Beginners level instructions. Very helpful information.

This is a good book to start with
This is a good book to start with. It has good information on machining. That is definitely the author's strong point. This book is geared toward the passenger car engine, you will definitely learn how to build a great mustang engine. However if you have a Triton 5.4L 3V Flex Fuel V-8 you will be left with many questions . I just bought three more books SA books because of questions that still arose about the truck engine.

Basics
This book contains a lot of basic information on how to build your own 4.6 or 5.4 engines. It’ll keep you from overlooking a step or two when you’re slapping the sucker together like a set of legos.

Decent book well written. However....
This book is geared more toward the 2v 4.6 and 5.4 and aimed more at the Mustang enthusiasts. There is very little info for the 5.4 3v as found in the F series trucks. Engine specific data is also sparse, specifically: clearances, component dimensions. Also this book largely stops at about 2006 for the majority of its content. And I'm dealing with '08 through '12 3v stuff.
