Review … Students and the public are not aware of the rapid speed at which the research in nanoscience moves from the lab into devices and materials for public consumption. Since this size of science involves the study and manipulation of atoms, it opens a window of nature that can improve our understanding of self-assembly and self-organization at the cellular level of all matter. Learning through biomimicry in all research areas can advance our knowledge base safely for enhancing and enabling materials and medical discoveries. I don't know if this book accurately describes this aspect. … The lack of education in nanoscience for K-12 and the lack of informal coverage by the news media has created gaps in our knowledge base as the technology advances rapidly in the public domain. The public will not be able to evaluate new medical advances or environmental technology, nor make informed decisions for medical procedures offered in the future until the knowledge base is expanded in all areas. … An Introduction to areas of research and development in the nanoscience fields that could become products for the public.
