MERRELL Kids's Chameleon 7 Mid Alternative Closure Waterproof Hiking Boot

I buy these every year for my rough and tumble son, whom is 10 yrs old this year. They are very durable, comfortable, and we love that there aren't any shoe strings, although he can tie his own shoes lol The dog chewed up our current pair, so we like them so much that Im actually about to repurchase another pair for him. They are water resistant, not water proof. They will keep your kiddos feet nice and dry on a hike, even if you have to cross a small stream. They keep your feet warm and dry in the winter, but are perfect for summer too. I dont think they would be best in deep, wet snow, but you could definitely hike a snowy trail in them, as long as the snow didnt come up over the boot. We spend a great deal of time in the woods, as we live in a very rural area. These boots stand up to briars, thorns, and rocky terrain. Merrell is great brand. Cant beat these kids boots for the price.

This was my 9-year-old son’s first pair of dedicated hiking boots and I was a little hesitant to order them online, but time was short and I couldn’t find anything locally for him to try on. I ordered his normal shoe size and the fit was as expected. I know that Merrill boots tend to be on the narrow side in adult sizes, but my son didn’t complain about the fit at all. He said they are comfortable, they are easy to take on and off, and he wore them all weekend without complaint. The quality looks good and a weekend of typical use for a youngster didn’t result in any signs of damage, unexpected wear, or manufacturing defects. I strongly suspect he will outgrow them long before he wears them out, so the reasonable price for them is a plus. Overall, a solid purchase.

These Merrell ankle boots are great for kids , sturdy , warm and waterproof. They are easy to pull on and off with a Velcro closure rather than bothersome shoelaces. They are stylish , durable and a great value for the price. They run true to size and also come in wide widths for chubby little feet. Thumbs up 👍🏻

Easy for a kid to put on and take off. Kiddo wore this to school all through our CA winter and rainy season, and on multiple long hikes on all kinds of ground conditions (uphill, downhill, rocky, slick, wet etc.), and it is still going strong. Great traction on all kinds of surfaces and truly solid construction for a great price. I could easily hand it down to another kiddo when mine outgrows it. Oh, also, no stinky feet. I purchased a half size bigger so kiddo can wear it with both regular and thick socks.

Sturdy shoes for 4 year old. Great grippy soles and sturdy uppers. They fit perfectly and they’re my kids favorite shoes. Logging quite a bit of hiking miles through sandy soil and even a couple tiny creek crossings. Great waterproofing for just an inch or two of water. There is definitely wear already on the upper outside part near where the top eyelet would be. Likely from sitting crisscrossed on pavement. i wish that were a more sturdy fabric there. Would definitely buy these again though.

I was concerned when I bought these boots. We packed up for our trip to the national park and my son told me his boots no longer fit him. I went to my local REI and they had nothing in stock. Amazon saved the trip! They were delivered the next day. They were so comfortable that my son (age 10) completed the hike that was more than 10 miles and made it to the summit. In boots that DID NOT even need to be broken in. This is hid second pair of Merrell boots. The quality is great. They are comfortable and easy to slide into and out of for camping. They don't show dirt. The midtop gives him support for the rocky desert trails. They were also half the price of my local hiking store.

These boots keep my nephew’s feet sturdy when he’s running, and his socks completely dry when walking through the wet grass! The Velcro closure is perfect for easy on and off, and secures the boots tightly. I highly recommend these boots for their waterproof feature, stability, and excellent quality.

My 10 year old boy in Boy Scout has used it for almost a year hiking in rain, rock, and snow, climbing mountains, etc. While the sole has shown sign of wear, the boots overall hold up well considering how much we use them. In terms of water-proofing, he stepped into the water puddles a few times and no complains from him about wet feet. No break-in was needed and never any blisters. Considering the price, these are really great boots.

One shoe arrived 2 sizes too small, i had to pay $17 from my own packet to return them to the seller. A few days later the refund for the boots cost has been issued but my return expense has not been covered.
