It's really designed for low humidity locations. I live in the Northwest where the humidity is moderate, I sent it to my grandson in Las Vegas. He loves it.

I was looking for a swamp cooler, and saw this at a discounted price. Since it had so much more power than anything else at the price, I bought it. I saw in the description that it was meant for patios but I thought I'd try it inside the house anyways. It cools well but puts out a lot of humidity, even with a screen window fully open. Outside it would no doubt work great out to about 25-30 feet. Pros: cools really well(3-4 degrees cooler than my Honywell CL30XC according to my temp gun) simple design and buttons are very large back panel opens up and all parts are easily accessible big blue led display large water capacity made by Munters, a company with years of experience in commercial evaporative cooling technology Cons: cheap remote foam chute cracks easily(mine cracked during transport) small water port(they probably assume most people will use the alternate garden hose port for outside use) gimicky flow bars on led display for fan speed emits plastiky smell

LOVE this product !! We use in our garage as a second space for a play area and it keeps the room cool well
