About the bookchanakya neeti is a book based on chanakya, who was an indian philosopher, teacher and a royal advisor to the mauryan kings. It speaks about the various ideologies preached by him in those times, which are relevant even in the present times. It's referred by people to learn about the vices one should avoid to lead a happy and fulfilled life. The book describes chanakya, who was also known as kautilya or vishnu gupta. He was a professor at the ancient takshashila university, in the fields of economics and political science. Apart from that, he assisted the mauryan emperors, chandragupta and his son bindusara. Chanakya had a very important role to play in setting up the mauryan empire and expanding it. In chanakya neeti, the author speaks about arthasastra, the ancient dissertation about indian politics. The book is based on chanakya's deep studies. He documented his findings based on the way people led their lives in india. The book is a compilation of chanakya's beliefs a Review: An underrated master in Indian antiquity - This is a treasure. Unless you buy it and read it, there is no way to really know for yourself what Chanakya stood for all those hundred of years ago. Do not miss this opportunity of an excellent translation at a very reasonable price of one of the masters of politics who was truly a sage and family oriented person. Review: In-Depth - Not sure i understood them all - I believe the book is a great read for someone who is not introduced to the Bhagvad Gita or I guess any other faith/Dharma related book . I have read it and few of the teachings are overlapping. As I am not able to spend much of the time reading the varied texts covering such topics, it's difficult to comment on these. But I always believe that it depends upon the context of the individual reader what he/she takes out of these books. Overall it's an awesome process of thought and observations of Chanakya during his times.

Good content marred by dozens of typos
An almost great book, marred by dozens of typos in English. If you can get past the errors, the content is very good.

It is a user's manual for life.
Many things from this book are taught to us at home, which are necessary rules to live life. At least in many Indian families, these things are taught by parents although they don't say it is what Chanakya said. It is a small book, but it contains practical advice on how to handle money, relationships, businesses, friendships and enemies too.

Review
Well written! Well presented! Suitable as first book for someone who wishes to know more about Chanakya and his neeti. Shlokas are explained in detail after translation from Sanskrit to English. Kindle edition can be highlighted for reference. Good value for money. Does contain few typos though. Author needs to revise this edition and make it even better.
