is the brand you received Kissho, or was it Kuretake? the box, colors and pans look exactly like Kuretake brand (thank you for your help)

Names maybe different however it is the exact same paint from exact same manufacture. I purchased a 48 set of these paints over a year or two ago and this set of 72 was not available here on Amazon, I would like to have it now but as far as any difference, there is none, they are the same. The numbering system maybe different but if I remember correctly they were identical and same goes for the names, the Japanese writing were the same for identical colors when I compared them with my friends set Get them if you can these are lovely paints. A good assortment of transparent/semi-transparent and opaque/semi-opaque.

is this watercolour lightfast?

So far as My experience in art has shown me, no color is lightfast- that said, these colors are bright and blend well without becoming muddy. I do not varnish nor use fixatives - the finish is like eggshell. None of the paintings have made have faded.
