A thrilling adventure!
I have loved this book since I was a kid, and still do. It's imaginative, exciting, and I credit it for my interest in paleontology and fossil collecting! Give it to a kid of any age as a gift!

Jules Verne's "Journey to the Center of the Earth"
The Original "Journey to the Center of the Earth." It was an exceptional read. Written 150 years ago and I was there with them.

Almost perfect
4 stars why? Bought paperback 100 anniversary edition. Good binding with illustrations, but honestly the print is lighter than normal almost grey not black. Others in house said so as well. Otherwise great copy for great story.

SeaWolf Press 100th Anniversary version is the best available.
SeaWolf has done an admirable job with these releases, going back to original artwork, or the beautiful art from around the period, and also producing amazingly authentic text, fonts, and drawings from the original English editions translated from the French. For some of these, the translations were a bit creative in the early days of the originals. This is a better and more authentic version than the original English release by Griffith & Farran, but Malleson does concoct chapter titles and a few details, so one may also want to take a look at a newer translation done with Penguin that is a bit more accurate. Both versions are quite nice, and I actually like the look and feel of the SeaWolf Press edition more, but the other translation is better. Your choice.

The book is well worth it.
Adventure that could be real if such a large cave system could be found. Fiction of course but so well done that you get lost in it.

Great reprint of a highly collectable piece.
These were originally done in the fifties. The writers actually put thought into making classic books accurately retold in comic book form and they succeeded without destroying the story. I own several original printings (very collectable), but love to have these new copies so my children can read them too. I'm thrilled to have found these! Wonderful print quality, will definitely buy more in the series.

NOT THE BOOK!!!! The product did not fit the description. Instead of the 258 pages book, I received pages 1-56 in a 4 pages per frame format and with 2 of them on the opposite orientation each time! I tried to check if I could ask for the book to be replaced since it was directly purchased from amazon, but since I couldn't, I am just hoping this does not happen to anyone else. Note to self: ALWAYS CHECK THE SAMPLE BEFORE PURCHASING!!!

Jules Verne was one of the masters when it came to science fiction, his writing style makes it easy to follow and the plot takes some twists and turns, leaving one flabbergasted at times. As he delves deeper into the bowels of the earth he comes into contact will all manner of creatures, flora and fauna including rock formations which adds to the mystery of the story. If you haven't read it yet I urge you to give it a go, even if you aren't a science fiction reader, I am sure this book will surprise you.
