you would have if your a traveling photographer/videographer. I don’t know if I got a lemon or if this is a ongoing issue but it really needs to be address as my shooting is sidelined due to this and really hurts because this camera produces incredible images . I’m still waiting to hear back from Panasonic because amazon wouldn’t refund me because I was literally one day out of the return window go figure , and Panasonic customers service is all automated and very hard to reach . My rating on this product is based on lack of quality of the unit itself not the images it produces as it’s the best images on the market better then R5 and a7s III both which I’ve used extensively but neither of those failed on me beside r5 heating issues . Just a little insight before your purchase this camera as Now I’m dealing with credit card issuer to get this resolve and maybe can avoid this issue and headache and what and see if I can be refunded or sent a replacement unit

Do not buy this for Canon lenses
I love this camera but could not experience its full extent of continuous auto focus using MC-21 sigma adapter as they do not work for continuous auto focus, you will have to get Lumix lenses.

Video picture quality is top notch!
I really love the color of the image. I just got mine and have already used it in production. I haven't gotten the chance to play with it too much. I'm excited to try the log profiles, but the Cinelike V (or D?) was great to jump into and get going. The internal stabilization is working superb and the picture quality was such a step up! The 6K picture as well as the 4K in 60p just look so good without any editing. I can't say enough about the camera. Finding the right lens has been a little difficult. I'm sure the Leica lenses are great, but didn't fit my budget at this time. I've been trying a couple different Sigma lenses to use with the full frame censor. Just be aware of the super wide angle lenses and the distortion that they can bring. Also, the s1h does eat through your battery and your SD cards pretty quickly...so having plenty would be a good idea!

Not recommend unless you know to shoot with manual focus.
Almost perfect hybrid camera but auto focus kills its chance. For $4000 or $5000's with lens, Panasonic still retains this mediocre auto focus function. In away it's good because it forced me to learn how to shoot video with manual focus. If you are not able to do that, nor unwilling to learn how to focus manually, this camera is not for you!
