Economical replacement
I bought this to replace a worn--out whole house attic fan 60min timer that no longer turned past 15mns. Pretty sure the previous owner had a habit of turning the dial counter clock-wise, which is a big no-no for any of these dial timers. However it is a testament to the build quality of the vintage unit as it only failed after 30 years of use and abuse. Although not as sturdy and beefy as the 30 y.o original part, it was a direct &easy no- brainer ,two wire installation. This item did come with instructions, so slow down and take a few moments to read them just to be sure that you have some idea of what you're doing. Again the feel of this unit is not as sturdy as the old one--the dial turns quite easily against the lightweight coil spring and feels a bit delicate as you turn it to set the run time. The clicks of the cog wheels as the dial is turned seem very soft and not very positive. No way would I believe that it would endure many counter-clock-wise rotations and continue to function. As it is , this unit does function well and with responsible use , should last quite a while if used properly--i.e no counter clock-wise dial turning.

Good value
I needed a timer for my bathroom exhaust fan. I tried a digital one and it didn’t work out of the box. When you have no neutral wire, your options are limited. I decided to try this UltraPro mechanical timer. . It was a little confusing at first as to how this is assembled into the wall. The instructions are basic. You remove the knob (it just pulls off), remove the nut and disassemble the front plate from the main body. Install the main body in the switch box, after removing the original switch. Place the original switch plate over the main body and place the timer plate over that. The nut sandwiches the switch plate and timer plate to the body and holds it all in place. After tightening the nut, replace the knob and you’re done. It works well. Just don’t pull on the knob as it will come off with a reasonable pull, as it’s only held on by plastic-to-metal friction. . The knob has to be turned past the indicator arrow to actually switch on the fan/light. However, it will also switch off the fan/light at the arrow when it counts down, ticking as it goes, and it continues ticking until the 5 minutes of that electrical dead zone is completed. You CANNOT force the timer around to OFF. You’ll break the mechanism. Turn it to 60 minutes and you’ll have to wait a while - 60 minutes to be exact! 😊 . My video shows how loudly it ticks. You can hear it over the fan noise. It’s not annoying though, and eventually, you don’t even notice it. . So far, it is working as intended and it has been a worthwhile $11 purchase.

Nice timer with a bonus face plate to match my decor
Item is exactly as described in Amazon website. Simple spring wound timer. Bonus with a second face plate with a slighlty different color (one was white and the other was light almond). Easy to install. I installed in about 15 minutes

Great device! Easy to install. The timer is a little loud and still ticks a little after turning off the lights.

Lasted Less Than 3 months
This timer broke after 3 months. The timer part still times down but the contacts inside the switch are not bringing the light on.

Works as intended.
My mom tends to be forgetful, and more than once has she left the porch lights on all night, which racks up a pretty hefty electricity bill. So this turn dial light switch is my perfect solution. Instalation is relatively easy, neutral, hot, ground, it's all provided in the includes diagram. It's pretty accurate as far as counting the exact time remaining. The cover plate does have to be held in place while the socket is screwed in, otherwise it'll just looks slanted. It can be integrated with any light switch over. Overall good!

Works good, decent price
I replaced a 30 min timer with this longer 60 min for a jetted tub. Works great. The 'clicking' when it's running is not as loud as the previous mechanical timer, but you can still hear it. Not objectionable to me though. One thing to note is that this DOES NOT come with a decora plate to cover it. It includes a white and ivory plate where the numbers are, but you still need a decora faceplate to finish the job. If you're replacing a regular decora switch with this then you can re-use that plate. My old timer had a metal plate so I had to dig up a decora to finish the job.
